Women are now 'non', no longer a word to describe us

Shocking journalism from The Guardian.

Does Mouncey have gender disphoria? TW who suffer from gender disphoria, would it not increase their anxiety to change amongst biological women? I wouldn't have thought it would be affirming in any way.

Justhadathought · 24/01/2021 13:21

It's just breathtaking that people go along with this and don't think there's anything wrong with it. Only people who literally don't care about girls could possibly think this is OK

I think it more a case of trying to be doctrinally consistent. Once you start to question or critique any aspect of this ideology in practice, then everything starts to unravel - and that must be guarded against at all costs.

It must create intense cognitive dissonance.

SameO1d · 24/01/2021 13:09

Why have photos freely available in the public domain been deleted on this thread?

Why are photos of triumphant transwomen (MtoF) standing head-and-shoulders in height above the natal women they have beaten in female sport not allowed to be posted?

Why are photos that so starkly demonstrate the height, weight, muscle mass, strength and stamina advantages conferred by the body of a natal male born human that now identifies as a woman not permitted to be viewed?

Who doesn’t want us to see these photos, that so clearly and unambiguously highlight the biological advantages natal male bodies have over natal female bodies?

Who, indeed?

Yes indeed, @MichelleofzeResistance. I've recently stopped working in the Civil Service (UK), which (you may not know) waves the rainbow flag so hard that their b**y arms hurt.

I was put in the situation of having to get changed (for running) in a tiny 'ladies' changing/shower room, so undressing right down to my knickers (as we women have to wear sports bras, of course), in front of an individual who was clearly male.
I'm not just being sensitive, I've been sexually assaulted in the past.

If I'd complained I'd have lost my job, of course.

I am still so angry about this.

It's not just a theoretical issue. It's here, now.

EdgeOfACoin · 24/01/2021 12:49

So. Those pictures have been deleted.

I questioned the authenticity of those photos and was given fairly convincing evidence to show that they are real. Nobody has come back with any kind of counterclaim to show that the pictures were doctored in any way.

Yet they have been deleted anyway.

I am quite angry about this, but at the same time I think it speaks volumes.

Someone is monitoring this thread and someone doesn't want these pictures being seen.

Why not? Scared that people will see the truth for themselves?

Until someone makes a better argument to the contrary, that is the only conclusion I can draw.

SusannaSpider · 24/01/2021 12:41

MichelleofzeResistance

Yes, to all that. But out of all my female friends, there are only 2 women who I could discuss this with. One is the mum of an athlete, the other is a someone who plays league amateur sport (as do I). I play a mixed sport, and when you play with a male partner, the differences are clear, I think most women are under the impression that men and women are equal at most sports and would take offence at the suggestion that men are better. I think they would consider themselves feminists for believing that they are equal.
The one time I mentioned the changing room situation, I was shut down by one of the women who is a lesbian, saying that means you are uncomfortable sharing a changing room with me?! Erm, no because you are a woman.

MichelleofzeResistance · 24/01/2021 12:33

Is it important to teach the next generation of female children that they must always sacrifice themselves and their interests to serve the needs of male children?

Explain to me, please, why this is not fundamentally appalling?

MichelleofzeResistance · 24/01/2021 12:25

A heck of a lot of women apparently stupid enough to believe that the main purpose of female sport is for females to provide a loving, nurturing environment and a lovely experience for male people who are transitioning.

It isn't just the race either, it's the changing rooms. That quote effectively says those transitioning children require to be allowed to make use of female children for their wellbeing. That's the reality of it when you take the nice language away. Let's face it and talk about it: is it more important to nurture the well being of male children than for female children to have equal opportunity, privacy or even a voice in the decision taking these things away from them?

SusannaSpider · 24/01/2021 12:18

And so on, and so on. Hundreds of women and girls affected negatively already by just five examples of transgender athletes. It doesn’t need to get any bigger, it’s already too big.

Jesus, that's depressing. My point though was about the female athletes and women who are supportive of trans rights. They will only realise when girls can't ever win and it becomes futile to try. Which is even more bloody depressing. A heck of a lot of women aren't on board yet, despite the hundreds you mention who are affected.

Floisme · 24/01/2021 12:17

I'm quite looking forward to posters coming on this thread and explaining how we're over-reacting and how this is not only acceptable, but something to be celebrated.

Me too, especially as it's evident from the deletions that this thread is being watched.

NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2021 12:17

Sorry, 6 athletes. And I’m ashamed to say I don’t know the names of all these women and girls, only those who were more prominent in their loss like Soule and Stowers. But somewhere there is a woman who finished 26th instead of 25th and that will matter to her, and even though I don’t know her name, it matters to me as well.

NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2021 12:09

I think people need to avoid the “when it starts happening in large numbers” idea. This has already affected hundreds of women and girls.

