mole I would really like to believe that all our submissions eg to the various enquiries were considered...the fact that some don’t even get published makes me wonder if the buck is just being passed, without much bang at all. However we still need to do them, you are right.

wordsinourmouths · 30/01/2021 18:55

Oh I didn’t realise the above was inflammatory. But these matters are clearly worth talking about for women in AIBU too and there does seem to be an awful lot of inflammatory there to be sure. Should mn publish a list of expressions and words which we can’t use, rather than waiting till we wrong think /speak? I kind of thought more or less anything was acceptable in AIBU. Perhaps someone could reframe the wording and repost that thread.

ChattyLion · 30/01/2021 08:29

Totally bloody agree with you there

midgedude · 30/01/2021 08:27

Inflammatory title
Use transwomen not men who believe

Mn have left the AIBU threads quite loose and will be getting flack

Winesalot · 30/01/2021 08:26

Whoa Chatty!!

Obviously we cannot have too many escapees. Otherwise it might seem like, you know, not only regulars on this part of the forum are concerned. I mean, that would destroy the argument that we are the only people on MN, the country, the planet who cares about such a niche, major, all encompassing, issue.

It would totally show that argument like so many are pure bollocks!

ChattyLion · 30/01/2021 08:20

So I’ll have a Bloody Mary please since it’s 8am.

ChattyLion · 30/01/2021 08:19

Just posted on this thread seconds ago and looking back it’s now been zapped www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4150901-To-think-that-third-spaces-might-be-a-compromise-for-men-who-believe-they-are-women

We need to be able to talk about this stuff!!!

midgedude · 30/01/2021 08:15

Wakes clutching head....thanks all

Although I am finding it interesting that these are in AIBU and a year ago would have gone " go back to the feminist board none of us care "

FFS I'm joining you and I hope I pass out before I give in to that Part 3 AIBU.

I am still a lurker at heart and read through threads from start to finish.

I also see a huge value in bringing matters to wider attention.

But I am asking myself: at this particular time, with so many consultations near deadline, am I allowing myself to be distracted from doing something that would have more bang for the buck?

(As I wrote that I wondered if it had some sleazy connotation to be avoided but I checked and it doesn't. Thank heavens because I always thought it was to do with fireworks. It's not, but it's not dodgy either.)

Sxheavy moderation going on already...is it a Friday thing?

DeaconBoo · 29/01/2021 14:36

I've noticed that typo "a women" crop up again recently. I'm leaning towards coincidence but still... it does seem to happen with certain types of poster?

Datun · 29/01/2021 14:08

@Wrongsideofhistorymyarse

Mumofgirls none of this is logical.
No, but it is tedious and frustrating how they can deny sex when it comes to women's rights, and then uphold it when it comes to men's.

Mumofgirlswholiketoplaywithmud · 29/01/2021 14:04

The best response was the person who said "if every women in the world identified as a man, would you still find a way to exploit their wombs?"

@Wrongsideofhistorymyarse

The antenatal group stating that men get pregnant too.
I'm getting confused about the rules of this new doctrine. Ben Cohen just targeted the LGB alliance on twitter for not being pro commercial surrogacy, which he implied was against male couples... Because (he implies) men can't get pregnant?!

My head is going to explode trying the mental gymnastics

CoffeeTeaChocolate · 29/01/2021 13:52

I think most people haven’t thought through the issues. They just think that trans women are hugely dysphoric people who had an operation and no longer have male genitalia. They want to be kind and this seems like a no brainier. Add to that all the misrepresented statistics about the risk of trans women involved in sex work in Brazil which is argued to be the risk of trans women in the UK.

The more sunlight this gets, the more they open their eyes to what really is going on. That is why these discussions are so important. As is the correct language.

nauticant · 29/01/2021 13:52

In other clothing-related thread news, is anyone else enjoying the DD present of a T-shirt thread in AIBU? I've had a nice long read and the anti-GC posts are really striking: if someone's views aren't pro-gender identity ideology, you can judge that person as harshly as you want without knowing what they think, while someone who says they are pro, needs to be supported 100% whatever they think.

As ever, the point of an ideology is to give someone a fully-formed set of unquestionable views that means they never have to think for themselves.

ArabellaScott · 29/01/2021 13:48

Yes, I do think there is a groundswell of popular opinion that understands the issues very well, now, and is very much NOT on board with most of the genderagenda. Unfortunately politicians don't seem to be quite as well informed as the average person ....

Winesalot · 29/01/2021 13:44

You are not wrong wrong! And every time I see posters in the escapee threads, they are up to date on the current situation.

I find it amusing that those calling women hateful cannot see that the tide is well and truly turning away from 'women be kind'. They cannot see that it isn't working anymore. Women are getting 'educated' and making their decisions and it is not quite as expected, I think.

It makes me feel a bit more positive.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 29/01/2021 12:54

The escaping threads make me happy. There are lots of posters who never come to this section posting in support of GC.

littlbrowndog · 29/01/2021 12:50

Escappee threads. Loving it

It’s like we have built wee tunnels through

Winesalot · 29/01/2021 12:22
