Aka pygmy men do not breastfeed babies. That is impossible because of the human biology of milk production. Aka pygmy men use their own nipples as dummies for babies or to keep the baby quiet until the mother arrives to breastfeed. A bit like when a western man might let a baby suck on his little finger to keep it quiet.

Why does anyone want to breastfeed their child?

If you don’t believe there are reasons for a male breastfeeding a child that don’t include the needs of that child, you are quite naive. There are written account of how ‘electrifying’ and sensual it is for a male to have a baby suckle. They write these words themselves.

One wrote ‘I got off, don’t judge!’.

‘Chest’ does not refer to the correct part of the anatomy for breast feeding. Incidentally, men also get breast cancer.

I write with reference to your British Branch policy of encouraging natal males to mimic breastfeeding using untried, drug-stimulated male chest liquids squirted directly into apparently living babies' mouths.

I didn't think I could admire her more than I already did, but this has inspired me. Enough of the fawning euphemisms, the walking on eggshells, the handmaidly submissiveness. This is a woman whose speech cannot be coerced.

I think pinkyu is referring to the Aka Pygmy people. So a single tribal group of around 20,000 people in central Africa, they have atypical gender roles and males 'sometimes' breastfeed babies if mum isn't available.

pinkyu please tell us exactly what drugs are usually taken by transwomen, in addition to the drugs taken to induce lactation (as others have pointed out these start months before and continue throughout).

The note by the way of the dr conducting the trial was a transwoman dr who said they themselves decided not to do this experiment themselves when they had the opportunity. They noted the risk of the combination of drugs was unknown in short and long term.

There is a debunked study stating males would breastfeed in other cultures but other experts reviewing the study pointed out they were soothing their babies not feeding and the researcher misinterpreted the action.

Regardless of the medical/drug issues and personal reasons for a male wanting to have a baby suckle...La Leche have to work within their charitable status. Which is about supporting mothers.

No male, whether they have transitioned to female or not is legally a mother. It’s not possible in the same way as a transman who gives birth can’t refuse to be the baby’s legal mother.

La Leche absolutely can and should support transmen who have given birth to breastfeed.

Hadn't male chest feeding and lactation using these drugs only been studied once?

How is that even remotely acceptable as a choice involving infants who cannot consent to being experimented on all for the sake of validation?
