Just search "buy me a coffee glinner". I'm off to do the same now!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 09/03/2021 16:35

The key thing for me is that questions are being asked now. Be it prisons, puberty blockers, social media or the census these are decisions that should be made openly and challenged openly. No debate is toxic.

ArabellaScott · 09/03/2021 16:33

How does one buy Glinner a coffee?

Cailleach1 · 09/03/2021 16:31

Absolutely, know the charge(s) against you. The vexatious checkers.

Thecatonthemat · 09/03/2021 16:31

Great speech from Glinner...said it all and evidence from Helen. Got the feeling that it was the detail of how , than what and to whom that interested the committee more. So how to organise the free speech notion in companies that make their own rules on acceptability .but hearing the truth of what is happening should hopefully have done some good, in conjunction with all the other stuff happening.

Cailleach1 · 09/03/2021 16:30

Yes, only state sex numbers-legal sex numbers.

Your ancestor could disappear if you had no way if knowing if your great granny became a legal man.

NotTerfNorCis · 09/03/2021 16:28

This thread is so positive! It's a pleasure to read. Well done, Glinner, Helen and everyone else who has been campaigning for women's rights today.

Fallingirl · 09/03/2021 16:28

Helen’s mass reporting data transparency request would be great if applied to MN too.

Oh yesss. That would be very useful indeed.

teawamutu · 09/03/2021 16:27

Heart-rendering and inspiring. Thank you Helen and @Glinner

LunaHeather · 09/03/2021 16:27

What's happened to Glinner's marriage? I hope his wife wasn't harrassed but she probably was, I'm guessing.

I still cannot believe we got here, I mean this whole mess.

RozWatching · 09/03/2021 16:25

I'm going to watch it later but thank you Helen & Graham Star Star

ValancyRedfern · 09/03/2021 16:23
@glinner I haven't been able to watch but hearing what you have sacrificed to stand alongside women and amplify our voices is just killing me. You didn't have to do this, no one made you, but you knew it was right. I have so much respect for you. Thank you.
I echo this. Thank you.

FindTheTruth · 09/03/2021 16:23

Buying Glinner a coffee after that speech

bourbonne · 09/03/2021 16:23

And also, thank you Glinner. (Also for Father Ted, which I've been re-watching, and which shows beyond doubt your humanity and humour).

FindTheTruth · 09/03/2021 16:22

Very difficult to reverse engineer Cardinal. A well known trans woman on twitter said she put female for sex and non binary for gender identity... so there's no way to count her as a trans woman

bourbonne · 09/03/2021 16:21

@Cailleach1

So, in effect statisticians can subtract the GRC 'legal sex' elements, almost as if the ONS had asked sex at birth. In line with what the question always was.
Can they, though? I can see how they could (maybe) do this for the very top-line totals (e.g. "we have 30 million women, minus 5000 male-born people with a GRC"), but I would guess it's impossible to apply this at a more granular level, e.g. number of female Buddhists in Bognor Regis aged 65+.

This.

I am hugely grateful.

Flowers I’m so sorry for the toll it’s taken, and wish you the very best.

CardinalLolzy · 09/03/2021 16:16

Going back to the ONS implication that "we could reverse engineer a sex + "trans identity" response to work out sex" (my paraphrase) that doesn't work does it? If I put I'm female but I i.d. as having some trans identity, would they think I'm male?

MsMarvellous · 09/03/2021 16:15

CardinalLolzy · 09/03/2021 16:15

Afaict, there are some legally arguments, but so far they are also arguing that 1) there should be some actual investigation into whether any incident took place and whether there was any hate there and 2) there is a chilling effect of the possibility of anything being 'recorded' if someone interprets it as hate (totally my interpretation)

Iamhangingin · 09/03/2021 16:14

Just finished watching Helen and Glimmer. Wow...... Well done! What a day☺️

@FindTheTruth

ok what's happening with the Harry Miller Case?
Best bet is to follow the Twitter thread - must admit the argument gets a bit legalistic at times for me but is brilliantly recorded and updated quickly.

Thread sort of starts here

Ok what's happening with the Harry Miller Case?

It was very dry and hard to follow and it's continuing tomorrow too.
