Imagine having this world view. The internalised misogyny must be painful

Honestly, unbelievable...

Kaliorphic · 28/11/2020 09:24

Friendly reminder about how Pornhub ignored a 14-year-old's begging to have a video of her rape (including a visible stab wound) removed from their site.

Yes this. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Kaliorphic · 28/11/2020 09:16

Maybe it's a bit of both. Wilful blindness alongside a high level of stupidity. Isn't she the one who tried to take a transwomen to court for being transpohobic. That went well for her.

BettyDuKeiraBellisMyShero · 28/11/2020 09:10

@Kaliorphic

Jesus, what the fuck is wrong with that woman. I wonder if she's so blinded by all things trans that she can't see past that, or whether she's just really really thick.
She attended the MCR detransitioners event with Stuart Lorimer and skulked out while the rest of the audience was giving the reidentified young women a standing ovation.

So I’m going to suggest ‘wilful blindness’ rather than stupidity.

Dawnlassie · 28/11/2020 09:03

whats the big deal?

Yikes, that is pretty specialist, even for Helen!

Hi Helen by the way, I know you are reading this 👋 - you probably want to think on that tweet a little and think about what you are actually saying and how it comes across. Good day Smile

highame · 28/11/2020 07:48

😂

NotBadConsidering · 28/11/2020 07:27

It'd be interesting to know how many of her '14 thousand' followers nod along with comments like this and how many cringe with embarrassment for her. are real.

Fixed it for you.

moptophairshop · 28/11/2020 06:54

It's a handy tweet to keep as a reference to show how twisted the logic of someone entrenched in the TRA ideology can become. In one fell swoop she not only alludes to a belief that women aren't applicable when it comes to human rights but also that anyone who seeks to protect women's rights are worse than a company that profits from trafficking, rape and child abuse.

I'd like to say it's a new low for MM but actually it's entirely in keeping with the sort of thing this intersectional feminist trans activist comes out with on a regular basis. It'd be interesting to know how many of her '14 thousand' followers nod along with comments like this and how many cringe with embarrassment for her.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/11/2020 21:57

There's a handful of TRAs who spend all their time obsessing about Mumsnet. It spices up their lives and doesn't seem to do us any harm.

SophocIestheFox · 27/11/2020 21:06

That’s an insight into the absolute mother* lode of cognitive dissonance, isn’t it?

*uterus user?

Deliriumoftheendless · 27/11/2020 20:33

That’s the difference.

You have a moral line.

Most of us do.

But some, no. But you know, I’m sure she tweets #bekind so that’s all that matters in social media land.

PotholeParadies · 27/11/2020 20:13

I mean, I have a moral line.

Even if mumsnet removed FWR and pornhub started posting radfem essays as well as making money from letting rapists upload torture videos, the rapes would be more significant than the essays! I would still think pornhub was worse than mumsnet!

HecatesCats · 27/11/2020 20:11

Nope, couldn't care less about women. Would never have posted that if she did.

PotholeParadies · 27/11/2020 20:07

I... just... can't get how anyone could think like that.

There has been so much criticism of notable GC activists for any kind of association with right wing figures? Surely outright excusing of a site thst monetised footage of a child being raped and beaten is in at least the same ball park as that? If not worse?

Deliriumoftheendless · 27/11/2020 19:36

She don’t care Potholes, other women’s suffering is irrelevant to her.

Anything to have a pop at a site that doesn’t agree with her beliefs.

That’s how some folk are.

Not on Santa’s nice list.

PotholeParadies · 27/11/2020 19:33

What? What?

Mimmymum, I know you're reading. This tweet has made me feel sick.

Pornhub is known to have continued to host and make money from hosting videos of young women (and men, I'm sure) being raped. Even after the victims contacted them to ask for the videos to be removed!

Rape victims have been doxxed and subjected to further harassment from men who had viewed their abuse via pornhub.

Pornhub hosts videos from under 18s. Sexual imagery involving under-eighteens is illegal. The minimum age to participate in pornography is eighteen.

These are all appalling human rights violations.

As we like to say on MN, get a grip. Get a sense of perspective.

Clymene · 27/11/2020 19:18

I have concluded that Helen is not a very well woman. Anyone who actively lobbies for destruction of their own rights has skewed priorities.

Then again, I think she hates MN so much that she'd support Genghis Khan if he were anti MN.

MindTheMinotaur · 27/11/2020 18:29

Choking, slapping, revenge porn and rape all better than women insisting on their sex based rights which are protected in law.

Mimmymum, didn't expect any better of you frankly. Yes, you put a transwoman through hell, leaving him* really stressed through your court action. You wanted to be anonymous while you destroyed his life and what was it the judge said 'no case to answer'?

  • Miranda Yardley uses his sex based pronouns.
ErrolTheDragon · 27/11/2020 14:13

Ah, yet more topsy-turvy words from the woman who spectacularly failed to have a transwoman convicted of transphobia. (Never harms to remind any new readers of her crowning 'achievement')

DickKerrLadies · 27/11/2020 13:52

I was starting to doubt whether Helen really understands our position here but then I remembered the amount of time she spends here so it must be deliberate misrepresentation. Although I think Helen is a PBP (IIRC) so I suppose she can't ask for clarification if she doesn't understand something.

itsor · 27/11/2020 13:44

theviolenceofpornography.blogspot.com/

This blog (if you can stomach it) is also a good resource for showing how porn is totally great and absolutely doesn't actively harm women and girls and go against their human rights Hmm

Surely you mean uterus havers?

Of course.
