thepostmillennial.com/jessica-yaniv-files-human-rights-complaint-against-beauty-pageant-for-not-letting-her-compete

Yaniv wants $10k

the pageant's policy, will only allow biological females, or "fully transitioned" TW with no male genitals

So Canada is in the unenviable position of flipping between ultra-woke (but corrupt) liberals and full-on right wing authoritarians (also corrupt). It's not quite in the Trump v. Biden league yet, but that's not saying much.

Er, not even close. While the recent Conservative leadership has tried to ape some of the insane US right wing tactics, it (thankfully) hasn't taken off in the majority of the country. The Liberals (Trudeau) are much closer to centre, despite Trudeau's showmanship and the few odd policies. The NDP are the most 'left' of the three main parties but no one would call them 'woke'.

Canadians tend to vote for policy over party. The country very much benefits from not having a Fox News/Murdoch influence driving divisive politics.

CaraDuneRedux · 26/10/2020 22:15

@Asmallyellowfruit - ah yes, those as well.

I do get the impression from my Trudeau worshipping friends that some of this (at least) comes from the Harper government being so bloody awful that they'll hold their noses and clap the telescope to their blind eye over just about anything bad that happens on Trudeau's watch because they think the alternative would be so much worse.

Trudeau's somehow clinging on with a minority government, but I think he'll go at the next election.

CaraDuneRedux · 26/10/2020 22:12

@WickedWestieWitch

I don't I've ever seen the phrase "male genitals" in an article so often ever in my life! Seems like the Canadian woke brigade are beginning to realise all might not be rosy in the garden of total male inclusion?
The Post Millenial is a right wing news site - think somewhere between the Express and the Sun, as far as I can gather. And the Canadian right - the sort who voted for Harper - are anything but woke.

The problem is that the Canadian right are also science denying, climate-change denialist, anti free-speech authoritarians. (Under the Harper goverment, all government scientists in Canada were gagged from speaking not only to the media, but even at scientific conferences, without first having their contributions vetted by Harper's political commissars).

So Canada is in the unenviable position of flipping between ultra-woke (but corrupt) liberals and full-on right wing authoritarians (also corrupt). It's not quite in the Trump v. Biden league yet, but that's not saying much.

No Canada is brilliant at making wokey-woke noises about making amends to first nations people

Literally just came out of lurkdom to say you dropped this:
www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5102981
And more recently this:
www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5734646
And the ever popular pipeline:
www.google.ca/amp/s/globalnews.ca/news/6634179/indigenous-consent-pipeline-protests/amp/

Trudeau was a drama teacher before he was an MP. Everything he does is theatrics, no substance. Oh...unless it’s trans anything. He makes sure that gets passed tout suite.

nepeta · 26/10/2020 22:07

Yaniv is the gift which keeps on giving. Yaniv's actions are of course completely logical consequences of the most extreme trans activist arguments but nobody was supposed to take this to such extremes.

WickedWestieWitch · 26/10/2020 22:04

BenoneBeauty · 26/10/2020 21:56

Another who never thought I'd be rooting for a beauty pageant. Jessica Yaniv is a vile bully and I can't believe that there isn't some law to prosecute Yaniv for all their time wasting court cases and bullying tendencies.

SaucyHorse · 26/10/2020 21:56

In a just world, JY would be excluded from a room with children changing simply based on the fact that JY is an obvious paedo who wants to talk to young girls about inserting tampons.

TweeBree · 26/10/2020 21:55

So Canada has created this ultra-woke mythology about itself, but the reality is very, very different.

I lived and worked there for a stint and have family there. They don't see themselves as woke at all, they see themselves as nice, which is a very different thing. Most Canadians are pretty conservative, even if they vote otherwise.

Re: Yaniv - Can only hope that the continued vexatious complaints will result in Yaniv being banned from raising any further complaints.

BoggledBudgie · 26/10/2020 21:40

Clearly I’ve yet to learn how to quote! Grin

BoggledBudgie · 26/10/2020 21:39

“There is no evidence that full surgery renders a male incapable of harming women. If it did, then castrating sexual offenders would have been proven to work in stopping them reoffending. But it hasn't. A person with violent tendencies retains them and there are not only a fair few cases of post-op transsexuals committing serious crimes, the biggest study of post-op transsexuals in Sweden showed no difference between them and other males in their rates of criminality.”

In all honesty I never thought of it this way. I had the view that no male would go so far as to remove his penis in order to harm a woman. Off to do some thinking on that!

Babdoc · 26/10/2020 21:31

Doesn’t Canada have something equivalent to our “vexatious litigant”, to stop this attention seeking idiot bringing endless lawsuits?

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 26/10/2020 21:24

Doesn't Stef-o-knee also live in Canada?

Wonder who the second trans entry is for a beauty pageant which is open to little girls?

Kettlingur · 26/10/2020 20:53

Bold fail. Blush

Kettlingur · 26/10/2020 20:52

What Jessica Yaniv looks like is irrelevant, even in the context of a beauty pageant, in terms of the case they are bringing. There are a million things worse to criticise JY for than JY's looks.
I'm a bit taken aback that so many people here prefer to slag off someone's appearance, to be honest.

Oh cry me a river it's absolutely relevant, this is a beauty contest. If I were to enter one, in all my 46-year-old 4'11" overweight female glory, I'd be laughed out. This person wants to be seen and wants to be talked about, either because they are taking the piss or because they're deluded. In either case, people who take part in beauty contests can expect to have their looks talked about.

Why give so much space to this person?. Obviously an attention seeker.

KenDodd · 26/10/2020 20:47

It's not just about violence though, taking women's sports prizes is harming women.

wellbehavedwomen · 26/10/2020 20:46

If you look at the finalists last year, there's one very clear transwoman. I suspect they may have rules around the participation of anyone who could bring the pageant into disrepute, which would have nothing to do wth Yaniv's trans status, and everything to do with Yaniv's behaviour.

anotherhumanfemale · 26/10/2020 20:38

Oh no, I take it back, JY is living in Langley. It's a neighbouring suburb. Many of the waxing victims were in Surrey, I think.

anotherhumanfemale · 26/10/2020 20:35

Well, Yaniv has already been beaten THE TRANS COMPETITOR IS FROM YANIV's TOWN/SUBURB (Surey, just outside Vancouver!).

What shitty luck! 😂 Another trans competitor beat JY to it anyway! 😂

PurpleHoodie · 26/10/2020 20:24

Is this why Victoria's Secret decided to no longer put on public yearly runway shows?*

It's a rhetorical question**

**private runway shows may still be available to the vair rich

Buttybach · 26/10/2020 20:15

I have followed the various lawsuits that this Buffoon has made. It beggars belief!

ArabellaScott · 26/10/2020 20:13

Janiv is only going along with what the Canadian govt have sanctioned. So legally Yaniv is probably correct. Go for it, Jessica!

nancybotwinbloom · 26/10/2020 19:39

@Whatwouldscullydo

Give it a rest yaniv.

No one wants to see or touch your dick.

And that last place on earth you should he within a 50 mile radius of , is a room where little girls are getting changed.

Perfect summary right there
