Nipples

Sorry this is proper random and I wasn't sure where to put it, I can ask for it to be moved or deleted if people don't think it should be here.

This isn't some interesting feminist question and I feel kinda embarrassed typing it but here I go...I wear bras, and I like to wear comfy bras. I find basically only non-moulded plunge bras fit me well. We are a low income family and I buy most my bras in sales. The cheapest non-moulded plunge bras tend to be non padded. I find my nipples are therefore sometimes visible underneath my clothing.

I have nipples, I know everywhere I go if people can't see my nipples they still know I have nipples. I feel I have the right to wear comfy clothing that I can afford and roughly seeing the outline of nipples underneath someone's top is far from obscene. Yet I still feel anxious about it sometimes and I will generally not wear the most nippley bras under the tightest t-shirts and that kind of thing to make some accomodations.

I'm not sure what I'm asking. Does anyone else get self conscious about this? Does anyone else wear non padded bras/no bra so have sort of visible nipple bumps and to hell with what everyone else thinks? Am I being awful by sometimes having my nipples kinda visible under clothing?! Do people even notice?!

I am a bit like this. I have tiny breasts and could easily go bra less but I don't like the thought of my nipples showing through my clothes so I tend to wear bralettes with lining or padding. I know it is just in my head and people wouldn't notice or care if they did notice. And I know it's a double standard when men are free to show off their nipples.

I don’t wear padded bras, never have. I go for comfort first and price next in bras. When shopping I generally like to consider ethical production too but I have never found any organic or fair trade bras! I get the highest cotton or natural fibre content I can, but even that isn’t easy, they mostly seem to be made of synthetics. I’ve never really thought about my nipples being visible...

I don’t find it comfortable to go braless.

Can't say that I think about it at all OP.

You should get yourself to Asda (or similar supermarket) - not sure I've ever seen a non-padded plunge bra in a supermarket in fact, you must be trying hard to find such a specific requirement.

Funnily enough this post and one in relationships about a man who touches his own nipples a bit too much during sex were right next to each other on the active board. On that post someone made the point that as male nipples are often just as sensitive as women's, why is it seen as fine for men to just walk around bare chested, but women have to hide their nipples with padding or it's considered inappropriate dress.

Just buy nipple covers! Like a decorative plaster you can buy from most places that sell bras- sorted!

lookatmememe · 08/09/2020 18:37

Buy headlight dimmers. No more nipple exposure !

Oh my god, are you trying to say I'm a troll?! That's hilarious if so, I'm a longstanding poster. I guess theres a first time for everything.

You have counted the amount of times the OP said bra and nipples.
Well done, PP.

JamieLeeCurtains · 08/09/2020 18:20

Well you managed to get 'bra' in eight times to that post, and 'nipples' in eight times.

Well done, OP.

Mine are completely visible - I just looked. Never thought about it before. I pay more attention to people’s skin/hair/teeth - faces in general. Unless you have tassels hanging off them I don’t think anyone notices.

Just sew in a liner.
