Interesting that recent posters are noticing the link to the RCP going back since time

If SU are as closely allied with the Global Women's Strike / Crossroads Women's Centre as they appear to be on social media (I have attached an example - there are many others) this is not really surprising

The few people I knew who were involved in the GWS back in the early 90s were members of the RCP

It was very strange as other activist groups all heard rumours that the GWS was funded by the CIA.

These things are always very murky but I suspect that the CIA rumours were created to concceal a more obvious connection to different intelligence services

It's clearly an old profile, she lives in London now as she's at uni, yet her address on there isn't London.

Feminists trying to make out she is a crisis actor/plant rather than a female arrested after protesting male violence against women is just weird. Whatever her beliefs about transgenderism, or whether she is indeed a member of sisters uncut, she is still a woman arrested without law-breaking - when there were men there who were actually being violent!

@continuallyconflating

Thank you for those links.

I found a 26 page discourse by someone called don milligan which was extremely interesting.

I also tried to find out more about Helena Edwards and came up empty handed.

Rationally, she may have written under an assumed name to avoid becoming the centre of another storm. Many on Twitter agree with her. I really don't know what to make of it. If she is a genuine friend of course she has a right to her opinion, and to publish it where she likes.

Right now I'm very jittery about this whole event.

I am so so sad for Sarah Everard and her family right now.

@MmeLaraque

Checking Patsy's back story, there are so many reports/stories of her being an actress/paid to be there. How many people will have the critical thinking skills to look past *that?
They asked her about that specifically on TV this morning. She said that was a very old profile from years ago and she is now at University. She’s not an actress

@happydappy2

I still find it bizarre that the 1st words out of Patsys mouth, on camera, were, something about protecting trans women and c*S women .....I do feel the vigil was hijacked by people with ulteria motives. Women suffer violence for different reasons from trans women because we are a different biological sex.
Protecting ciswomen and transwomen, and then that the next thing is more and bigger protests. And she didn’t mention Sarah at all in the clip I saw. So yes, a definite hijack - all about the trans, and kicking off, and nothing about a sad and thoughtful vigil in Sarah’s memory.
continuallyconflating · 15/03/2021 21:27

As for Spiked, off to educate myself on that one - thank you

@MistressoftheDarkSide I find the back story to Spiked and those connected to be incredibly odd. It's a rabbit hole I've not gone down to far as it seems one filled with a hall of mirrors designed to confound and confuse

George Monbiot has been watching them for years
Invasion of the Entryists
www.theguardian.com/education/2003/dec/09/highereducation.uk2

And I find it jaw dropping that this lot who've been hijacking and undermining activists for years are now ensconced in No10

Patsy has drunk the kool aid but that does not in any way take a way the fact that policing was utterly inappropriate and OTT it does also not make her behaviour beforehand deserving of arrest

A bit less focus on her and a bit more on Sarah Everard
and all the other women killed by men
would be useful

@rosetylersbiggun

I just checked my own video of Patsy being thrown on the ground and her mask comes off while she's on the ground.

They put her on the ground, she remains still while the press race over from the other side of the bandstand to take photos. The police hold her down and hold her still and she doesn't resist.

The police then start pulling her up, and at that point she starts slightly resisting, and that's when he mask comes off.

In this photo you can see her mask in the process of coming off (the left ear strap around her left ear, and the rest of the mask on the floor).

There we are. Simple explanation.
WarriorN · 15/03/2021 20:38

I can see the mask rose.

Someone also nips in an does or says something on one of the films. It's right at the end of this. I d actually wondered if someone removed it for her as it can be hard to breathe if you're panicking

The photo of her with the mask on, looking at the camera, that would be fairly easy to fake, no?

FFS just how desperate are people to dismiss the women and promote random shit from facebook.

Here is the original picture and the (well credentialled) photographer's account. Obviously its only the Times and a fairly well known photographer so nowhere near as reliable as random FOAF on shitbook.

Yes obviously us girlies should all sit quietly at home, making sure we don't do anything to upset the status quo, lighting a tea light that no-one cares about. Until the men tell us its the "right time".

Meanwhile in Manchester:

West Yorkshire:

In my entire life it has never been "the right time" for women to speak up. It never will be so we do it anyway.

Time stamp 7.26. Mask in process of falling off.

Re the post from the PO.

Just dropping in a reminder that we have been here before. Same tactics.

I was hacked,' says woman whose account claimed hospital boy photo was staged
Woman denies posting false information that photo of four-year-old was political stunt

A medical secretary has claimed her Facebook account was hacked after it was used to post false information claiming that a photograph of an ill boy on the floor at Leeds General Infirmary was staged for political purposes.

