The awful trend on Twitter

Hi, I don't post often, but I've seen the awful twitter trend today in regard to J K Rowling, I just feel so scared and defeated about women's rights, why are more people not up in arms and defending us? I also fear for her and women's safety, as some of these TRA's seem really unhinged.

My twitter feed is full of people professing their love for her and defending her. The other stuff barely appears.

It's also been confirmed that the killer in her book is a 'cis' male, so not trans at all. She isn't actually saying anything about trans people at all.

They don't like it, of course, because it highlights that that's exactly what non trans male predators can do to get access to women and girls, if all males are technically allowed in women's spaces by virtue of self ID.

I need to get off social media, I'm in a full blown facebook argument about the fact she didn't name herself after a fucking gay conversion therapist.

Funny how her pen name wasnt a problem 5 years ago.

I don't follow many people on Twitter but this would be a quick way of filtering out anyone who would sink low enough to retweet such an abhorrent message. It takes a certain mentality to think that sharing that is acceptable.

Seeing this has prompted me to start writing that letter I've been meaning to write to JKR saying thank you for speaking up.

Also enlightening to see the JK critics on Twitter arguing about the difference between trans people and cross dressers and how distressing this is.

Obviously not in line with the Stonewall definition of the broadchurch which is trans.

The contradictions and arguments are laughable.

That's awful, and a good example of why women need their own spaces. It is one less internal inhibitor for someone to offend a place they are allowed to be in, while a single space in no way guarantees any protection, it is a very thin extra layer. I hope your daughter is OK

The more these activists behave like this, the more people they peak. "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." We've all seen how they act, the disgusting, warped shit they come out with.

They're sinking their own ship. Unfortunately, they're doing genuine trans people no favours whilst they're at it.

Nope.

Need to be over 18, have a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, and live 'in role', which means putting all your gas bills, etc into female names.

Nowhere does it say you need to use female facilities. 🙄

I'd want to know before I bought a ticket for something if part of the money was being to donated to a transgender charity. I like to avoid giving money to charities that encourage child abuse.
