Omid Djalili on women's rights issues - not funny at all

Counting down till Omid appears here and claims I'm purveying online hate by suggesting women might tie a feminist knitting project to a bench near an arts centre.

I don't believe in cancellation- if other people want to go see him, it's their money.. It would be rather hypocritical if I did. I'll buy JK Rowling books and other people can buy Djalili tickets. Besides, our struggling theatres need the money.

But I'm not above yarnbombing, so with that in mind, here are some dates and locations if anyone else wants to support their local haberdashery by buying craft materials. Or making #IStandWithDrEM stickers .

Wowsers. I mean, good lord. At this point my son would be told to go to his room and not come out until he had thought long and hard about his behaviour. If he persisted, it'd be a technology ban for a few days too.

The guy who tried to use David Baddiel has tweeted this about Dr Em. The fucking cheek.

It is fairly clear that he has not following legal advice. I doubt any lawyer would tell him that what he really needs to be doing is to go back on twitter and kick off again.

Sadly, I think it will all blow over for him because it isn't a problem if you bully women. That makes me very angry.

I expect to see it blamed on lockdown related stress and as a result the balance of his mind was disturbed.

I don't normally let tossers on twitter get to me but I swear I'll put my foot through the tv if he comes on. It's like some mad lockdown fever. His agent should take his phone away.

I'd imagine if he comes to his senses he'll go on a deleting spree. One tweet worth saving is when he agrees that he's acting like a stalker:

I don't know who Dr Em (M?) is or what she said. I don't think he called Selina Todd a Nazi although I can see how it could be interpreted as that.

She made claims about other groups he thinks are Nazis based on the original tweet. Given that the first tweet is ambiguous, the idea you can then ascribe opinions to him he has never voiced based purely on speculation is arguably defamatory. Can't see it ever getting to court though, especially if the tweets have been removed and he probably should take a break and have a lie down.

His repeated tweeting on this is making him look unhinged.

She went a bit further than that, and he didn't say feminists are Nazis, that implication was just assumed by the people attacking him. I think if DrEm's removed the tweet, I can't tell because she's gone private, then it's petty to pursue it and it won't get very far, but if she digs her heels in then he could well have a case

He did call the Finnish lady tweeting as @Tarunperin "Adolph" and "Eva Braun" . I don't see how that can be interpreted as anything other than calling her a Nazi. I'm not sure how you can jokingly call someone a Nazi.

If the original tweet was a 'joke', aren't all the other tweets also a jokes?
