Not enough resource, would agree with that but lots are young lesbian women for whom trans seems to be better choice

HDDD · 17/03/2021 15:38

How can a non-linear journey of transition be supported with a GRC? You get one, you give it back, you get another?

highame · 17/03/2021 15:37

Mermaids wanting age lowering to 16. Raising the fact that too young to make such big decisions. ooohhhh listening - so is implying that kids should not be challenged. Disingenuous. The reversal is incredible

highame · 17/03/2021 15:34

Mermaids - they have been allowed to give evidence even though there was no real requirement as this wasn't being considered. Lower age to 16 and GRA.

In case anyone not twigged, this is the other speaker: www.stonewall.org.uk/people/nancy-kelley

Just following this...

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 17/03/2021 15:30

I'm interested in the fact that they all seem to be denying that Stonewall et al are trying to remove sex exemptions.

Its written on their damn website:
www.stonewall.org.uk/women-and-equalities-select-committee-inquiry-transgender-equality

highame · 17/03/2021 15:29

Women's spaces being discussed and that people have been saying transwomen unsafe. Saying they aren't and only one study. Saying age matters? Older trans people more likely to offend but the younger ones don't have criminal convictions. Low level criminal actions because they weren't in mainstream - who the hell is she. Trans inclusive can work extremely well.

Boy are they being polite! EA2010 important part of overall conversation. Talks to police trainees - they all do. Apparently - did you know that just going in for a pee doesn't commit any offence but a cic (forgive me) woman raising a fuss is committing a crime?????

Changemusthappen · 17/03/2021 15:29

FFS - if you make a fuss if trans woman is in the ladies you are breaking the law.

All women are affected by a man using single sex facilities.

highame · 17/03/2021 15:22

Remove women's rights is what they want. Ben Bradshaw asking about conflict with women's rights.

Don't advocate for removal of sex. Bar is very high to exclude transwomen

jeaux90 · 17/03/2021 15:21

Nancy lies about the legislation again. It's not gender identity.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 17/03/2021 15:21

Thanks for the heads up. Listening now.

highame · 17/03/2021 15:20

No panel, no nothing, just some tick boxes. Nightmare! In other words lets just have self-id with a bit of paperwork

Changemusthappen · 17/03/2021 15:20

sorry 'sex' ISN'T mentioned

Changemusthappen · 17/03/2021 15:19

Listening. I just can't believe that someone who climbed up the ranks of BA and become a pilot as a man thinks they can then say they are a woman AND then BA sends this person to schools to speak to girls about becoming a pilot. Do these people really think our young people are stupid?

Anyway, I notice 'sex' is mentioned, just feeling the gender you are, sigh.

highame · 17/03/2021 15:19

OOhhh naughty - nice little earner for the judges. Lets attack everyone and undermine their credibility. Just little niggles that get underneath the skin

jeaux90 · 17/03/2021 15:16

Did Nancy just say that abuse mainly happens within Cis gender relationships? Like there is no coercive control going on here? I'm a bit Shock

Voteinvain · 17/03/2021 15:15

Thanks for those links Leafstamp

highame · 17/03/2021 15:15

Don't know who it is on the panel and want to know because then you can nobble them!!!!!!! A panel of strangers - of course they bloody are

Leafstamp · 17/03/2021 15:14

Anyone know who "Ben" is?

OP posts:
Leafstamp · 17/03/2021 15:12

@highame

Got on the right side of the Secretariat???? what does that mean. I think it means that someone trans has direct links to the board (well the admin) who look at issuing GRC
Blatant admission of improper practice taking place.

@highame

Has said Spousal consent particularly offensive, Should be a conversation, well Tinsel bet that's pleasing. Consent at moment is hostage taking. I am getting so bloody angry
Agreed.

The argument seems to be it's ok for the trans person to change the terms of the marriage but it's not ok for the other party to object.

They consistently misrepresent what Spousal consent means in practice.
Leafstamp · 17/03/2021 15:09

@Voteinvain

I know the legal bod from Mermaids who are the other 2?
