studentnewspaper.org/article/an-insight-with-mridul-wadhwa-into-working-in-a-rape-crisis-centre

When working face to face with rape victims it's important to keep it fun???

Sexnotgender · 03/11/2020 15:28

No GRC and they definitely can’t get one as they are Indian.

Whole thing is a steaming pile of bollocks.

FindTheTruth · 03/11/2020 15:24

Lying and misleading would normally be cause for dismissal, but in the SNP it qualifies you for position of authority?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 14:55

I'd wiped that Student piece form my mond. The one where Mridul says

“It is a very disempowering experience when you report [rape] to the police because it is a big shift in the understanding of being a victim. They [women] are actually powerless in it. There are some areas where they might be able to influence but it’s very, very minute.” With no apparent irony

That Mridul? The one that is sure that none of the women in the rape crisis centre care that Mridul has male accoutrements? The one that gushes about female solidarity and is just deaf to the room, whichever room, every room?

Pshaw!

asking on twitter if its confirmed. I'm blocked by them on twitter so can't be sure at mo. BTW looks like they have spouted some nonsense about Polish Women as there is a flurry of robust comments on my timeline.

If I am not mistaken, Mridal was the one who deliberately witheld the fact that they are a transwoman to get the job at a rape crisis centre, knowing full well that the post was stipulating that it was for female candidates only?
The fact that this person is potentially a women's officer shows how nasty and disingenuous the SNP are.

RosieHen · 03/11/2020 12:45

Do we know whether this has been confirmed yet? Conserving my anger until I know for sure...

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 03/11/2020 00:41

I honestly feel tearful FFS & bloody HY is trying to make sure we can’t even whisper about truths in private.

No man should be allowed to trick his way into a rape crisis centre for any reason. And as for representation Angry

I was about to say me too @Butterer but I'm running out of energy for anger. Just when I think it can't get worse it does. Now I'm raging on fucking Amnesty International which can't bring itself to mention its WOMEN who are having their rights removed in Poland.

This person is legally male? As in, no GRC?

I don't think a transwoman can be a womens officer. I really do wonder what kind of drugs central SNP are on... I cannot CANNOT get my head around the way they are behaving.

SpongeWorthy · 02/11/2020 23:52

Not sure if it's confirmed yet. If it is... I don't even know what to say.

This line from a recent Pink News article is so unbelievably disingenuous and manipulative. This quote is from the staff on the site, not from anyone else, just to be clear:

"Her inclusion on the all-women shortlist has offended SNP members who are opposed to trans rights."

I'm not opposed to trans rights as a simplistic concept. I'm opposed to legislation and bullying that compromises the safety and rights of girls and women.
