Well, I guess I'll see you all here again next year.

StephenKong · 25/09/2020 15:14

Oh, don't talk rot Hmm.

Comefromaway · 25/09/2020 15:12

I guess thats the difference between those who see bodies as something shameful or sexual and those who see bodies as natural and free.

StephenKong · 25/09/2020 14:58

@Comefromaway

I also used to run kids classes. Our Cp training told us that paedophiles would always try and gain access to places where there are children whether that be swimming pools, sports teams or whatever and that everyone must be vigilant regardless.
How do you square that with encouraging all round nudity? These people might consider themselves part of a "community", but they're all strangers to each other.
VinylDetective · 25/09/2020 14:57

What is the point in being naked for a swim though? What do you actually get from it?

Asks someone who’s obviously never swum naked. It’s like the difference between sex with and without a condom. I’m not a naturist but I love a skinny dip when I get the chance.

I live in Stoke. These events have been going on since my childhood (which was quite some time ago). Not my think but there is more danger in the Girl Guides at the moment than at Waterworld. Mo Chaudry has been working with the naturists for donkeys years. He's not going to stop hiring to them now just because a few vigilantes that pop up every year.

I knew someone who was jailed for paedophilia. He was a fellow guest at a wedding we attended with my kids when they were little. It's sickening what he did but I know as a parent I protected my children as much as possible by supervision and education.

Nobody is being rude. They asked a question and were told it had been answered already, "many times". It hasn't.

SterFran00 · 25/09/2020 13:25

@Comefromaway

Ignore them Ster, they are being incredibly rude to you. I'm always interested in hearing about different ways of life.
Thank you, I appreciate that

@SterFran00

Seems like an article designed to inflame... we are a naturist family and have been to loads of UK events and the swims. These events are run by the naturist organisation for the naturist community. They are not full of paedophiles...

Quote it then, I can't see it?

SterFran00 · 25/09/2020 11:47

@StephenKong

It's a perfectly valid question, SterFran, and it speaks volumes that you've been so dismissive rather than actually answer it. Tells us all we need to know.
If you read back through the thread, it’s all there, many times...

@Handsoffisback

ster can you answer me this, why do children need to be around naked adults? What benefit do they get seeing a grown mans genitals?
You’ve been personally rude to me all the way through this thread. I’m happy to interact with those who don’t personally attack me, but I’m not engaging in a conversation with you because of this.

A good point to raise here is that naturists are regular people from a vast cross section of society. I’ve met cleaners, nurses, engineers, social workers, children’s charity executives to name a small few. So as well as parents looking after their children, there’s people who’s profession lends them to being trained in child protection and safe guarding. They would raise alarms if someone was acting untoward or displaying worrying behaviour. The same as we would do in any situation regardless if it was our our children or someone else’s...
