Stonewall drop Mermaids?

Seems Stonewall used to direct young people to Mermaids. But the link has been removed from the page?:

And the page that used to be on there appears to be blank:

Could it be this? Article published this morning but I'm sure most of us are aware of the study, it was discussed here.

"Australia’s psychiatrists have been urged to be very cautious about giving official backing to gender clinic treatments for under-18s after an international scandal over false claims of mental health benefits for transgender surgery.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists should be “extremely careful” before endorsing so-called “gender affirming” hormonal treatment and surgery for minors, according to Philip Morris, president of the National Association of Practising Psychiatrists whose members look after patients in the private and public sector."

I work in youth services and attended an event with Brook (large young people's sexual health charity) about a year ago and that in the presentation they gave they said they referred clients to mermaids so might be worth checking if they have or have ever had any links on their website.

Hmmm I do hope this is a deliberate attempt to distance and step away from the madness!

I doubt that, stonewall are one of the driving forces behind the current gender ideology. If something is brewing re mermaids, they will be thrown under the bus to protect the wider cause

Mermaids came under fire recently because it's cis parents helping other cis parents with their trans kids. Should be more trans centred apparently.

highame I’m virtually 100% certain (am about to see if I kept any links - did a link search about 6 months ago but can’t remember if I kept a record).

Can't find much on GIRES re Mermaids links. Not sure if there used to be, though, of course, although they seem to have worked together quite a lot in the past.

I found this on Instagram - I think the relevant pages have been deleted. A 'two-spirit' person 'calling out' Mermaids for - well, who knows. God knows if it's relevant. Mermaids really don't seem to be doing very well right now - pissing people off left right & centre.

What I don't get is why its happening now, when the awful IT breach last year barely raised a whisper. Plus, for years we've been trying to raise awareness of their promotion of suspended doctors and drugs for children.

Is it because there's a domino effect of people not wanting to be the last ones standing when everyone leaves, or is there something new that we don't yet know about?
