Why 'MAP'?

I'm rather suspicious of the accounts claiming to be child MAP allies or even asking for contact.

From what I've seen a big objective for the MAP movement seems to be lowering the age of concent based on the fact that children want to have sex not only with each other but also with adults. They are pushing the idea that with the right education and some sort of exam, children as young as 5 should be able to earn the right to concent.

Now as I, you and any other person that has spent more than a few seconds with a child knows, children do not want to have sex. Teenagers maybe, but they only really want to have sex with each other and that is already legal from what 13?

So the MAP's need child allies to prove their point that children actually want to get into relationships with adults. That's never going to happen. So I think they've probably made up a load of false accounts saying their child MAP allies.

I also fear that these child MAP allie accounts could also be fronts for the trade of CSA images that are traded from twitter.

I don't think we would get to that stage - but I think that defences that are supposed to protect children have already been eroded. For instance the NSPCC seems more interested in 'acceptance without exception' than teaching children that they can and should have boundaries.

And so so many, as young as 10(or at least claiming to be) have MAP ally in their bio. How is this allowed?

What I find really worrying is that there are a bunch of kids on there (13/14/15 yos, boys and girls) taking the MAP/NOMAP identity , having AOA as low as 6 etc. These children need help, not a platform where they can get lost in this massive rabbit hole, get groomed and deeply entrenched in a pedophile "identity".

That's what frustrated me so much with these topics. As soon as anything comes up that is not 100% positive, it's automatically a hoax or right wingers making stuff up. You just need to do a bit of digging and there's far too much stuff for it to be 4chan messing about

I don't believe it is a hoax, but already there are attempts to link this to a hoax to discredit concerned voices, another tactic.

Afaik that specifically relates to homoerotic paedo/hebe/ephebe behaviours.

The Greek origins were possibly in part the result of the societal control of women and the guarding of paternity. Boys were the alternative 'non man'. (I've heard that for similar reasons lesbian relationships might have been more common).

But yes, the "-Philia" is so wrong. These people don't love children, and certainly not as friends.

So yes, let's ditch those '-philias' and stick to more accurate, non euphemistic terms along the lines of my previous post.

MAP on MN still means morning after pill to the vast majority of women I'd have thought.

I've seen paedophile used loads I don't think MAP is common use at all.

Actually the word pedophile slightly annoys me from an etymological perspective. We get the phile bit of some words from Classical Greek, as they had multiple words for love e.g. agape, storge, philia and eros. Philia means the love between friends, it’s Eros that represents sexual lust and attraction. We actually have a lesser used word in old psychological literature: Pederast. I often wonder if the world pedophile itself was some earlier historical attempt to rebrand the sexual attraction towards children to something more palatable. I fear they’ve been at this for awhile...

That piece is saying 'cummie cutie' and the attempt to add P to the alphabet soup were a hoax, not that "the whole MAP" thing is a hoax.
