I'd be most concerned about Be happy, or I'll kick your cunt in. I would not live with someone who thought threatening violence to women was a joke.

I realise someone else originally posted that picture, but your partner is passing it on. It doesn't matter how much you think he wouldn't do it. It's that he thinks it's funny. Because injuring women is so funny.

HipTightOnions · 21/10/2020 17:10

My DH belongs to a hobby-related group in which this type of thing is sometimes posted. He commented critically and it has made him quite unpopular.

Not with me though Smile

ImEatingVeryHealthilyOhYes · 21/10/2020 17:04

Sorry OP I bet you’re gutted Flowers

It’s not as easy as ltb when you’ve built a life together is it

Staffy1 · 21/10/2020 16:57

I feel like I've stumbled into the twilight zone. Am I the only one that wouldn't be that bothered by this? I have seen the equivalent posted by my female friends, pictures of attractive young men next to a horse, with the caption "what horse?" for example.

TeeBee · 21/10/2020 16:51

He posts that and you're concerned about YOUR attractiveness???? The worlds gone mad. He sounds like a twat...ergo unattractive to me.

Etulosba · 21/10/2020 16:37

I can’t believe these men are doing this on a public Facebook group

I don't know much about Facebook but I am a member of several (adult) male dominated forums. Most have a thread devoted to pictures of that ilk. It's normal.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 21/10/2020 16:32

I wouldn't really think anything. Facebook friends of mine have posted a meme/pic of the odd topless man in a kilt with six pack or fireman with just trousers and braces on. Same with that, I don't really think anything of it.

Betheanne · 21/10/2020 16:27

This is embarrassing. It doesn't reflect well on him or you. I'm a bit harder than most, being older and divorced but I would just instantly dump him. What if my friends saw that???

Bool · 21/10/2020 16:27

God I would have the ick so badly there would be no return. My partner wouldn't post something like that because he's not an immature, sexist, leery prick. Raise your bar - stop worrying about whether he wants you and think about why on earth you want him!!

And this. The ick! Yep that would give me the ick

Bool · 21/10/2020 16:26

Shouldn't the question be 'how can i ever be attracted to him again?'

This .

Isthisannoying · 21/10/2020 16:24

God just realised it your partner op. Sorry. This is really scummy.

HaventCriedThisMuchForYears · 21/10/2020 16:23

Rather maturely I’ve now changed his contact details, just in case I forget who he really is

I'd cringe my skin off. Assume that he'd had a body swap with a teenager or was having a breakdown. Unless he need serious psychological help I'd have to leave him I'd be so fucking embarrassed.

EvenSupposing · 21/10/2020 16:21

So it's a group devoted to putting stuff like this up isn't it? I'm not sure why you didn't leave him when he joined it? And also doesn't research show that guys who get together to show the world how heterosexual they are are far more likely to be gay than those who don't feel the need to? Not a comment on being gay, just enjoying the irony.

You could remind him - on your way out of the door - that the impression he is providing the world with is not so much 'look what a virile chap I am' but 'look how incredibly fragile my masculinity is.'

dottiedodah · 21/10/2020 16:20

And by the way you have done nothing wrong at all .Just been taken in by yet another vile misogynist who likes to see women as some kind of fresh Meat on display!

dottiedodah · 21/10/2020 16:19

I think I would say to him that if he doesnt remove it ,then you will be thinking about whether you wish to be married to someone that resembles Jay from the Inbetweeners! Honestly the 1st and 3rd pictures are bad enough ,but the second one is absolutely disgusting! I feel sad that after 50 odd years of Feminism we are still subjected to this filthy crap .

HaventCriedThisMuchForYears · 21/10/2020 16:15

we get the idea, no need to keep giving the group publicity hmm

I don’t think most MN are exactly going to get off on that kind of thing are they?

I’m honestly quite surprised that they deem it acceptable

OP posts:
CuriousaboutSamphire · 21/10/2020 16:10

Well, it's handy that they all congregate where they can easily be found. We can all see who to avoid!

I am so sorry, OP. Knowing the man who shares your life, sees you naked, touches you, not only finds that sort of crap amusing but feels free to revel in it publicly must make your skin crawl.

Pertella · 21/10/2020 16:09

we get the idea, no need to keep giving the group publicity Hmm

HaventCriedThisMuchForYears · 21/10/2020 16:06

I joined the group just out of curiosity - someone’s posted another one.

I can’t believe these men are doing this on a public Facebook group 😯

OP posts:
Eviebeans · 21/10/2020 15:56

How is your relationship with him otherwise?

newnameforthis123 · 21/10/2020 15:55

Yes I don’t know how I’ll find him attractive either.

You have agency over your life OP! If you don't find him attractive because of his horrible attitude and immature misogynistic sense of humour, you're perfectly entitled to break up with him. While some people will say "it's just a post" the truth is it's a public declaration of who he is - and he's grim! And he hasn't deleted it despite it upsetting you. He's not respectful of your feelings at all.

HaventCriedThisMuchForYears · 21/10/2020 15:53

The other men who commented are not his friends just other people on the group.

He knows that I’ve seen it, he knows I’m very upset but hasn’t removed it. It’s quite usual for him to post things that push the boundaries but he’s never shared anything like this before.

Yes I don’t know how I’ll find him attractive either.

OP posts:
RedWine123 · 21/10/2020 15:39

I’d think that he’s rancid and wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole. Disrespectful. Sad. Yuck.

Eviebeans · 21/10/2020 15:36

You are obviously upset and if he knows you at all he would know that it would make you feel like that...
