@Pelleas

I credited you with enough intelligence not to use the word 'exactly' when that wasn't what you meant. Or are you one of those people who thinks 'literally' is an emphatic, not a descriptor?
I am perfectly aware of what literally means. I genuinely did not think it was necessary to spell out that you literally did not say something but that your arguments lead to that conclusion. Clearly I was mistaken.

I really hope it stands. I’ve told people here things that I’ve been too ashamed to tell friends, counsellors and even my ex husband.

Plus there are all the eloquent explanations about children’s boundaries and ability to consent

SterFran00 · 27/09/2020 16:43

@DarkmilkAddict

LouMumsnet please, if you can, delete all the posts you need to but try to retain most of the information here. It relates to a very controversial situation involving children that that isn’t often discussed
I agree with you, I was composing a similar reply
DarkmilkAddict · 27/09/2020 16:41

There’s an interest group that would probably be very pleased if the whole thread was deleted

Afternoon all. We've had a fair few reports about this thread and have had to delete several personal attacks. If this continues, we'll have to remove the thread entirely.

If anyone has concerns about other posters, please report their posts directly to us rather than tackling this on the thread, as it only serves to derail the discussion.

Thanks all.

@Pelleas

You didn't say that literally but your defence of parents' "right" to make their children be naked in public in front of strangers comes to the same thing.

You saying it 'comes to the same thing' isn't me saying 'exactly that' then, is it? 'It comes to the same thing' means you are choosing to wilfully misinterpret and twist my posts to suit your own agenda, presumably because you're unable to refute my actual, exact words. You're inventing things I haven't said to construct a straw man argument.

Oh for goodness sake- I credited you with enough intelligence to work out I wasn't saying you said that literally word for word. The sum of your argument however is exactly the same.
Pelleas · 27/09/2020 16:21

@testing987654321

So pelleas, why are you here arguing for children being involved in naturist communities? Did you grow up going to them with your family?
Why don't you read the full thread, testing?

Yes, is the short answer.

Thanks
DarkmilkAddict · 27/09/2020 16:16

I could see the enjoyment on their faces. There was nothing I could do to escape

DarkmilkAddict · 27/09/2020 16:15

I think the fact that children have emotions, feelings and boundaries just adds to the fun of it for sine people.

For example the men who watched me, a shy naked teenage girl, while they lay back in the sun

Pelleas · 27/09/2020 16:13

@Shedbuilder

Why don't you take a moment to consider that you are talking to a real person here, who has feelings?

Ah, the hurt feelings defence. And your children's feelings?

I don't have children.

DidoLamenting · 27/09/2020 16:06

@Pelleas

Actually you did say exactly that. I suggest you read back your own posts.

If that's the case, please use the helpful Mumsnet quote feature to quote me saying 'it's fine for parents to bully, intimidate or coerce their children to be naked in public in front of strangers because some other people are cool with it'.

Oh come off it. You didn't say that literally but your defence of parents' "right" to make their children be naked in public in front of strangers comes to the same thing.
DarkmilkAddict · 27/09/2020 16:06

Actually it’s a very old angle isn’t it? The hurt feelings.

Let’s all shush down about children’s boundaries

DarkmilkAddict · 27/09/2020 16:03

Well that’s a new angle
