There isn't a single post of yours that I've seen that gives the impression that you think women are humans that deserve any dignity or respect.

I'm sorry but I don't think the gender critical movement represents women, or even most women. It is a small subset of feminism which has become amplified by a much larger group of Conservatives. I think the gender critical movement is actually dangerous for women. You only have to look at Poland, where the misogynist ruling party rose to power after preaching of the dangers of gender ideology to see that.

Facefullofcake · 02/11/2020 19:30

I'm expecting that other poster to pop up and tell us that trans women are actually psychologically the same as women (because dresses, passivity and pamperedness?) and so should be treated identically to women any minute now (and refuse to give any evidence to back this up) Smile

334bu · 02/11/2020 19:29

Are they still breathing?

jj1968 · 02/11/2020 19:26

@334bu

Transwomen who are heterosexual males are just as dangerous to women as other males. Unless you have evidence which proves otherwise?
Even the ones without a penis or no sex drive or sexual function due to hormones?
MrsSteveMcDonald · 02/11/2020 19:26

Jj if you really want to be treated like a woman then get used to people thinking you don't have the right to say no and that nothing you say or do is important. Expecting women to do everything you want is a very male attitude.

There isn't a single post of yours that I've seen that gives the impression that you think women are humans that deserve any dignity or respect.

Transwomen are male, if they were female they wouldn't be trans. Having transwomen in female spaces make them mixed sex, it doesn't matter that it's not 50% it's still mixed sex. Safeguarding is putting in rules which affect everyone to make sure that you catch the minority that want to cause harm. Keeping all males out of female spaces regardless of identity is the most effective way of keeping women safe

Don't bother linking anything. jj won't take it in anyway it seems.

Obviously, this is just like the women's rugby issue. There is anecdotal evidence of injuries being caused but a) not reported and b) the facts are obfuscated by collection of data by gender. So, the result is, there is nothing by women telling their stories and that is completely ignored.

I’m just going to ignore him from now on. The gaslighting is actually abusive. Hopefully all the lurkers will see him for what he is.
Sexnotgender · 02/11/2020 19:23

The gaslighting on this thread is quite something. Men really, really don’t like women who don’t comply do they.

@334bu

Gay men aren't trying to get into female only spaces.
Not the point. Do you have any evidence gay men represent the same sexual threat to women as straight men? Where does the burden of proof lie? I would say it's a remarkable claim which requires evidence to back it up of which there is none.

And given many trans women, possibly as many as half, are in your eyes gay men, then that in itself should cause you to think perhaps offending patterns are different.

Facefullofcake · 02/11/2020 19:20

Trans inclusive policies in not mixed sex refuges/hostels/rape crisis/mental health women's services etc put me at risk. I am not able to use such a service alongside trans women service users or providers because of the (proven) detrimental impact on my mental health of being around males when I am extremely vulnerable
I don't care whether or not you like that tbh.

MichelleofzeResistance · 02/11/2020 19:18

that is regarded as quite bizarre, regressive and deeply prejudiced by most feminists overseas.

There's certainly some very hard work going on by males to try and paint female people wanting to keep their rights or even be allowed to talk about their rights as 'bizarre, regressive and deeply prejudiced'

(And yep, there's that word I've been dropping into posts boomeranging back.)

I think I'm done with this thread, I have all the information I could possibly need and more besides. Thanks jj, it's been a real education.

CorvusPurpureus · 02/11/2020 19:18

But you're muddled, I think.

The overwhelming take from this thread is that feminists would be very pleased to see more unisex facilities.

If that wouldn't meet whatever it is you're after, campaign for the toilet arrangement that you'd like

Just do we are clear that women's spaces are just for us.

334bu · 02/11/2020 19:18

Gay men aren't trying to get into female only spaces.

Sexnotgender · 02/11/2020 19:16

And I’ll claim whatever I like, just in the same way you do JJ, your male privilege is VERY obvious...

jj1968 · 02/11/2020 19:15

@334bu

Transwomen are members of the group which commit 98% of all sexual assaults so unless you have evidence to exclude them I believe the evidence already exists that as males they are a danger to women.
So are gay men. Do you think gay men represent the same sexual threat to women as straight men? Have you got any evidence to prove they don't?
Sexnotgender · 02/11/2020 19:15

Cool story bro😂

Adding transwomen to women’s facilities is absolutely making them mixed sex.

I do believe you’ve been asked several times now how to tell the difference between a man and a transwomen?

Floisme · 02/11/2020 19:14

Uppity UK women say no.
Deal with it.

jj1968 · 02/11/2020 19:13

[quote Sexnotgender]Mixed sex facilities a risk to women.

I asked for evidence that trans inclusive policies pose a risk not mixed sex policies. And they are not the same before you claim otherwise. Mixed sex environments are likely to be 50% men. Trans inclusive women's spaces are likely to be 0.3% trans women.

I’m pretty sure there exists evidence that transwomen offend at the same rate as that unmentionable group they belong to.

I’m tired and can’t be arsed to find it right now though.

Facefullofcake · 02/11/2020 19:12

"Luckily however there is published evidence into the risk of trans inclusion which has concluded that trans inclusive policies do not place women at risk."

Does anyone remember the trans woman heading a secure unit (iirc) who was in charge of collating data from detained women about whether they feel safe from sexual harm - perceived or actual - while there? I think I remember statements about how their gender identity couldn't impact the responses they would get...
Off topic, but it just sprang to mind.

ArabellaScott · 02/11/2020 19:12

@PearPickingPorky

jj can you please tell us how we tell the difference between a man and a transwoman please?

Because you accept that we are at risk from sharing loos with men. So I'd like to know how we tell them apart.

Good call. I'd like to know this.
jj1968 · 02/11/2020 19:11

@CorvusPurpureus

You've simply got this completely arse about tit, jj.

If you want men included in female spaces, you still have to argue that it won't negatively impact in women.

You have failed to do so. Equally, you've failed to prove that non gender conforming males need a) a special space & b) an entirely different group's space which you'd rather like to muscle into. Whether we like it or not.

Convince us that men's toilets are unsafe, & which you haven't given evidence for - we will support your campaign for separate toilets.

Why would trans people campaign for special toilets when all over the world trans people use toilets inline with their gender and that has public support and is backed by law and supported by pretty much every major feminist and women's institution including the UN? That would seem quite a strange thing for trans people to do just a pacify a very small movement limited to the UK that is regarded as quite bizarre, regressive and deeply prejudiced by most feminists overseas.
