Mridul Wadhwa and Rape Crisis Scotland.

The issue is why organisation like Women's Aid Scotland and Rape Crisis Scotland have compromised the basic aims on which they were founded ie providing services to women who experience male violence because of their sex. Alone individual cant reach a position of influence unless those around them allow them to reach that position.

I know there was a recent statement in UK Government clarifying (again) the right of single sex provision under the EA. Maybe it is time that SMPs were challenged.

Unfortunately as with some parts of Government, Education, Health and ... trans activism has sucessfully inserted itself into Women's Sector Groups.

I despair. I look at politics in Scotland and wonder where our big hitters are, the intellectuals, the people with broad life experience, the people with passion - and what I get is Mridul..

I'm not sure if MW did mean those people specifically but, yes, one could conclude that it would include them too, in which case MW is not working for the best interests of those people

When I first heard about this individual I wondered if they were so amazing and compassionate and ‘unmale’ and brought something so amazing to the table that somehow the staff and women genuinely felt that it could work (obviously I have learnt more from other mn posters that it doesn’t work like that and there is absolutely no way it is acceptable), but it seems that my optimism was totally misplaced and they are displaying some extremely nasty and aggressive behaviour.

They haven’t tried to convince anyone of their suitability- ‘I know I shouldn’t have taken the job but I work super hard for the women here and keep right out of the way so I don’t trigger ptsd’ etc etc.

Just plain old murderous aggression towards anyone who doesn’t toe the line - god knows what’s it’s like for those poor women needing help.

As noted on the Twitter thread, given recent events in France, choosing the image of a figure beheading their 'evil' enemies is really in incredbily poor taste to say the least. For an erstwhile politician, it's ... well.

This person has also been elected as women's officer for SNP Craiglockhart consituency - there was a thread about it here a few days ago.

I actually came across a post on Facebook for a trauma group for women who had been a victim of sexual violence. I enquired further as a good friend of mine was regularly sexually assaulted by an ex partner and I thought it may be a good opportunity for her. There were two group options - one for mixed gender and one for 'womxn'. I enquired asking if the 'womxn' group was just for females and they kept brushing over that part, stating it would only have women in it. I pushed further as I know my friend wouldn't be able to open up if there were males there and only after pushing did they concede that there would be women, so anyone who identified as female, in attendance.

They also pointed me toward Rape Crisis Scotlands recommendation that such services for women should be inclusive of anyone who wishes to identify as a woman. It's unbelievable. So now we have a woman, a female, who is losing out on counselling sessions because they can't assure us that there won't be males there (and are actively encouraging males to attend female sessions whereby they will be opening up about sexual assaults). Unbelievable.

It would be nice if 'kindness wins' for all female people too as opposed to just the female people doing what male born people have told them is needed by the male people.

You have to admire it. There's a veneer here under which male born people can be this openly, joyfully prejudiced against female born people and it's not only ok, it's highly fashionable and praiseworthy.

And do it openly while in a public role, speaking for and on behalf of the same class they're showing this degree of prejudice against and there's still a bunch of people buying into the marketing and cheering them for their wonderful progressiveness.

It's like the guy in the rubber pants for the NSPCC, it's just beyond comprehension.

good grief - the Goddess this person is invoking is the one that beheads people and tramples on their enemies - that is disturbing. I feel for those poor women who can't get away from this individual - I wonder if the rape victims using the shelter who are not comfortable in their presence are also included in this person's threats of aggression?

I pm'd the MNetter at the time to offer practical support as I was so upset to read about their situation, and the worst part for them of being not just dismissed in such a superior and derisive way, but hearing the airy denial that they'd ever said anything or the meeting in which they'd bared their hearts and tried so hard ever happened at all. The absolute erasure and outrageous deceit in it.

I won't name the MNetter as it's for her to speak here if she would like to, these are sensitive and very distressing matters for the women living them. But if she or anyone else who attended those meetings would like any practical support at any time I will be very glad to help in any way I can.

This is the problem with an ideology founded in the idea that the preferred selective reality of one person is valid above objective fact, and must be valued and protected by others whether they agree or not. It separates people into those entitled to state reality and those who are compelled to obey others in what they can say, feel and believe, and into categories of those whose needs and feelings matter, and those whose feelings and needs are subordinate to others and conditional on their agreement and permission. This is wrong. This is morally indefensible.

It then becomes wholly sex based in actual fact - although this is a fact not supposed to be mentioned. So in actual fact, female people's needs in a female refuge must be subordinate to the preference of male born staff to be able to identify as and be validated in a woman's role. And those male born people are able to hold positions of power that not only prevent those female people from speaking, but to create the selected reality that their needs and feelings aren't valid and don't exist anyway.

And this is why we have another MNetter who has lived rough for 18 months in a state of increasing desperation. And these male born people would say she deserves it for being unwilling to accept that a male born person matters more than she does.

It's sexism, working very well for the male born sex. This is it. This is all.

Wonder if they are following this thread and enjoying the notoriety?
