It turns out I'm a SuperLesbian

Not sure how I feel about this but it's winding up the TRAs an awful lot.

I guess SuperLesbian is preferable to vagina fetishist or gynophile and at least everyone knows where they stand.

It turns out I'm a SuperLesbian

I need a key.

nauticant · 13/03/2021 08:13

It requires some thinking about but it's #superstraightfoward to understand. Years of trans activism have pushed hard the argument that transwomen are women (TWAW) and therefore if you are a straight man or a lesbian, then transwomen need to be part of your dating pool. If you say "actually, no" then you are transphobic. Therefore, under trans activist pressure straight doesn't mean "straight". It's bonkers but you would be depressed to see how far this has spread. Most people don't believe it but know better than to say so and incur the wrath of very angry and malicious people, who are often motivated to get people dismissed from their jobs.

#superstraight has been invented to take the piss out of this nonsense but to make a serious point. If a straight man says he's #superstraight or a lesbian says she's #superlesbian then they are explicitly rejecting transwomen as potential sexual partners.

Why bother you might ask? Simple, #superstraight is a new identity category of sexuality and one of the fundamental tenets of the trans activists' religion is that anyone's asserted identity is valid and to deny its validity is one of the worst crimes possible. This means that trans activists could keep quiet about their rapey nonsense, or they can attack and show themselves to be massive hypocrites and give a clear demonstration that their gender identity ideology is a load of rubbish and is actually harmful.

Helleofabore · 13/03/2021 08:04

And now in true TRA style the history of superstraight has been rewritten and people now believe the term was created by nazis on 4chan

And I am sure we will discover that the 16 year old has been funded by the far right evangelists as well. I am sure he got a package of money dropped on his doorstep with a note detailing the action plan.

SpiderinaWingMirror · 13/03/2021 07:23

But surely a woman who wants sex with a man that identifies now as a woman is more, erm, niche than women who want sex with women born with vaginas?
I'm starting to think that in my early 50s I've lived too long for this kind of shite!
I was a teen/early 20s in the 1980s. Sometimes I think gay rights, as it user to be known, has made huge strides in a generation and then I throw my hands up in despair

aweegc · 13/03/2021 07:09

@SpiderinaWingMirror

Have I got this right? I am a woman attracted to men. Like biological men that were born with a penis? This makes me Superstraight? My mate, who is a woman and attracted to women that were born with a vagina is now a SuperLesbian? Why did we stop being straight and lesbian and who actually thinks this shit up?
Yes, that's right.

But a few years ago it changed without any big fanfare. When people started defining woman as a feeling rather than an adult human female (and vice versa but less common in discussions). So then a woman in a heterosexual marriage became a lesbian when her husband of 20 years, for example, announced he was actually a woman.

Actual lesbians were/are told to suck "lady dick" or they're bigots (ie straight men who decide they're women are now lesbians).

It goes on. But until now the attacks have been on women and a little on gay men who said they're not attracted to women, even if the woman is a man. Straight men have only in the past week been waking up to this and they don't seem to like the idea that their straightness is supposed to include having sex with men.

Rockinmomma · 13/03/2021 07:07

It started as a joke/satire by that guy but it gained traction and was embraced within days
As PPs have said, it sent TRAs into meltdown
The # superstraight was banned as were the subreddits
And now in true TRA style the history of superstraight has been rewritten and people now believe the term was created by nazis on 4chan

You really had to be there, for a time it was amazing seeing so many people peak and support each other

#SuperStraightWoman

SapphosRock · 12/03/2021 23:02

#superlesbian #supergay and #superstraight are all going strong on Twitter. Quite enlightening to say the least.

Isn't Reddit the platform with Aimee Challenor & Partner as mods?

Wilsonwilson · 12/03/2021 22:38

Reddit is a cesspool. The only sub about actual women left seems to be female dating strategy, which although only lightly feminist probably has its days numbered. No organic movement will ever be allowed to flourish there, too captured.

Hulo · 12/03/2021 22:27

One thing that struck me during my time on the short lived superstraight subreddit was how much light was brought to the issue for a whole new demographic i.e. young, straight men

Gay men (supergays) and lesbians (superlesbians), especially lesbians, were posting with all the stories so familiar to us here about being shamed and bullied over their sexual orientation and people were pretty horrified. They had no idea how bad it was and for women in particular

And then, as superstraights, they found themselves banned from other subreddits and receiving online abuse from TRAs telling them to die and kill themselves in graphic detail, though funnily enough no rape threats.

