Dear Owen Jones, we are not frightened of transgender people, we are frightened of men.

There you go, fixed that for you.

I love custard, maybe with a nice sponge pudding.

BreatheAndFocus · 25/01/2021 17:29

@HopeClearwater

I went to his Wikipedia page. Apparently his mum and dad rejected such stereotypes as blue and pink clothing to indicate boy / girl. Does he not see the contradiction here, between this and all the massively gender performative stuff beloved by the likes of the transgender middle-aged man who announces himself to be a woman and ‘proves it’ by dressing in a bloke’s stereotyped idea of a prostitute?
He’s drunk on his wokeness, and most importantly, this all gives him a green light to attack, patronise and sneer at women. He’s a jumped up little misogynist.

Custard however is fab - particularly the skin drools

MoltenLasagne · 25/01/2021 17:29

I'm gonna have bananas and custard tonight as a direct result of this thread.

zzizzer · 25/01/2021 17:26

Custard terrifies me. Wobbly horrible stuff, it shouldn't exist.

dyslek · 25/01/2021 17:26

@nauticant

Custard gets love from me for its thixotropic properties Deliriumoftheendless. For its eating experience, not so much.
Now surely this MUST be against the guidelines. How is this post still up?!

Hate speach if ever I saw it...

Kit19 · 25/01/2021 17:25

ah LOJ is a reminder to post this again

remember that time he slagged off women for having cleaners when he had a cleaner Grin

dyslek · 25/01/2021 17:23

@Deliriumoftheendless

Custard is awesome. As a non Newtonian fluid it’s both a solid and a liquid at the same time, which means you can run across a swimming pool full of it.

Is Jones anywhere near as interesting? No.

and its delicious!

A delicious non Newtonian fluid, it dosen't get much better than that Smile

AuntyFungal · 25/01/2021 17:23

I really want syrup sponge & custard.

ArabellaScott · 25/01/2021 17:19

oobleck, beg your pardon!

ArabellaScott · 25/01/2021 17:18

Custard? are you not thinking of oobloo/cornstarch?

Blubellsarebells · 25/01/2021 17:14

His friend on that Twitter thread finds someone commenting 'utterly terrifying'.
But women are not allowed to be afraid of men, in the real world.
Is irony dead or do words just have no meaning anymore.
Im lost.
Sick of oj today also.
Saw him on facebook earlier slagging off Rishi sunak.
Im no Tory but does it not occur to these numpties that the reason we have ended up with this shower is because there is no opposition.

Only if it’s made with custard powder, which contains cornflour, surely?

I’d like to see you try and run across a swimming pool full of Waitrose fresh Madagascan vanilla custard Grin

What?

You can run across custard?

boatyardblues · 25/01/2021 17:07

I’m enjoying the serious consideration of custard on this thread. 👍

ArabellaScott · 25/01/2021 17:06

@Barracker

Actually, let me add:

Dear Owen.
I'm not frightened of you either.
I know you're not interested in my sex.
But I choose to have intimate boundaries against your sex.
I choose not to be naked in a publicly shared changing room with you.
Or anyone of your sex.
I also choose not to compete in sports against you.
Or anyone of your sex.
I choose not to have intimate medical exams by you.
Or anyone of your sex.
And I reject the idea that a woman's political position or women's rights can properly by represented by you.
Or anyone of your sex.

This isn't fear, hatred or intolerance.
This is what it looks like when women say no to men and stand our ground.

Do adjust, dear.
There's an awful lot more to come.

Thank you, yes. This.

I wasn’t scared of Trans people but now I’ve seen what their activists are like I think it’s right to be wary. I don’t think that’s phobic?

boatyardblues · 25/01/2021 16:55

@PointBreakOrBadBoys2

Went over to Twitter to have a look, started to read it, noticed custard is trending and that seemed more interesting than LOJ's narrow-minded opinions.

Turns out a lot of people like custard.

I love custard. Owen Jones, not so much. 🤷‍♀️

Justhadathought · 25/01/2021 16:49

of men....

Justhadathought · 25/01/2021 16:49

I'm not frightened of me,. but I do have a natural guard/protective boundary when in certain intimate circumstances.

I am also conscious that women form a distinct social group based on certain characteristics - which is applicable worldwide, and in nature. The integrity of that grouping is important and the fact of its existence has consequences and material affects. That is what the women's movement and feminism is about.
