In a Q&A he said he'll reverse all 'anti trans' executive orders if he becomes president. He revealed again that he doesn't really know anything about the trans debate but implied he will still give campaigners everything they want twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1316913590620852224?s=20

The "not-males" thing was a gotcha. Either no one would pick up on it and you could feel smug at having got one over on the women of FWR or someone would pick it up and you could spring your "bigot trap".

DameFanny · 16/10/2020 12:08

And I'm just one woman here - I'll put up a picture of my c section scar if you want to be sure - not telling women to shut up, but asking women to have more than one stupid thought in their head that plays straight into the hands of the kinder kirche küche patriarchy currently taking over the States

DameFanny · 16/10/2020 12:05

Using not-male as a way to focus on the source of the discrimination as being the patriarchy, but you continue with your obsession with ensuring femaleness is pure and unsullied by association with other expressions of gender Hmm

And completely fail to engage with any of my examples of women-hurting discrimination currently going on

Well bloody done

Floisme · 16/10/2020 12:05

Or ... Congress could actually legislate a federal law (like they should have in the first place) instead of having relied on unelected judges to make and hold this decision for all these years.

Kitty I've never really understood why this hasn't happened but then I'm not in the US. What's your take on it?

FWRLurker · 16/10/2020 11:52

It was a dumb, low ball question with an obvious and meaningless answer. “Do you hate my trans daughter like Mr Trump?”

“No! Mr Trumps is bad and I am not so I will undo whatever he did!”

Would have liked to see what he said if women’s sport was brought up. But of course it never is.

BovaryX · 16/10/2020 11:45

@Floisme

What on earth is a not-male?
It is a crystal clear example of a total contempt for women as a linguistic description of an exclusive sex category. It epitomises a belief that natal women need to sit down, shut up and listen to natal males even on issues of our existence as a group. It is another example of the ongoing attack on language and the determination to permanently sever words from their meanings and the external reality they describe. It is both laughable. And frightening. It is frightening because of the craven propensity of craven politicos to capitulate to the Robespierre faction and the existential threat they pose to freedom of speech, diversity of opinion and rational debate.
Aesopfable · 16/10/2020 11:37

Is the language being used to describe this person derogatory to not-males, whether that person is male or female?

What does this mean?

Calling women ‘not-males’ is derogatory.

Floisme · 16/10/2020 11:33

What on earth is a not-male?

DameFanny · 16/10/2020 11:26

@Floisme

Well how do you fight for women's rights if you can't define what a woman is? Can you answer the question?
Of course!

Is there a disadvantage in front of me because I'm not male?

Is the language being used to describe this event exclusionary to not-males?

Is the language being used to describe this person derogatory to not-males, whether that person is male or female?

Am I being expected to police the behaviour of males in order to keep myself safe?

In the States, do I have to drive more than 100 miles to access female-oriented healthcare, because Planned Parenthood has been driven out?

Do I have to declare heavy periods as a pre-existing condition which could affect my ability to get treatment for endemetriosis?

Does my employer have the right to refuse me birth control pills on my company-paid "healthcare' plan while signing off on Cialis with no problems?

Just a few examples which have nothing to do with trans or inter-sex, and which also don't involve 'butch' looking women being driven out of the loos in M&S.

Also, that poster seems to think we are worried about the rights of trans people - I am only worried about the rights of women, who last time I looked were 49% of the population, not 1%. (according to google). And as we keep showing on here, when women are being told to shut up - women's rights are being abused.
BovaryX · 16/10/2020 11:20

I dont think anyone could reasonably argue that. Those high minded ideals would have been out the window if it was Trumps son. It's that type of unfairness and one sidedness that irks US voters, and increases support for Trump.Imo

Precisely. Tech is dominated by a narrow, insular political orthodoxy. It is not neutral and its media control makes legacy media barons look parochial. This is an issue about freedom of speech. But of course freedom of speech means nothing to those who want complete narrative control and whose tactics are to demonize anyone who won't obediently submit to increasingly totalitarian demands. It's the same old playlist. Accuse people of 'crimes of adjacency,' make unsubstantiated accusations and try to insinuate that you are a Nazi if you are not left wing. And they wonder why every election result leaves them in shock and awe....

7Days · 16/10/2020 11:08

I see your point Sedlescombe , but it looks very one sided. It would NOT have happened to a Trump scandal - I dont think anyone could reasonably argue that. Those high minded ideals would have been out the window if it was Trumps son.

It's that type of unfairness and one sidedness that irks US voters, and increases support for Trump.
Imo.