By this point, peaktrans.

No wonder it was banned

ChattyLion · 12/03/2021 22:01

Nauticant, Sunset, Zinco thanks for explaining! Grin

SapphosRock · 12/03/2021 12:51

Indeed nauticant. The lack of self awareness among some TRAs never fails to astound me.

'You need to include this group of people as potential sexual partners or else I'll kill your mum' isn't really the way to win friends and influence people.

I wonder how many more lesbians will be converted to SuperLesbians by this.

Mumdiva99 · 12/03/2021 12:27

Apologies I meant to quote @SapphosRock

Although Nauticant is probably Super too!!

nauticant · 12/03/2021 12:27

Yes. Plus some bonus features. The first being that they didn't just disagree, it's that thousands of them have been all over social media denouncing those having their own sexuality as being transphobic. The second being the eye-watering number of death threats they made. The third being them breaking the golden rule: attack the women but never go after the men.

Mumdiva99 · 12/03/2021 12:26

@nauticant

For those new to this, this is the video that kicked things off last weekend and there's been a massive flamewar going on over this across the social media platforms since:

twitter.com/Callum_TRFC_/status/1366900610876981251

The original tiktok account was closed down. Apparently the 16 year old boy who made the video wasn't too upset over the death threats he received himself but he deleted his account when his mum started to receive death threats.

Well that wasn't at all clear to me.....I wasn't aware of the difference in the cartoon figures from a black image to the blue/pink/white images......

Thanks for educating me! You are a super woman (that has nothing to do with your sexulaity).

FullofCurryandparatha · 12/03/2021 12:23

So to get this straight (no pun intended), people who are constantly campaigning for inclusivity and for all sexualities to be recognised and celebrated are getting really upset at sexuality being recognised and celebrated?

NecessaryScene1 · 12/03/2021 11:43

I'm genuinely confused over why it's such a big deal.

Because you're dealing with people who do not have a normal/healthy attitude to people's desires or needs.

The reaction makes perfect sense as long as you realise that it's coming from people who think other people are just supporting players.

That's one of the most effective things about the Super concept - it makes superphobes jump up and down and reveal what they think about other people having their own needs. For some of us it's confirmation of what we know, but many people are seeing it for the first time.

It takes a while to fully grasp how narcissistic the superphobes are. Sure, they're also often homophobic and misogynist as well as superphobic, but the narcissism is the root cause. They really just discriminate against everyone who isn't themselves.

SapphosRock · 12/03/2021 11:31

I'm genuinely confused over why it's such a big deal.

Surely it would be really helpful on OLD?

If I was on the lookout for a partner it would help me to know if they were Lesbian or SuperLesbian.

If I was a TW I would find it helpful to know if a woman would be open to a relationship. I'd also wish to avoid pursuing a relationship with a SuperLesbian which would just waste everybody's time.

OP posts:
Zinco · 12/03/2021 11:26

I’m confused. If transwomen are women, and transmen are men, why do we need these new labels to distinguish between trans people’s identity labels and biological sex? Isnt this ‘transphobic’ by its own standards?

Because if society is going along with the idea that TWAW, but you are only into e.g. biological women, (if male), then that itself may create the need to specify different types of "straightness".

That, and the idea I think, was that by claiming it as a sexual identity, the position should therefore be respected as other identities are.

Zinco · 12/03/2021 11:10

As many people pointed out, "superstraight" actually makes more sense as a sexuality than a lot of the other new concepts being thrown out there. So it can be viewed as kind of a joke, yes, but also kind of serious.

How does the "tolerant" side react? The side that says you need to respect people's identities? Well they didn't like this identity at all!

I was reading an argument that it's not a real sexuality and genitals are just a "preference". Yeah, because it's the same sort of thing as liking tall men or a certain hair colour.

FindTheTruth · 12/03/2021 11:09

super sunlight

SapphosRock · 12/03/2021 11:04

Oh wow nauticant I didn't realise it had been so controversial.

Looks like the Supers will be going underground.
