No, really.

Done. I don't have great expectations they will act on my feedback. However they asked for my views, and now they have them.

3beesinmybonnet · 15/01/2021 14:33

It's one of my new year resolutions to stop thinking I won't state my views because other people would put it so much better. Im a woman and Im angry about how were being ignored therefore Im qualified. So Ive just aired my views aka ranted in the bbc survey.
I finished by telling them I recently adopted a lurcher who was terrified of men. He's losing the fear but he still knows the difference between men and women. Which means my dog has more common sense than the bbc, the Guardian and the Labour Party put together.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/01/2021 11:47

It is my opinion that having faith in the BBC IT team's competence is probably a mistake. There are so many ways for them to get it wrong, and they seem to work through them in rotation.

TottiePlantagenet · 04/01/2021 23:25

Ahh despite not having signed in, nor given my email address at any point for the survey, the BBC have managed to send me a confirmation email Confused And when I click on their website, they ask me to sign in! I'm thoroughly confused, please ignore my original claim! Blush

TottiePlantagenet · 04/01/2021 21:48
If you used the link in the OP it may be discarded for spamming the survey, and it includes the link from the Facebook page that originally shared the post.

When you copy a link from Facebook you need to remove everything after the question mark, so the link is;

www.bbc.co.uk/send/u61149175
Followed Thelnebriati's link (thank you) and submitted my answers without needing to give them an email address.

500 words is a bit limiting for what I waved to say...

Highwind · 04/01/2021 21:32

Just literally received an email and gladly filled in their survey. They won’t like what I put but why would I voluntarily fund a service that is doing its damnest to promote an agenda who wishes nothing more to take away my rights for privacy, dignity, safety, words defining my biology and probably my very existence to?

Also may have said that they have historically protected men who prey on children and are now helping to push an ideology that attempts to keep people in a pre-pubescent state.... hmmmmmmm?

Fuck them.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 04/01/2021 18:37

That’s weird. Maybe they’ve had enough comments!

stumbledin · 04/01/2021 18:31

I've tried over 3 days to get access to the survey but just end up in a loop.

It recognises me and shows me my email address when I go to the web page and says if this is you continue. Click on continue. Says I have to verify address. Click on this link. Email eventually arrives. Click on link there and goes to web page saying sorry something went wrong, click to resend email.

After 3 days have totally lost interest - and they dont even have a place to report tech problems with web site which they used to do.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 04/01/2021 18:20

Dammit I saw a tweet in Spiked of a report that said about 1/2 of people thought the BBC ‘was for them’. I forgot to copy the link.

Half’s a bit generous these days.

MrsMap · 04/01/2021 18:13

Well, my spleen is now empty 😁

OhHolyJesus · 04/01/2021 17:57

Same here Apollo as PP said it was cathartic. The link Inebriati sent worked for me. Sorry for the cock up in the OP.

I’ve been trying to fill this in for a week or so.. it keeps telling me it has emailed but it hasn’t.

Apollo440 · 04/01/2021 17:45

Well for what it's worth I told them exactly why I am using the BBC less and less.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/01/2021 17:26

I managed to sign in after twenty-four hours or so.

I now have an email from them telling me that

"We’ll keep it until 31/01/2023 – and if we don’t use it we’ll then delete it and any other information you sent us."

This suggests to me that they may plan not to use anything they don't like.

Cabinfever10 · 04/01/2021 14:59

Did it they won't like my answers.
@Chrestomanci3 do you have a share token for that article?

highame · 03/01/2021 11:42

Just done mine. Nice cathartic exercise for 2021.

My expectation is that all the presenters will be very diverse, but what they present will not change

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 02/01/2021 19:33

Well that was fun. I should have mentioned the gender bias issue I raised as a complaint just over a year ago which they haven’t replied to yet...

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/01/2021 17:46

For what it's worth, I have a BBC account in one particular name linked to one particular email account. It has one particular password.

They clearly keep them all, unencrypted, available in the same place, since I have had spam to that address, with that password as its header, and with that name in the text.

Luckily the spam was that old one about "oh you naughty boy, I have taken control of your machine and watched while you jerked off to those terrible movies you access, send me bitcoin or I'll send the tape to your whole address-book", which would have scared me more if 1) my machine had a camera or 2) I had an address-book in it. As it was I sat behind the a thorough fire-wall, Linux and no way the spam was in any way accurate, and laughed a little.

What was slightly concerning was that there seemed to be no way I could report this security-breach in their website arrangements to anyone at the BBC. It just ended up going round and round in circles through their "complaints" procedure, which does not did not allow any communication over a certain number of characters which was inadequate, or concerning anything outwith a few set complaints which they gave as a sort of multiple choice.

(The password etc works perfectly well for listening to something from R4 today; it just isn't allowing me access to the questionnaire.)

gardenbird48 · 02/01/2021 16:02

they won't be overly happy with my response - I told them exactly what I think of their deliberate lies and anti-woman/safeguarding bias.

Chrestomanci3 · 02/01/2021 15:27

I don't know if it's linked to this article in The Times today about attitudes to the BBC. www.thetimes.co.uk/article/half-of-britons-feel-the-bbc-does-not-share-their-values-gm0z9cfxf

Thelnebriati · 02/01/2021 15:22

bellinisurge · 02/01/2021 15:21

That felt good.

WhatTiggersDoBest · 02/01/2021 15:15

I don't want a BBC account. I guess in that case they don't want my thoughts. I hate things that say they're anonymous but collect superfluous data, I won't play that game.
takes tinfoil hat off again

Abitofalark · 02/01/2021 15:04

I did wonder what it is about.

"Survey about the BBC

We are really interested in understanding your views on the BBC and some of the other services you use. Here is a short survey that should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete and your answers will be completely confidential.

We will be looking at the results of the survey, alongside looking at how you and others use the BBC’s services when you are signed in to your account. For example, we might look at whether people who use the BBC a lot have a different view to those who don’t use it very often. This is to help us better understand how people feel about the BBC. The survey results and how you use the BBC will remain totally anonymous. "

Now I'm starting to wonder if it is a ploy to get more people to sign up or to sign in. It's a muddled form of reasoning to say that they might use it to assess views of people who don't use the BBC very often, when that category must include people who don't have accounts. Does the BBC think or hope they are going to sign up just to complete a survey?

UppityPuppity · 02/01/2021 14:45

It won’t like it!

Will do.
