I hope Maya applies.

NiceGerbil · 01/11/2020 15:03

Homosexual people aren't mentioned as same sex attraction is somewhere on a scale between problematic and bigoted.

DocMarteens · 01/11/2020 15:03

Do British Muslim women not get to say why they need single sex spaces?

PostItJoyWeek · 01/11/2020 15:02

Yeah, they also want applications from Hispanic US citizens, which is what I believe Latinx means.

Bit odd for a UK research job.

PhilSwagielka · 01/11/2020 14:59

@PostItJoyWeek

Random oppression hierarchy on show.
Why doesn't it mention Asians? There are way more of them here.

This is why trying to apply American social justice models to the rest of the world doesn't work.

Thelnebriati · 01/11/2020 14:57

Analyzing the real and potential impact of radical anti-gender organizing on trans people’s human rights in the UK.

I'll make popcorn.

PostItJoyWeek · 01/11/2020 14:57

No mention of homosexuals in the list of welcome applicants.

NiceGerbil · 01/11/2020 14:54

They are doing a big investigation into why UK feminists object to things like male rapists in women's prisons?

And they are looking for someone, what. White? Not just a bit white but very very white?

I have a disability and practically glow in dark. When I get my legs out on holiday people have to shield themselves from the reflected sunlight. I could be in with a shout?

CaraDuneRedux · 01/11/2020 14:49

And don't get me started on the Romans- what did they ever do for us?

"Which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans..." Wink

Escapeplanning · 01/11/2020 14:48

Surely mimmymum's done enough Twitter threads she can send them, job done.

fullofhope100 · 01/11/2020 14:47

@MichelleofzeResistance

Drat. I'm Viking descended which counts me right out.

I hear there's quite a lot of Neolithic DNA in the population around Cheddar Gorge, if that's helpful?

You've cheered me right up @Michelleofzeresistance: Thank you Grin xxx

@PostItJoyWeek

Maybe lots of excellent journalists and researchers have a sideline in sex work? Perhaps Evan Davis goes on the cams at night for extra cash when Dragon's Den is off air?
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.
donquixotedelamancha · 01/11/2020 14:39

I have a sexy German accent but don't call me a Saxon, I'm a Frank.

Franks, Jutes, Angles, whatever. All you Saxons look the same to me. Go back to northern France, northern Germany and southern Denmark you short haired, trouser wearing sausage eaters.

Johnny come latelies who only turned up after the last ice age due to lax entry regulations.

It was empty when we found it with the front door wide open. I think the previous occupiers couldn't pay the mortgage. They left it in a right state- great big henges just lying about the place, wolves and forests everywhere.

We spent ages picking a decore scheme for Londinium, only for the Romans to swap the curtains to purple.

BettyDuKeiraBellisMyShero · 01/11/2020 14:38

@Beamur

If this is just a cut and paste from US equivalents they're going to find the concept of indigenous a bit tricky to apply here. Don't they know that's a shade alt-right in concept here?
Someone should point out that they are ‘dog whistling’ to the far right (the actual far right, not their imagined far right that is anyone right of Vince Cable).
HecatesCats · 01/11/2020 14:38

How very flattering. They know we're onto something.

FloralBunting · 01/11/2020 14:37

Delighted to stick my hand up as indigenous UK and anti-gender. I'll have it on a T-shirt, etsy tote bag and my tombstone, ta.

AsTreesWalking · 01/11/2020 14:37

98% of my genes from the British Isles, plus a tiny bit Viking - is that indigenous enough? Do I pass the purity test?

PostItJoyWeek · 01/11/2020 14:36

Why is deaf listed separately to disabled? Is it because the author wanted to show they know the D/deaf terminology for extra woke points?

merrymouse · 01/11/2020 14:33

For all the money that Mermaids, Stonewall et al have they have never been interested in finding out why feminists object to their behaviour.

I think Stonewall know why gender critical feminists object to their behaviour - it's not difficult to find out. It's just more convenient to pretend otherwise.

Aesopfable · 01/11/2020 14:33

If sex work is work then why are they targeting sex workers and trying to persuade them to leave their occupation rather than other jobs? What particular skills do they thing this work would bring to this task? Or are they encouraging moonlighting?

howonearthdidwegethere · 01/11/2020 14:30

Oh my goodness! They haven't learned anything, have they?

They really really need to bone up on the Streisand effect! They are going to generate a paper that brings together all the work being done by disparate GC women's groups, all of whom campaign openly (because, unlike them, we are rather fond of democracy). This will be so useful.

Having it all in one place, publicising it.

It's like PP paying for posters but then being refunded once Stonewall's fury chimps have demanded they are taken down. She is refunded and it generates oodles of column inches.

I'm going to send them lots of links to help them out.

PLEASE, GUYS! KEEP AT IT!

The list of BNP supporters might be a good place to start if you really want indigenous UK people. Look out for the ones who've cleverly changed their names to sound more patriotic, though, that's my advice, witchprickers.

debwong · 01/11/2020 14:28

I will take time to educate myself on Pict matters and donate 20p to a pict charity

Make sure you choose fairly, I don't want to hear that you cherry-Pict the wrong one

donquixotedelamancha · 01/11/2020 14:27

More seriously, I actually quite like that they got the anti-gender bit right. It seems a bit pathetic that they won't use Gender Critical, just because 'anti' sounds more negative, but it's better than thinking we are all evangelical Christians.

On the down side they sound more organised than the current UK lot. For all the money that Mermaids, Stonewall et al have they have never been interested in finding out why feminists object to their behaviour. They are good at lobbying and 'training' institutions but have been amaturish and slow to adjust their strategy in other respects.

I think this lot might be a bit smarter than just screaming 'no-debate' at everyone.
