So this is the Mirror article about gender gp

'An undercover reporter approached the firm posing as the mum of a fictional 12-year-old named Scarlet who wanted to transition.'

'We were told Scarlet could be given puberty blockers within three weeks following a one-hour consultation with a therapist – without a follow-up appointment in person.'

Puberty blockers for a 12 year old after 1 appointment.

'GenderGP operates entirely within the law and follows international published guidance on the care of transgender patients of all ages. There is no published UK medical guidance.”'

What is this mysterious international guidance? Is it that wpath thing?

And is there really no UK guidance, and if not, why not?

This is horrifying. I'm glad it's coming out. 'Bypassing safeguards' is exactly the right phrase.

Overwhelmingly sensible and supportive comments on Times article.

As always Jo Marsh is a treasure!

Oh, but this never happens

Hmm

Clymene, that podcast transcript is horrific.

GendeGP are still talking about referrals from mermaids and being invited on their residential weekends www.gendergp.com/raising-a-trans-teen-podcast/

The link came off the mermaids website but parents are still extolling the ease of getting blockers from the pm according to the times recently

Sunlight at last
I want to know about any recent links with Mermaids; are Mermaids recommending them?

persistentwoman · 10/10/2020 23:32

It exposes all the lies that are told doesn't it about children never being given these drugs (even by some of those who pop up on here to berate us for our wrong think)?

The more sunlight shed on these abusive practices aimed at children, the better.

The good news, I guess, is the media is finally talking openly about these things... Not so long ago, their silence was deafening (or rather, they all sounded like propaganda machines regurgitating the same mantra)

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 10/10/2020 23:10

I'd love to know what would have happened if the reporter had posed as the twelve year old rather than the mother...

PronounssheRa · 10/10/2020 22:59

I'm guessing so.

Webberley has previously said the case of the 12 yr old where she previously prescribed blockers was very unusual. Yet here is gender gp offering blockers to a fictional 12 yr old after one on line appointment.

I take it this is the article that the times was hinting at

It's probably best to archive webpages like this:
