Thanks. Yep, Just copying from the FPFW thread

GAHgamel · 09/03/2021 12:26

AdHominemNonSequitur · 09/03/2021 12:25

JE: it is possible to have a range of answers [to what is your sex].

JE referring to Hansard now "I don't we're in Hansard territory are we" says Judge

RedDogsBeg · 09/03/2021 12:23

@Datun

There is no 'sex act' that sets out what sex can be

Excellent.

So this same judge can tell the MOJ to fuck right off with the automatic placement of rapists in women's prisons, on the basis of their GRC.

Mic drop moment, Datun.Grin

Jeez the contortions, twists, backtracking and level of sheer bloody illogicality that is used to uphold this ideology never ceases to amaze me.

Xanthangum · 09/03/2021 12:23

3pm I think @Justanothernameonthewall

Could someone take over formally live tweeting at 12.30?. Need to cycle my son for a school lateral flow test.

Datun · 09/03/2021 12:21

I hope they get to the bit that if sex is made up on the census (or anywhere else), then so is sexual orientation.

CriticalCondition · 09/03/2021 12:21

Huge thanks to those doing the live commentary - not an easy job. I'm sitting in my car after my jab glued to this. And enjoying the sunshine in more ways than one!

RedDogsBeg · 09/03/2021 12:19

@AdHominemNonSequitur

JE: 'Sex' is wide enough to be covered by any document issued by the state. There is no 'sex act' that sets out what sex can be. /40

[hmmmm what's the GRA2004 then?]

No discrimination on the basis of sex, the Equality Act, etc., I seriously hope the Judge is seeing right through this risible nonsense.

AdHominemNonSequitur · 09/03/2021 12:18

[So despite the public consultation on GRA reform and government deciding sex cannot be self-identified. The ONS says you don't need a GRC to have sex legally recognised because it can be what's written on any document] /41

ArabellaScott · 09/03/2021 12:17

Perfectly understandable, Sia. I also don't publicise my address, I am sure many women have similar reasons - how many stalkers/violent exes are there out there? Lots, is the depressing answer.

justanothernameonthewall · 09/03/2021 12:17

Delurking (not original user name, you know the drill- penis beaker posh ham etc, etc), to say thanks for this thread! Been trying to keep up on twitter too but I'm running about like a crazy person today, so can't follow continuously.

Does anyone know what time Helen and Glinner are up or have I missed updates?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/03/2021 12:17

'sex act'

McDuffy · 09/03/2021 12:15

Thank you live tweeters and amusing commentators. I've enjoyed the updates so far... and, appropriately for a "sunlight" day, the sun is out!

AdHominemNonSequitur · 09/03/2021 12:15

JE: There is no such thing as 'legal sex'.
Judge says it means "sex as recognised at law".
Claimant says this means birth certificate or GRC /39

GP phone call these days or a call with the likes of 'GenderGP'

AdHominemNonSequitur · 09/03/2021 12:10

So a 10 minute Gp appointment then

Siablue · 09/03/2021 12:09
Sia, that info won't be shared for 100 years: census.gov.uk/your-data-and-security
Thank you. That’s ok. In a hundred years we will both be dead. I do panic over the stupidest things.

AdHominemNonSequitur · 09/03/2021 12:09

JE: sex can be formally acknowledged by the state as 'passport sex'. You need a letter from a doctor to get one. You can't just turn up at passport office and self-ID as female. /38

Manderleyagain · 09/03/2021 12:09

'Passport sex' sounds like a rather specialist interest (nudge nudge wink wink). Sorry for lowering the tone.

I am really interested in the defence. They are trying to get the fact that sex could be social, legal, or physical or presumably other things, agreed by a judge. Is that in ONS's interests, or the public's interest? Or just in the interest of ppl who want to remove sex from public policy & replace it with self defined gender?

What has the census been doing all these years collecting stats on nebulous porous categories? Have they always thought that? Even in 2016 they were saying sex was biologically determined according to fpfw evidence.
