LOL dolls

Has anyone seen the videos going around with LOL dolls, I've just watched one and can't believe it.

If you put them in cold water, lingerie appears. One doll even had a devil tail tattoo on her lower back.

Why would they include this on little girl toys

Well the concern fir me is that children are being sold gross adult kink toys @BilboBercow

It's a question of priorities I guess

BilboBercow · 15/08/2020 19:40

See the concern for me is that legitimate worries about toys being inappropriate is mixed here with ridiculous conspiracy theories.

Pizza slices are NOT known paedophile symbols. Pizzagate is so ridiculous it's unreal. It stems from the Clinton email hack. The incredibly dull emails, many of which were spam and promotional emails were released and some idiot did a random word search on them and discovered a reasonably regular use of the word "pizza".

QAnnon turned this into a secret "code" for child sex trafficking and claimed Hilary Clinton, her campaign manager and anyone else raving GOP types dislike were running a child sex ring from the basement of a Washington pizza place. The owner and staff received constant threats and harassment and a loon burst into the restaurant waving a gun trying to free the children from a basement in a restaurant THAT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A BASEMENT!

Can I just add, Wayfair isn't shipping trafficked children in cabinets, Bill Gates isn't trying to microchip us and Tom Hanks hasn't run off to Greece to escape prosecution for paedophilia.

These are quite disturbing. As @DJLippy said there's a crossover appeal here between children and adults that immerse themselves in anime/furry/fetish communities. There's probably a number of adults who collect them for those reasons and I can't imagine the designers are unaware of that.

In fact on a wider scale the consumption of 'children's' toys by adults has become a massive market in recent decades generally if we think about the popularity of comic/movie merch and all the cos play type conventions that have grown that market.

I think this is where the lines get blurry, I don't think it's a conspiracy as such but it's likely that some designers themselves are part of these communities or almostly certainly have an awareness of them and see a bit of pandering as a money spinner.

Of course anyone who complains is no doubt written off as a sex negative kink shamer. Hmm

OMFG! Confused

NettleTea · 15/08/2020 18:50

and isnt one of those poop nappies a leather one??

Mydarlingsleepthief · 15/08/2020 18:41

Fucking hell that video Shock. When it goes to a close up of the nappy booty shaking whilst singing about pooShock

Tuskys · 15/08/2020 18:34

What the fuck is that unicorn video?! I know he is cancelled, but Shane Dawson did a YouTube vid a while ago around inappropriate children's toys.

Clymene · 15/08/2020 18:29

That video. Jesus Shock

Pelleas · 15/08/2020 17:49

Perhaps I'm an old fuddy-duddy but having dolls that shit for entertainment crosses a line of taste and decency in my opinion.

BusterBluth · 15/08/2020 17:16

Have you seen the video for those Poopsie Unicorns? It is horrifying.
Sexualised baby unicorns in nappies singing about poop. The comments are turned off, unsurprisingly.

There was a very insightful comment on Twitter that said that these toys are designed to break down barriers of modesty, privacy and decency in children. Once you've normalised this stuff it's then easier to cross further boundaries..

I'm not usually one for conspiracies but...

queenofknives · 15/08/2020 16:32

This is so scary. I don't want to think it's true but on the other hand I have no illusions about the lengths paedophiles go to try to normalise child abuse. It seems like some of the dolls have this "feature" but not all. In the video I watched, some of the dolls had fishnet tights on even before the water revealed their fetish-wear.

Mydarlingsleepthief · 15/08/2020 12:08

We have hundreds of LOL’s and my 3 daughters are obsessed, and none have pizza tattoos, patties on their boobs or devil tattoos!

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 15/08/2020 11:34

My youngest has loads of these horrid little things (she got a lot of gifts/bribes during her year in hospital and these were sold in the WHSmith downstairs) they come in lots of different ‘editions’ and I’ve not seen this underwear version before. Pretty horrifying if true.

Rockbird · 15/08/2020 11:13

DD2 (8) has one which she plays with in the bath and she said it gets a purple and white checked bikini and nothing else. Unfortunately it's down the back of the bathroom radiator at the moment (genuinely!) so I can't check it. I was going to get her a couple for her stocking this year but sod that.

DD1 (12) has one that's a little witch but she just has it on display and has never played with it so no idea if that does anything.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/08/2020 09:48

WTF evamum we only have one (got as a gift) and she has long gloves (less obvious than fishnets but I’d say long gloves have been used in films as part of seduction scenes for yonks).

evamumm · 15/08/2020 09:34

This was the doll my daughter had for her birthday, it’s so shocking, hot pants and fishnets. And the shape of its body too... very sexualised. We have a few of the little ones as well and they’re just as awful.

LOL dolls
Pelleas · 15/08/2020 09:13

I'd never heard of these dolls (don't have DC) but the pictures on this thread are appalling - child-proportioned figures dressed in 'sexy' clothes, in sexy poses and plastered in make-up - how can that have become normal?

It reminds me of the 'mini pops' scandal in the 80s - at least that was swiftly spotted as inappropriate.

QuarantineDream · 15/08/2020 09:03

LOL Dolls are made by the same people as Bratz for those making the comparisons.

And the Snopes article about the colour changing ones was definitely Hmm I check out the (male) writer's other pieces and his one on the inappropriate Troll doll was equally sceptical. Classic male response.

BonjourMinou · 14/08/2020 22:07

I just checked my daughter's LOL dolls. Only 2 of them do this, one has pink stockings held up with black bows, another has a skimpy swimsuit with an anchor tattoo on the back of her thigh. And I just noticed my son's boy one comes complete with tiny penis! I am going to ask grandparents not to buy any more and we are going to stop buying them too. My daughter loves them but I hate them for environmental reasons and all the overdone make up they wear.

Scruffyoak · 14/08/2020 21:58

All my girls LOL dolls just changed hair colour in water. I won't be buying any more though.

HolyForkinShirt · 14/08/2020 21:53

While this sounds on surface as terrible. Has anyone actually got a doll which does this.

I have asked 6 friends with daughters who have lots of these dolls. None of them have weird changes when in water. (Around 60 tested in total)

I think this would be fairly easy to mock up for a shock reaction video. I'm highly doubt there is any truth to it.

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 14/08/2020 21:08

I think Nettle is onto something. LOL's didn't start like this, even if they were never great the colour changing ones for example, in the beginning only had colour changing hair, or something on their face or their clothes would change colours. It escalated to what I've posted.

Poopsie surprise started quite ok too, basically just little slime making kits with characters and poo puns. The most outrageous thing at the time about them was that the Pooey Poiton (another pun) big bad kit was being sold for £60.

Now it evolved into the unicorn thing. You put all the ingredients in her, shake it , sit her on the potty, push a button and the slime comes out.

There seems to be this trend of an okish product that becomes a big thing and in order to keep it "relevant and fresh and new" aka make more money because you have this thing ,but do you have THIS ONE they go further and further over the top.

CarlottaValdez · 14/08/2020 20:56

The cloud appearing to vomit shot on her t shirt is unbelievably vile

CarlottaValdez · 14/08/2020 20:50

Wtf with that unicorn! I honestly thought that must be photoshopped but nope. I’ve found it for sale. How deeply deeply fucking strange.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 14/08/2020 20:29

Fucking hell DJLippy that sexy baby Hmm unicorn is indeed drinking shit!!
