This comment nails it:

I couldn’t disagree with Alice more. The reason this trans debate is so important is because it is a tipping point. The injustices served to women since the beginning of time are there for all to see: they are transparent, perpetual, deeply unfair. Slowly women have been working towards greater and fairer opportunities and, although it has been hard going, progress is being made. And then along comes the trans gender issue: men self identifying as women, men accessing private spaces fought for, and won, by previous generations of feminists who believed that women could finally and safely enjoy the opportunities and experiences granted to men. Suddenly women have to compete against men in sport, despite the incontrovertible evidence that this is unfair. Women have to shut up if they don’t want to share a changing room in a pool, where previously they were comfortably naked, with a “women” towelling her penis. They lose their jobs if they express scientifically proven views about males versus females. They get bullied, shouted down and threatened with rape and murder if they are brave enough to call it out.

All these rights for men identifying as women, have made it it the forefront of the agenda in the space of five short years, hi jacking debate, attempting to ride rough-shod over privileges finally granted to women, privileges that have taken decades to achieve. And then along comes a kind, sensible, thinking person like Alice who thinks this is a storm in a tea cup. Alice, this is misogyny, clear and simple and is another example of how men are allowed to prioritise their own needs over those of the woman they share society with. If a man identifying as a woman feels that he wants to have to true experience of what it is like to be female, he needs to understand that his hopes and dreams lie at the bottom of the pile and every privilege he desires needs to be fought for. Perhaps when these individuals can understand that, then they can begin to understand what it is like to be a real women. Bullying your way to to the top of the agenda, and shoving aside natal women and their issues in the process, is another indication of where women stand in their social hierarchy. That is what this is about and this is why it is important.

Massive eye roll. It's all there isn't it?:

Aligned with the far right (see Laurence Fox reference)
Doing Feminism wrong
‘Obsessed’
JKR ‘started’ a fight

She’s worried about transing children (as an aside, I'm sure that will sort itself out Alice)
But doesn’t care herself about single sex spaces (try empathising with other women, yawn)
The argument over sport only exists in academic circles, something, something chromosomes (so obviously won’t have a huge impact on generations of women to come)

The old chestnut of women not being capable of being concerned about more than one thing at a time (see doing Feminism wrong)

Alice, if we can’t name ourselves we can’t defend our rights in any of this. Who would we be talking about in the workplace? In the hospital? In the legal system. This is tedious.
