There is a huge movement for stuff like this. Check out Girl Defined, Now That I’m a Mother (beautiful, fun, smart girl posting on how to be strong enough to submit to your husband Hmm when she seems like the type who could run a major corporation in her sleep) 19kids and counting and the fundie snark subreddits. It just shows how polarised many sections of usa society have become. The fundamental Christian sections are passionately regressive on women’s roles.

TheSockMonster · 15/08/2020 11:45

Wow. I think I’ll be quite horrified once I’ve stopped laughing.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 15/08/2020 11:22

Incels and/or Bible belters, is my guess.

Just look at that screenshot above: resembles that skit on a 1950s magazine article about wifedom. We've all seen it: 'put a ribbon in your hair and be pretty when he returns from work'; 'never greet him with complaints'; 'listen to him first and don't speak because his day's more important than yours' kind of stuff. The scary thing is that this was supposed to be a joke.

What a novelty should these males host a conference about something within the remit of their experience. Such as, ya'knaw, men. They just might, just might, then have an opportunity to learn something. But that would require a level of self-insight that men like this could never possess.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 15/08/2020 10:57

When I read the OP post I have to say I snorted. Now can't stop giggling about it. Madness.
Who are these men?
I'm going to say they are either the religeous ones who want to have all women be surrendered wives, or Trans men who wnat us to know that they know how to be women better than we do so they'll show us and charge for the priviledge.

I am simultaneously caught between hilarious laughter and jaw dropping shock. I genuinely thought this was a spoof! On a serious note I do worry about the mental state/self worth of any woman who would go to an event like that. Her self esteem must be through the floor.

PumbaasCucumbas · 15/08/2020 09:04

Are we going for sparkly or ‘dewey, youthful, glossy and subtle’ I’m sure there’s plenty more Avon catalogue adjectives

TyroSaysMeow · 14/08/2020 21:42

Would the Twilight vampires be considered the height of femininity using this metric? Have not actually seen it but am told they sparkle.

DianasLasso · 14/08/2020 21:36

I'm intrigued by the idea that femininity can be dialled up by 500% though. How is this measured?

Fellow ladies, I bring you the pink-sparkle-ometer (TM).

Place sample in front of white light source. Measure

  1. the albedo (we want lots of light reflected)
  2. the range of angles the light is reflected through (sparkly glitter should reflect in lots of directions)
  3. it should be a mixture of light reflected at approx 625 to 740nm and 440 to 485 nm (with other wavelengths being absorbed) so that the human eye perceives it as magenta.

(Hopefully this pseudo science hokum complete crock of bullshit should be just the sort of thing blokes signing up to this conference - who have learned all their "science" from YouTube - will absolutely lap up.)

Conference is all about explaining to women biologically and naturally who they are as feminine beings.

Aka woman = feminine being.

Sounds right up the genderists' alley to me.

I'm intrigued by the idea that femininity can be dialled up by 500% though. How is this measured?

As for the trillion dollar feminist establishment, all I can say is GrinGrinGrin

And I'm totally fucked on how to be a beautiful woman - the only thing on that list I manage is the long hair, which I'm thinking of shaving off. But it says shaving is beautiful so I will still score one point.

Thanks OP, I needed a hearty chuckle today.

@Falleninwiththewrongcrowd

This is obviously a spoof, like Landover Baptist Church. Isn't it?
I’m afraid it’s not Sad

@BaronEssoStation

Daniel Radcliffe.

Yes, it was a joke.

It was quite excellent.
LongPauseNoReply · 14/08/2020 14:27

@ErrolTheDragon

Have they abbreviated the title and it should be 'How to make women great with child again: a return to patriarchal control and exploitation of women and their fertility"?

Who the heck attends something like that? Confused

We need to find the poor women who believe these men know better than them about what it means to be a woman and save them....

I can guess that it's very vulnerable women with masses of internalised misogyny, low self-esteem, even lower self worth and zero confidence.

OP posts:
BaronEssoStation · 14/08/2020 13:53

Who the heck attends something like that?

I'd love to know. Two thousand dollars a pop so presumably rich people. They could've written it all down in a book for twenty dollars so I guess rich and gullible?

BaronEssoStation · 14/08/2020 13:46

Daniel Radcliffe.

Yes, it was a joke.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/08/2020 13:36

Who's Danielle Ratcliffe?

Either a joke or a typo, presumably.

Skyliner001 · 14/08/2020 13:34

@BaronEssoStation

I've just googled that name. He looks like Danielle Ratcliffe in some of the pics and he is actually wearing a MAGA-style hat! Does he remind anyone else of Tom Cruise in Magnolia?
