I mean I'm not surprised but Bitesize is used by schools through the country as a supposed reliable, unbiased source of education material.

You can complain here:

www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints/make-a-complaint

Or email your MP and cc MPs Safe Schools Alliance on info@safeschoolsallianceuk.

In the tweet thread there are some people already complaining. I'm not a defund the BBC kind of person but I can see why license fee layers are questioning what the BBC are doing with their money (there is a website 'BBC complaints' that's all about biased Brexit coverage).

@jj1968

Barrel and bottom of.

It's true I'm afraid. A lot of women in the sector are really pissed off with you. They think you're distracting from the true problems facing the sector which is the funding crisis, putting survivors at risk by creating unnecessary fears and are deeply insulted that you think they would put women at risk when few of you know anything about how the sector actually operates

Will this torrent of spite on this thread never stop?
OldCrone · 23/10/2020 16:30

Most of you lot are too terrified to tweet in your own names in case someone from HR has a quiet word

So do you tweet in your own name? If not, why not?

You do realise that some women on here need their jobs and can't afford to be fired for voicing unpopular opinions, don't you?

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 23/10/2020 16:25

The right not to be discriminated against in jobs housing and services based on our gender identity or presentation

everyone has this

right to adequate healthcare specific to trans needs

come on. this is definitely a thing

the right to be able to use spaces like toilets and changing rooms without risk of harassment or assault

you have this, everyone has this

the right to legal recognition of our gender

what the fuck does this mean? what do you want, a party?

the right to be safe in the streets and in the workplace etc etc

you have this. everyone has this

happy days JJ. all your wishes have been granted. now you can leave women alone

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/10/2020 16:23

You already have those rights. The right you don't have is to appropriate all the sex based rights of the opposite sex.

CorvusPurpureus · 23/10/2020 16:22

Why do you need 'legal recognition of your gender'?

It's of no interest to anyone else.

I'm an old goth. I know literally dozens of male people who present in a 'feminine' way when they're going to a gig or a club. & yes, any number of them have been hassled or even assaulted for it whilst travelling to or from an event.

The men who were hostile or aggressive to a bloke in a frilly blouse & eyeliner weren't concerned with his gender. They just didn't like what they saw as effeminacy.

Campaign for greater acceptance for people who dress in an unusual way, sure - SOPHIE have done great work on this. But a legally recognised 'gender' is simply a legal fiction, & unlike adoption, say, it's of very little benefit to anyone - unless of course you happen to be a man who doesn't like women having boundaries & their own spaces.

Whatwouldscullydo · 23/10/2020 16:13

Whats far right about sex based protections?

I mean you want ours so you cant be against them?

jj1968 · 23/10/2020 16:12

@WeeBisom

"Most of you lot are too terrified to tweet in your own names in case someone from HR has a quiet word or some friends are socially disapproving."

Don't forget the fact that when women speak up about this they get rape threats. I remember when JK Rowling expressed the most anodyne of opinions and was told to go choke on a dick. Maybe if the trans rights side loosened the boots off our necks we would be happier to go out and protest and speak publicly about this.

I condemn without reservation the misogynist abuse that all women receive online. But you seriously think BLM campaigners, climate change campaigners or even trans rights campaigners don't get that too? Have you seen Dawn Butler's mentions, or Ash Sarkars? Women have literally been murdered for standing up to the far right. The same far right that some gender critical activists seem happy to court incidentally.
Whatwouldscullydo · 23/10/2020 16:09

Oh and if you want better health care then stop changing sex markers at the drs... sex matters in medicine

Whatwouldscullydo · 23/10/2020 16:08

You have all those rights like everyone else does.

What entitles you to the sex based rights of women if someone is born male ?

jj1968 · 23/10/2020 16:07

@Whatwouldscullydo

if women genuinely cared that much they'd be out on the streets like they are for climate change protests, BLM, social spending cuts and even pro trans rights

What rights are you lacking besides access to half naked women and girls?

The right not to be discriminated against in jobs, housing and services based on our gender identity or presentation, the right to adequate healthcare specific to trans needs, the right to be able to use spaces like toilets and changing rooms without risk of harassment or assault, the right to legal recognition of our gender, the right to be safe in the streets and in the workplace etc etc

You may have noticed the protest marches achieve very little. You may have missed the huge grassroots movement of thousands of women all of whom care, and who are fighting for their rights in more intelligent ways, papers in journals, government committees, media stories, seminars, writing to MPs etc. Women cared enough to stop the Westminster government enacting self ID for example...

Siameasy · 23/10/2020 16:04

I would love to know:
Definition of trans
What rights they don’t have
Name of third etc gamete
How do I know if my child is trans

HecatesCats · 23/10/2020 15:58

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine

Most women couldn't care less, especially about toilets and changing rooms with cubicles

Not true. Where polls have explained that a transwoman is a man who is trans, not a woman who is trans, women are against.

If women genuinely cared that much they'd be out on the streets like they are for climate change protests, BLM, social spending cuts and even pro trans rights. You're lucky if you can get 50 people out. Women are facing courts and prisons and violent police everyday to protest against this shitshow of a society. Most of you lot are too terrified to tweet in your own names in case someone from HR has a quiet word or some friends are socially disapproving. Gender critical activism looks more like a hobby for a lot of people than a political movement against the errm forced extinction of women, just look at Posie and Harry and Venice, they're having a whale of a time. If 'women' really cared that much about this so called existential threat there'd be women in jail right now, just like there was when women fought for the vote or stormed the Palace of Versaille and murdered the guards.
ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/10/2020 15:50

No it reflects the fact that trans women, as in those who have actually transitioned, make up a tiny percentage of people in the UK.

That's a bit exclusionary isn't it? Hmm

Whatwouldscullydo · 23/10/2020 15:49

Doesn't that rather knock a hole in the suggestion that trans women are the most oppressed and most at risk group in the country?

Channel four fact check actually put them as the safest demographic in the UK.

In fact there are more in jail for murder than there are that have been murdered in the UK.

One murder is one too many obviously, however in some countries the murdering of women is so common it has its own name. Femicide.

There are millions of missing women from sex selective abortions and dunking baby girls on the trash heap

And then there's the thousands of indigenous women in Canada who just disappeared too.

And yet we are meant to believe that males who wish to embrace stereotypical traits of the opposite sex are the most oppressed in the world and not being able to expose yourself amongst unconsenting members of the opposite sex is the same as black people not even being able to sit down on a bus or enter a storeHmm

The sooner people stop believing this stuff the better

Datun · 23/10/2020 15:48

Trans groups could easily fund a rape refuge. Vancouver rape refuge is self funded, now transactivists have successfully got government funding withdrawn.

It's not about the space.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/10/2020 15:45

Again, what is "actual transitioning"?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/10/2020 15:45

I'd be surprised if more than half a dozen trans women are housed in the refuge sector each year. A trans only refuge is not viable.

Then if it's such a small number, there can be other solutions which don't involve accommodation of males with vulnerable women, or women being forced to share counselling with males against their will.

Swallowzandamazons · 23/10/2020 15:37

A very wise lady explained to me how I'd truly know when a relationship was over. She said it wasn't about the arguments, the infidelities or even the lies.

It's the contempt. Once contempt arrives, there's no return.

I see here someone who's showing utter contempt for women and their opinions, fears, worries, preferences, desires and needs.

This is exactly why we don't want males of any kind in our spaces. Contempt.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/10/2020 15:37

Just wanted to back up this statement:

I know some will disagree with the link, but the post links back to all of the original sources.
