Oh Charlie.

Naughty.

PotholeParadies · 10/03/2021 13:55

So we've sorted out that stickers are very bad.

What is the legal position of good samaritans who make cute coats for statues of dogs?

MaudTheInvincible · 10/03/2021 13:51

@ErrolTheDragon

I'm just imagining the suffragettes being given pious talks about their criminality.

During force-feeding would have been a good time to deliver a sanctimonious lecture; not much opportunity for backchat.

If I lived in Scotland I'd be repositioning my tubs of purple and white crocuses (with green foliage, obv) somewhere more public. Primulas come in purple and white too, if anyone fancies some literal digging.

TheSpottedZebra · 10/03/2021 13:30

How curious.

Anyway, there's a fair wind blowing so I'll put my washing out

Stickers are just the worst. The polis should definitely definitely be called to deal with it

We were, hopefully with that message and also cleaning tips delivered the thread can now move on.

Any more ideas what to do with haberdashery, wool etc?

TheSpottedZebra · 10/03/2021 13:15

Eh, are we having criminal damage mansplained to us?

Outwithreason · 10/03/2021 13:01

I hope you realise that was a joke by the way. It has been a light-hearted thread.

Anyway I am annoyed by the hyperbole of the MSPs'reaction, especially after reading on BBC News about the targeted harassment of a nearby MP. I hope Christina and Kirsty take a look at themselves.

PurpleHoodie · 10/03/2021 13:00

Good suggestion.

Thanks.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/03/2021 12:58

You've made that point, is there anything else you'd like to contribute rather than repeating yourself?

PurpleHoodie · 10/03/2021 12:58

Thanks Errol.

Loads of tributes (flowers/ribbons/signs) up around here for decades. Anti-knife crime/relatives died at the scene type things.

Not one, has been prosecuted for them.

Burning the nation's flags, slur graffiti on peoples homes etc - yes.

jj1968 · 10/03/2021 12:57

@Outwithreason

Now you're just being the eejit.
No, just pointing out loads of people have been prosecuted for criminal damage for stickers, I nearly got arrested for it myself once.
ErrolTheDragon · 10/03/2021 12:56

How about you tie a white card message of some sort into your purple and green ribbons, PurpleHoodie?

Outwithreason · 10/03/2021 12:54

Now you're just being the eejit.

jj1968 · 10/03/2021 12:53

@Outwithreason

There was no damage.
Well there was, legally speaking.
Outwithreason · 10/03/2021 12:50

There was no damage.

jj1968 · 10/03/2021 12:50

@Outwithreason

No one is crying. Everyone is laughing at the overreaction!
Well, as I said, if someone was personally targetted for their political views and their home or workplace was damaged then I imagine quite a lot of people would react by calling the police. Important to get it on record if nothing else in case it escalates.
Outwithreason · 10/03/2021 12:44

No one is crying. Everyone is laughing at the overreaction!

ErrolTheDragon · 10/03/2021 12:42

They're not crying, they're laughing.

jj1968 · 10/03/2021 12:41

@ErrolTheDragon

I think there's a place for illegal political activity, I've quite freely admitted I've done it myself. The point really is that you can't expect the police not to be contacted after you've just vandalised an MP's office. By all means break the law, but don't then go crying when the laws that apply to everyone else also apply to you.
jj1968 · 10/03/2021 12:36

@Ereshkigalangcleg

I'd also advise against announcing you were planning on committing a crime on a public internet forum but it's a bit late for that I guess.

Like all the Twitter transactivists declaring their intention to deliberately give false information on their census return, you mean?

Well they are quite clearly happy to be prosecuted to make their point and good on them. I don't get the impression the sticker people are seeking that kind of attention or they wouldn't be anonymous.
ErrolTheDragon · 10/03/2021 12:36

It should be all 3 really but those two will suffice if you've no white, I'm sure.

PurpleHoodie · 10/03/2021 12:34

Are the colours purple, green and white for the ribbons; or will purple and green suffice?

Thanks.

PurpleHoodie · 10/03/2021 12:32

Illegal, innit.