The woman denied posting the allegation that four-year-old Jack Willment-Barr’s mother placed him on the floor specifically to take the picture which became symbolic of the NHS’s troubles after it appeared on the front page of Monday’s Daily Mirror.

“I was hacked. I am not a nurse and I certainly don’t know anyone in Leeds,” said the woman, whose name the Guardian is withholding because she says she has received death threats. “I’ve had to delete everything as I have had death threats to myself and my children.”

The original viral post on the medical secretary’s Facebook account said “I am a nurse myself” and cited a “good friend of mine” at Leeds General

It claimed the boy in the photo “was in fact put there by his mother who then took photos on her mobile phone and then uploaded it to media outlets”. The post dismissed the pictures of the ill boy as “another Momentum propaganda story”, despite the fact the hospital had already apologised for his treatment.

She said she had tried to report the hack of her Facebook account to the advice service Action Fraud, although this claim could not be verified.

Claims that the photo was staged spread rapidly across social media and messaging services on Monday night, potentially reaching millions of people after being amplified by Conservative politicians, celebrities and some journalists.

The row over Jack’s treatment has become a central part of the election campaign, with Boris Johnson being criticised for repeatedly refusing to look at the photograph he was shown by a journalist during an interview on Monday.

Despite the claim that the photo was staged having been acknowledged as false, it has continued to spread on both Facebook and Twitter, largely through individual low-follower accounts cutting and pasting the original text to share with their friends.
One version, posted by a man who claims to work for the British army’s intelligence corps, has received 2,000 shares on Facebook; another, from a person saying they were a former soldier, has received a further 500.

The same claim was shared on Twitter, where it was spread by much more significant accounts. The Telegraph columnist Allison Pearson retweeted screenshots of the Facebook page to her followers twice, telling them “I presume this is genuine”, and adding later that the photo was “100% faked”. Her posts have received thousands of retweets between them.

According to the researcher Marc Owen Jones, Pearson is “perhaps the most influential proponent of the faked floor theory”, although a tweet from the former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen sent to Piers Morgan may have been seen by more people as a one-off.

While many of the users who initially posted the claims to Twitter shared it with identical wording, there is little indication that the false narrative is being artificially boosted by automated accounts.

Twitter metadata shows the vast majority of the tweets were posted through the social network’s website or smartphone apps, and the accounts sharing them overwhelmingly appear to be those of real people with an interest in politics.

Despite claims of a staged photo, Leeds General Infirmary has confirmed that Jack did suffer due to an exceptionally busy week

Our hospitals are extremely busy at the moment and we are very sorry that Jack’s family had a long wait in our emergency department,” said Dr Yvette Oade, the chief medical officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS trust.

“We are extremely sorry that there were only chairs available in the treatment room, and no bed. This falls below our usual high standards, and for this we would like to sincerely apologise to Jack and his family.

I have to say I was looking at pictures of patsy and the pictures of a red head in previous SU protests (others than posted here) and I'm not actually sure they're the same person. Different bone structure or the brow and jaw.

It was also about 6 years ago so she would be a lot younger.

happydappy2 · 15/03/2021 20:26

Surely someone can find time stamps of each photo? We’ve all been fooled by social media before....it’s pretty easy to manipulate the narrative

JosieJarker · 15/03/2021 20:21

I hate to say it, but I agree with you happy.

MercyBooth · 15/03/2021 20:17

@happydappy2 Its not 1989 any more. Just so you know

NewYearNewTwatName · 15/03/2021 20:17

But it is the same mask she was wearing when they dragged her off the edge of the bandstand in the footage of the the event on the night, which has been used in the bbc when interviewing one of the other woman. Samefootage is also in one of the links in the thread.

MercyBooth · 15/03/2021 20:15

Its disrespectful to put words in her familys mouth.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/news/14338769/sarah-everards-family-call-for-positive-change/amp/

"Andrea Everard said of the crowd: “All they were doing was showing support for Sarah and other women victims of appalling crime.
“I hope Sarah’s death can bring about some positive change.”

Nick said: “We’re grateful for all the love. We appreciate that Kate went. The support is overwhelming. Thank you to everybody.

ListeningQuietly · 15/03/2021 20:14

There is no evidence anywhere over the past year of COVID spreading at any outdoor event.
(eg the 500,000 people on Bournemouth beach last summer)
Cheltenham festival has indoor bars, toilets, restaurants and people arrived on crowded public transport
