There you go, fixed that for you.

I don’t understand how the Guardian can continue giving him a platform, it reflects on them terribly.

@Gncq

Please stop with your misinformation about custard, people.

You can run across oobleck which is cornstarch and water/milk of a certain ratio (and used as a base for custard if you're not making it from egg yolks).
But, oobleck is NOT custard, custard has more liquid in it, so you cannot and never will be able to run across custard.

Thank fuck someone is finally providing some much needed balance to the misinformation on this board.

Now, about this whole cult business. Let me guess, the newsletter is in the post along with my cheque from the (IIRC) American far right, right?

What if the oobleck identifies as custard?

Also, LOJ can fuck off with his tantrum and come back to me when he's calmed himself down and speak like a rational human being.

I think you’ll be in for a long wait ...

ThinkWittyThoughts · 25/01/2021 23:31

Oh lord I'm crying with laughter. Best thread in ages, and I nominated the middle-aged taekwondo thread for classics...

I love custard. Especially if you pour it cold over a piping hot pudding. Mmm.

NotBadConsidering · 25/01/2021 23:14

And if Talcum X was a pudding, what would he be?

Eve’s pudding, but he would have pears instead of apples and tell us all we were bigots for not accepting him as a genuine Eve.

dyslek · 25/01/2021 22:59

@TyroTerf

I'm up for some experimenting, but all I've got is a couple of tins. Nowhere near enough to fill a small paddling pool, let alone a swimming pool. Thinking of scaling down - I've got a bowl and I've got a hamster who loves running, should be a reasonable proxy, right?
your going to end up with a hampster in custerdy
dyslek · 25/01/2021 22:50

And if Talcum X was a pudding, what would he be?

hmm, I'm gona say something quite bitter, and unappealing.

a stale Rumbaba from the corner shop?

QueenoftheAir · 25/01/2021 22:49

Watch the video upthread! It’s awesome!

Ooo I’m behind, got side-tracked by LOJ in the bunker ....

FamilyOfAliens · 25/01/2021 22:47

“Said custard”

Though it was a bit sad. Especially compared with Waitrose Madagascan etc

FamilyOfAliens · 25/01/2021 22:46

@QueenoftheAir

As a non Newtonian fluid it’s both a solid and a liquid at the same time, which means you can run across a swimming pool full of it.

Pictures, or it didn’t happen.

Though I was a little perturbed at the custard runner having a little taste of sad custard when it had been mixed in a cement mixer Shock

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

I think you'd stand a better chance of running across a swimming pool full of trifle if there was a jelly layer between custard and sherry-soaked sponge. A sprinkling of flaked almonds all over the cream would increase traction.

I've got some M&S custard in the fridge. I think that may be breakfast sorted out.

Maybe a thick cake and jelly layer and then you wade through the custard and cream.

@OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow

You know that other thread about Sneery teens? Nope, doesn’t remind me of anyone. Morrison’s best custard is glorious too. M&S used to do cartons of fruit compote, topped with their custard and sometimes sprinkled with sugar and brûléed. That was me and dhs posh pud in the 90s. How do we stand on rice pudding (not a non Newtonian joke) thick enough to slice or runny. And if Talcum X was a pudding what would he be?
Sago. Or is it tapioca? Always think of it as frogspawn, anyway.

M-u-m-s-n-e-t

Maybe there is a hidden word in the name that explains this cult like insistence that sex has consequences and women need rights.

‘Ums’? ‘Snet’?

I think it's 'net'. We've all been ensnared. Grin
Furx · 25/01/2021 22:08

I’d like to see you try and run across a swimming pool full of Waitrose fresh Madagascan vanilla custard

Im
have nothing intelligent to contribute to the debate, but this is quite possibly most mumsnet statement I have ever read.

MindTheMinotaur · 25/01/2021 22:07

@FamilyOfAliens

Tyro

You know you can just pour it over a tablespoon and stick it in your mouth, don’t you?

I have that approach to Cognac when things are going tits up.
MichelleofzeResistance · 25/01/2021 22:07

First the weetabix and now the incredible swimming running hamster.

Feminists today....

Please film and share.
ArabellaScott · 25/01/2021 22:04

@Igneococcus

I've never even set foot inside a Waitrose Arabella I look longingly at the one in Helensburgh when I go past on the train (when not in lockdown) and maybe one day I'll make it to the one in Stirling but until then I'll make my own custard.
It's like going to supermarket heaven. Everything is more pretty and healthier and in Very Good Taste. Soothing classical music plays discreetly and subtle incense wafts over your skin while ruddy cheeked shelf stackers polish the floor in front of your trolley so that you can glide effortlessly from the organic quail to the deluxious quivering custard aisle. I come out in a kind of trance feeling somehow both cleansed and enriched despite being definitrly several degrees poorer.

And yes, I don't get out much.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 25/01/2021 22:02

I'm craving custard now

ah LOJ is a reminder to post this again

remember that time he slagged off women for having cleaners when he had a cleaner Grin

That video is brilliant. Thank you for posting it, I hadn't seen that one before.

The Great Custard Runs of 2021.

Sounds a bit weird when I say it out loud.
