Let's not forget that the Minister for the Cabinet Office, that is, Michael Gove is listed on the ruling as an interested party.

This is brilliant.

I’d have loved to be a fly on the wall during the ONS conversations with their legal team, to hear what finally persuaded them to admit defeat.

Well done FPFW!!

I wonder what they will do about our donations, I’m happy for them to keep mine, but I’d also maybe like half of it back if that’s an option, to donate to another cause.

This is great news, FPFW. So now we have it confirmed in law — sex is biological and cannot be identified out of. Which leaves the GRA looking like the legal fiction that we all know it is.

Has anyone done an FOI to try and find out who it was who encouraged the ONS to adopt this policy? Was Stonewall behind it?

Yay! Excellent news to start the day! Well done FPFW, and thanks for persevering. This was important. It would have been another big step towards erasure of women as a sex class.

Fantastic news. I’m so relieved about this. I attended one of the focus groups the ONS did a couple of years ago. They used ‘Cis’ throughout. Made points about privacy. Told me I must have a ‘female gender identity’ if I was a women. Was an absolute shambles.

I wrote to them after and gave them feedback but never heard anything. Got the distinct impression they just ignored it. Very pleased with this outcome