DameFanny · 16/10/2020 10:59

This is why I avoid this board these days. It's dead to women's rights, dead to discussion of what the patriarchy as actually up to. Solely focused on a tiny proportion of society more likely to be victim than abuser. And every single fucking question about women's rights, about actual abuses of women's rights and abuse of women is met with well there's no point fighting for women's rights if we can't exactly define what a woman is. Someone on here actually said that to me once, and if any of you had any fucking sense or shame you would have flamed up at the sheer shittiness of that statement but no, you're all happy to sit here discussing ways to pretend that transwomen are all predators and transmen are all misguided victims and that intersex people are all very unfortunate but really not the point and ignore the actual violations of women's rights happening right under your noses.

Couldn't be more patriarchal if you tried.

Sedlescombe · 16/10/2020 10:57

@7Days

Missed your last, DameFanny.

The question is, are the allegations true?
Not, I don't like who said it.
Is it true that massive tech giants are 'interfering' ? What gives them the right, how do they know?
Again, it's not about my team says this, therefore I believe.

Surely the first rule of journalism is "how reliable is the source"

The second rule is when you learn that the source of the story is Russia you verify the story before running it.

You certainly don't run rumours without an investigation which is what Giuliani was trying to provoke. Damage Biden before the election because who will care if it is untrue afterwards. The world has at least learned something from 2016

Imnobody4 · 16/10/2020 10:55

I'm sick and tired of the Trump Biden show. Democracy has reached the event horizon in a matter of years we'll be in the black hole.
The left has become obsessed with an unobtainable idea of perfect social justice, it's a darn sight easier than actually managing fairness between different factions and groups in the real world. It's infantile and I blame them for Trump.

Aesopfable · 16/10/2020 10:53

why does the system produce such awful candidates?

WarOnWomen · 16/10/2020 10:49

Biden's answer to that mother was a mess, incoherent and rambling. Ugh. What a choice between the two.

In terms of the murder rate in the USA, the murder rates for 2019 have just been published.

According to statista.com, 2991 females were murdered in 2019 and of those the highest rate is for girl babies under 1, which is shocking.

BovaryX · 16/10/2020 10:48

@7Days

Interesting link Bovary put up above.

Essentially Joe Biden 's sons laptop fell into the hands of the New York Post.
There were photos of him taking drugs, and another potential " Buttery Male " scare about emails regarding dodgy deals with China and Ukraine.
Twitter and Facebook slammed all links from the NY Post immediately.

Whatever you think about Trump, that would NOT have happened to a mainstream news source with dirt on the Trump side.

It is worrying, given the reach those tech giants have.

Absolutely. Tech is not neutral and that is a direct threat to freedom of speech. It is interesting that some posters are denouncing the OP for posting on this. The people who want to shut down debate because they demand complete narrative control are on display. They need to be challenged and expecting people to obediently sit down and shut up isn't going to cut it. Neither is calling people 'trolls ' for refusing to parrot Dem talking points.

Well these troll hunters are doing a great job of pushing me towards Trump - if only I had a vote Grin

7Days · 16/10/2020 10:44

That's not quite true DameFanny.
Human rights for a tiny proportion of the population is a good thing, which everyone supports.
But lots not that simple is it, it is about truth and science, weakness in the face of aggression, telling convenient lies, disregarding the rights of one group when put up against the other group.

Calling everyone alt right or phone or whatever is a tactic that has a shelf life - I wish the Dems would see that and put their feet properly on the ground and aim to actually solve some problems.

BlueCatRedCat · 16/10/2020 10:42

@pequini

On no fucking planet is Trump more pro women's rights than Biden. Grab them by the pussy. Do what you want to them? Come on!
Do you not believe Tara Reade, then?

You're really going to believe an unsubstantiated story from Rudy Giuliani? At this stage of the race? Mimicking the timing of the Clinton emails that turned out to be absolutely nothing? Have you learned nothing?
DameFanny · 16/10/2020 10:38

@ripx4nutmeg

I think they're the two worst candidates I've seen out of every US election I've either followed or read about.

But to quote Gad Saad: 'You have one candidate who lies about the size of his penis because he's a narcissist, while the other lies that a man with a penis can be a woman because that's what his party supports'.

One is more of a threat to women, children, free speech, humour and science than the other, even if he doesn't realise that he is

And this is how 'GC' feminism is radicalised to the far right.

When you look at Trump Vs Biden and think that human rights for a tiny proportion of the population is more worrying than the continuation of anti-woman and anti-science policies of Trump.

When you think that it's fine to be on the same side as Tommy Robinson.

When you think that a country overturning Roe Vs Wade will somehow magically allow abortion in federal legislation, because you don't want to admit that denying women healthcare is an acceptable cost of denying transwomen everything.

Voting is a chess move not a valentine. Maybe you should give Rebecca Solnit another go, instead of taking your feminism from fascist-leaning men?