When two athletes were allowed to compete in Connecticut high school athletics, Selina Soule and every other girl whose place was lowered by one or two in every competition these athletes took part were disadvantaged. Same with CeCe Telfer.

Aussie rules has 18 players on each side. When Hannah Mouncey was allowed to play in the lower leagues, one of Mouncey’s teammates sat on the bench each game. Maybe another didn’t make the squad because their place on the bench was taken. All of Mouncey’s teammates were disadvantaged by having to share changing facilities. All of Mouncey’s opponents were disadvantaged by having to tackle Mouncey. Then multiply that by how many teams are in that league. Then add the umpires who were placed in a compromising legal position should any serious injury had happened to a woman. This is hundreds of women.

When Mouncey switched to handball, a woman didn’t get selected to represent Australia at the world championships because Mouncey was in the squad. A woman who made the squad didn’t get to start in the final. All of these women were disadvantaged by having to share facilities with Mouncey, something they complained about.

When McKinnon won at the Masters cycling championships, every woman below had their place moved down by one.

When Laurel Hubbard won weightlifting gold in Samoa, Feagaiga Stowers, an 18 year old indigenous Samoan woman, a survivor of abuse, was denied gold at her home games. Every other woman who finished below Hubbard had their place lowered by one.

And so on, and so on. Hundreds of women and girls affected negatively already by just five examples of transgender athletes. It doesn’t need to get any bigger, it’s already too big.

Lordamighty · 24/01/2021 12:08

Ah I see the monitors have been reporting on this thread, we can’t have women speaking the truth & providing photographic evidence.

QueenoftheAir · 24/01/2021 11:33

The Guardian have airbrushed that photo

Oh, but @Lordamighty eny fule kno that if you have long hair, you're a gurl. And chiz to anyone who sez different.

QueenoftheAir · 24/01/2021 11:30

I was struck by the utter selfishness and narcissism of this statement:

But the two transgender runners at the center of that case said in court filings that being able to run against girls was central to their wellbeing

As a general rule, we all know from our own childhood and adolescence that for young boys, beating girls is important to shore up their increasing socialisation into masculinity.

I was at secondary school in the early to mid 1970s - 45 years ago - but I can still remember the two male students who would ask me after every essay or other assessed work was give back "What did you get, Air?" (Always addressed me by my last name ...) These were the 2 boys who saw it as their right to coming top of the class, and I was their competition, although I was never that bothered.

Now, it's legal to beat girls by any means.

SusannaSpider · 24/01/2021 11:25

However, many of the girls themselves just see it as normal. It's really depressing.

It will have to get to a stage where girls competing know they have no chance of winning, before they will wake up. How many US girls will have missed out on scholarships by that stage? It's all just incomprehensible.

[quote ItsAllGoingToBeFine]I would like to know the source of that picture before accepting it as the original image

If you click on those pictures and choose "More like this" Pinterest shows you lots of mens races Grin

EdgeOfACoin · 24/01/2021 10:50

CranberriesChoccyAgain, Kellie-Jay /Posie Parker did an interview a while ago with someone from the US-based Save Women's Sport organisation.

Sadly, it seems that the TWAW propaganda has been so effective that many of the other girls accept it. They think that the mtf transitioners have a right to compete with them and that it is fair if they win.

Some girls push back, of course, like the ones in Connecticut. However, many of the girls themselves just see it as normal. It's really depressing.

Clymene · 24/01/2021 10:49

@CranberriesChoccyAgain

I'd be interested to know how currently-competing female athletes feel about having male-bodied athletes compete against them or join their teams.

A lot of them would be afraid to speak up for fear of cancellation, harrassment, but is silence being mistaken for consent/agreement?

Selina Soule lost out on a place and publicly complained. She was absolutely vilified to the extent that she was worried she wouldn't get offered a place at college but she did

The photos I posted are from a very pro Miller interview and article so no, I don't think the right wing media is doctoring photos.

Notice that Yearwood always wears loose fitting shorts.

RadandMad · 24/01/2021 10:27

@InsideNumberNine I guess, being women, they thought through the consequences of their decision to transition and didn't expect the whole damn world to change to accommodate them in their new identity.

PlantMam · 24/01/2021 10:26

This is a proper ‘jumper the shark’ moment for the Guardian.

EdgeOfACoin · 24/01/2021 10:26

Thanks everyone for the clarification re airbrushing.

I'd seen pictures of Miller where it was clear Miller had male anatomy and pictures where it was not. I was troubled by the fact that only very right-wing US media outlets seemed to have pictures showing the outline of the anatomy, and I had concerns that there had been some doctoring in an attempt to make the point that Miller is not biologically female.

However, it seems that the pictures that show every contour of the athlete's body are the originals after all. Clearly, other outlets have felt the need to hide this from their audience.

Now, why would they feel the need to do that, I wonder...
