Tammy Clinch was in hospital after giving birth to her youngest daughter, when her husband came to her with news that changed their marriage forever

What a horrible bastard.

I can't think of. More vulnerable time for a woman.

Again, as is the usual way with these transwomen 'ME ME ME, ITS ALL ABOUT MEEEEEEEE'

ItalianHat · 14/09/2020 16:56

It always has been, sadly.

ArabellaScott · 14/09/2020 15:33

I've seen in the past week a video of a woman being strangled by a policeman and a pregnant woman being arrested for organising a party - both in Australia. And now this. And Marie Stopes. It looks like Aus is a scary place to be a woman right now.

NotYourCisterinAus · 14/09/2020 14:19

Bumping to add: Beth Rep has reached the stretch target of her fund-raiser. I've also heard that she will be appealing the verdict. So far it hasn't been confirmed, but I'm hoping it's true (fingers crossed!) If it is, I'll be slinging a few more dollars her way.

SorryAuntLydia · 10/09/2020 08:55

In addition to paying compensation, the tribunal told Ms Rep to delete "all posts, statements, information, suggestions or implications" on the matter and refrain from the same or similar posts in future.

^This is why we need to keep fighting. Ms Rep has to refrain from making similar posts in future ie shut up woman you are no longer permitted to have opinions.

So no freedom of speech in Oz now.

they also punished her for not deleting the comments

Really, it's not what was said, or not said, or 'liked' or not deleted that matters, is it?

The reason that the feminist was fined is nothing to do with events that did or didn't happen. It's just about 'identities'.

EyesOpening · 09/09/2020 21:30

I believe it's well recognised that abuse and coercive control often begins when a woman is pregnant. No idea if that was the case with this particular relationship but I thought I'd point it out

yes, I was thinking that too when I read it

Cailleach1 · 09/09/2020 21:06

Yes, I agree I think such behaviour is mental cruelty and narcissism, too. Can you imagine the utter exhaustion of caring for a young baby and then that gets piled onto your lap? Instead of getting support the rug is pulled out from under you.

Clymene · 09/09/2020 20:56

Have any men been fined gif saying mean things about women? Because I can guarantee you Australian men have posted much more offensive things about women

OvaHere · 09/09/2020 20:11

@ItalianHat

Good Lord *@EyesOpening* yes!

Tammy Clinch was in hospital after giving birth to her youngest daughter, when her husband came to her with news that changed their marriage forever.

How to make it all about him. Mental cruelty and narcissism.

ThinEndoftheWedge · 09/09/2020 19:53

I wish the world would stop.

This is insane.

FWRLurker · 09/09/2020 17:18

Headline should be “Woman fined $10,000 for things Anonymous transphobic men said on social media”

I mean it’s literally a rule of misogyny isn’t it??

ItalianHat · 09/09/2020 17:08

nepeta · 09/09/2020 17:04

Do these same rules apply to misogynistic comments about women on Facebook or Twitter etc? If someone makes those comments or likes the ones others make on their Facebook page? Or are the rules only for LGBT+ cases?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 09/09/2020 15:38

the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal yesterday found Ms Rep breached discrimination laws when she 'liked' offensive comments on the post, and ordered she pay Ms Clinch $10,000 in compensation. And what happened to those who made the comments?

"Once she was aware of the comments and did not remove them, she is responsible for them." Oh! I see! Woman is repsonsible for every bloody thing, again!

Insane.

And that bloody T shirt and the lovely 'salute'! - was that picture a sly editorial, do you think?

nachthexe · 09/09/2020 15:31

I’m pissy about the t-shirt.
I want one that switches the medal-esque rainbow strip with the female symbol.
I fought for your rights, will you fight for mine? Stupid fucker. Whilst the military does likely have a higher statistical average of cross-dressing men than civvie street (for all sorts of reasons, including and not limited to trying to prove masculinity and opting for the ultimate ‘male’ career, fuck you social transgression, and a wee (!) but of misogyny) there are also statistically fuck loads more women in the ranks than transgender males.
So fuck you and your t shirt, ‘Tammy’, are YOU going to stand up for the rights of the women you served with?
I have the rage. Must be due on or something.

Gurufloof · 09/09/2020 15:27

So now we are responsible for our writings, which fair enough, but also anyone else who writes stuff.
Jesus this is mind blowing. So anyone can write offensive stuff on my Facebook, and its then my fault if I dont remove it?
Ffs talk about being everyone's bloody mother.

Cailleach1 · 09/09/2020 15:00

Wow. That must be a wonderful country for women. If that is what happens when you are 'unkind' by not deleting comments made by someone else, there must be huge repercussions for men who are frothing women haters and / or criminals. Men who are misogynistic or who sexually assault or rape women or threaten to do so must feel the full force of the law and be put away for years and years.

TheChampagneGalop · 09/09/2020 14:01

*to fine

TheChampagneGalop · 09/09/2020 14:00

Must be a narcissist male bully's dream to be able to do fine women for liking the wrong comments.

testing987654321 · 09/09/2020 13:51

JK Rowling should definitely look at tweets/Facebook comments from Australia if that's the kind of payout you get. The stuff I saw against her was actual threats, not simply unpleasantness.

MoltenLasagne · 09/09/2020 13:42

*wrong think

MoltenLasagne · 09/09/2020 13:42

None of the comments she is quoting as liking are inciting anything - the worst you could say is that they are a little bit mean. I don't understand what the charge is that has been brought except possibly wrong thing and not being suitable cowed by a prior chastisement.

HerNameWasEliza · 09/09/2020 13:25

@BrollyKnickers

Wouldn't it be smashing if we all got 10k whenever something mean was said about us?
That would be quite a bill for some trans activitists! How much money would JK Rowling get? Looks like these comments were playground nonsense compared to what was said to her!
