Solidarity in Aldi today!

This is my first thread in a very long time but I wanted to share the uplifting and fabulous experience I had today in Aldi😂

I reached 'peak' during the last lockdown and lurk regularly on here while trying to make sense of the madness.
DH is supportive to a degree but very nervous of me being vocal about my GC views as we are both teachers. I am a middle leader in a secondary school and he worries about me getting sackedConfused
So I can't discuss this much IRL.

Anyway, queing outside Aldi today and saw a woman a few people ahead of me with a 'Woman
Noun
adult human female' tote bag. I was thrilled and as soon as there was an opportunity (by the fruit and vegWink) I told her I liked her bag and that I knew what it meant.
She said I had made her day; I replied I she had made mine. Then she said 'Solidarity sister and see you on the next march'
We went on our separate ways but bloody hell it was brilliant. To vocalise it and be recognised. Felt a bit emotional and even now re-writing it, am a bit teary.

Just wanted to share. It was wonderful.

My bag pens and stickers arrived at the weekend from Posie, also Suffragette face masks from The Radical Tea Towel Co.

Wore mask, badge and bag to shop on IWD, got a number of quiet thumbs up going round the shop ( From women) and a few smiles and one approving chat in the car park. Result!

For those asking whether it’s safe to wear the tshirts/ carry the bags. I have a AHF tshirt and hoodie. Have worn them both a lot, including in central london. I’ve never had any grief.

My stickers have arrived (and some freebies too) - thinking of where to deploy them once lockdown is lifted (can’t use them all in supermarket toilets...) and found some badges to order from Wild Womyn - ‘ Female biology is not an identity’ and ‘ Female is not a feeling’.

Also loving the Wild Womyn stickers - this one should be in ALL female toilets!

Some people just can't keep their hands off of anything that's not theirs can they. Women's rights, our name, our legal protections, our merchandise. If I spot it anywhere where it's clearly ripped off I'm reporting it.

I use my bag in Tesco every week. I probably need to be more careful in case I’m outed as the local sticker woman. Not received any thumbs-up yet but did get a “nice bag” from a woman on my way to work a long time ago. That cheered me up no end.

Such oppressive, indoctrinated authoritarian behaviour really brings home that the people trying to stop women fighting against TWAW aren’t just enemies of feminism. They’re enemies of freedom and reason and individualism. Very frightening.
