Of those listed only the Celts are indiginous

Johnny come latelies who only turned up after the last ice age due to lax entry regulations.

ArabellaScott · 01/11/2020 14:26

I think if we are generous with the labels I could potentially hit 5 on the oppressed identity bingo card - are these qualities essential or just desirable?

Anyway, if you are an investigating witchpricker, I do so look forward to your vewy even handed and measured report in due course.

Igneococcus · 01/11/2020 14:26

"Finally some justice for those bloody Saxons coming over here, taking our jobs and stealing our women with their flashy steel tools and sexy German accents."

I have a sexy German accent but don't call me a Saxon, I'm a Frank.

Beamur · 01/11/2020 14:23

If this is just a cut and paste from US equivalents they're going to find the concept of indigenous a bit tricky to apply here.
Don't they know that's a shade alt-right in concept here?

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 01/11/2020 14:23

Cool, let them waste their time and resources hiring someone who self identifies as an expert to produce a report that self identifies as unbiased for the benefit of men who self identify as women. They can send it to our government who, if they're self identifying as competent on that particular day, can file it right away in their very special and important cabinet. I mean, it's actually a shredder, but it self identifies as a very special and important cabinet. Morons.

donquixotedelamancha · 01/11/2020 14:19

So they're interviewing the Celts, the Normans, Saxons. Pretty sure the vikings and possibly Romans could be included as well.

Of those listed only the Celts are indiginous, the rest are illegal imigrants.

I'm presuming they will be prioritising applications from very isolated (and ideally inbred) villages in North Wales, the Scottish highlands and Cornwall, which still practice traditional druidic human sacrifice.

Finally some justice for those bloody Saxons coming over here, taking our jobs and stealing our women with their flashy steel tools and sexy German accents.

And don't get me started on the Romans- what did they ever do for us?

@PostItJoyWeek

Random oppression hierarchy on show.
Lazily copied and pasted from an American context, clearly.
fatblackcatspaw · 01/11/2020 14:16

btw this is showing up in 'trending now' are we off the naughty step?

PostItJoyWeek · 01/11/2020 14:14

We're about to be investigated
DeaconBoo · 01/11/2020 14:12

@PostItJoyWeek

What if I identify as indigenous?

I moved here as a young adult. I often feel quite English. I am probably better at Englishing than the English come to think of it. I look great in tweed. I have a UK passport. You think I qualify?

Well, as we all know, the hardest thing about being English is deciding what to wear.
DeaconBoo · 01/11/2020 14:11

What do we think they mean when they use the word "radical"?

I nearly posted the same thing.
I'm sure this will be the only word they haven't gotten around to defining in their research.

BettyDuKeiraBellisMyShero · 01/11/2020 14:10

When they find out all the orgs are crowd funded by ordinary U.K. women (and a few men) will they actually publish that or just make shit up to keep their grift going?

fatblackcatspaw · 01/11/2020 14:07

too right @BaronessWrongCrowd... I have my eye on you

OrtamLeevz · 01/11/2020 14:06

FFS. I'm sick of this shit.

SnuggyBuggy · 01/11/2020 14:05

Are these the folk that lurk and police here?

BaronessWrongCrowd · 01/11/2020 14:04

I apologise @fatblackcatspaw It was an oversight and I have learnt my lesson. I have said things that have hurt the Pict people. I will take time to educate myself on Pict matters and donate 20p to a pict charity Grin

Cocothefirst · 01/11/2020 14:03

Gosh.

Gooseybby · 01/11/2020 14:01

'Radical anti gender'? I don't understand, does this mean it's now a GOOD thing to be pro-gender, and we've decided once and for all on gender categories and what goes in each? Where does this leave gender neutral? Did we decide on just two genders, so 'non binary' still exists?

I'm very out of date on this it seems.

Needmoresleep · 01/11/2020 14:01

All these Vikings.

It took a potato famine to push my ancestors out of west of Ireland subsistence living. Though there were always rumours of some shipwrecked Spanish Armada DNA somewhere in the mix.

Would I count?

fatblackcatspaw · 01/11/2020 14:00

@BaronessWrongCrowd

So they're interviewing the Celts, the Normans, Saxons. Pretty sure the vikings and possibly Romans could be included as well. I mean I'm not sure how far back they want to go as I'm positive that there were tribes predating the Celts. However, I'm pretty sure they all knew what a woman was Halloween Grin
you forgot the PICTS! you Pictphobe!
fakenina · 01/11/2020 14:00

You are.

They've heard all about you Smudge, and they dont like it one little bit.

Watch out is all I can say.

FannyCann · 01/11/2020 13:57

Anyone know Scrooge's ancestry? On my mother's side we go back to a famous miser who was the model for Scrooge. Apparently he would eat maggoty meat rather than waste it.

  • muses how much money I could have saved...
SmudgeButt · 01/11/2020 13:53

Confused.

The title of the post is "we're about to be investigated".

We who? Mumsnet? You and me?

Vermeil · 01/11/2020 13:53

I’m 75% indigenous but 25% Greek.
Not sure where that puts me

fakenina · 01/11/2020 13:49

Im a mix between AngloSaxon, Celtic and Mexican, and know a lot about the feminist movement in UK.

They are basically asking for me personally!

how much does it pay?
