I'm imagining the writer sitting there thinking 'what's the most undignified, uncomfortable, grossest medical procedure I can think of for Aunt Karen. Ah yes, colonoscopy! And it's related to shit as well, which hammers the point home about TERFs even more. I'm a fucking literary genius.'

The problem I have with this - and I suppose I will be banned for saying so - is not that I think the moderate line "Throwing turkey in anyone's face is wrong" - but that I think the radical line "Anyone who tells lies and denies the truth deserves the turkey in their face."

The TRAs also follow the radical line. The problem is, objectively, they are on the side of lies and me (and those who think like me) are on the side of truth.

Hence, at Thanksgiving or Christmas:
TRA (IN THE WRONG): Men can magically become women.
Me (IN THE RIGHT): No they can't.
ME (SMASHES TURKEY INTO TRA FACE), because it is meet and right and just, that right does harm unto wrong and truth does harm unto lies.

I have never read an article about dealing with difficult situations, family dinners with toxic relatives etc, that states that you should throw food at the others. This is surreal.

I read the thread title, on a rare click into FWR, and my first thought was "Is it with violence?" and lo, so it was.

Imagine my surprise.

I worked with someone like this - every day some new flipping drama and our idiot boss treated and indulged her like the golden child.
