Oh, bless Muriel Gray. What a lovely message.

You can actually make a small donation to her charity, Lumos, in someone's honour, so if you include her info at jkrowling dot com email address as the relevant person, then her office will get that notification, as a sort of birthday card. I get the feeling that would mean more to her than just about anything else. And every penny will directly support those children, because she personally funds all the charity's administrative overheads.

She's just such a good, kind and decent human being. Really proud to have someone of her moral stature and integrity standing with us on this.

Happy Birthday JK Rowling.

Her writing (and particularly her audiobooks) were the soundtrack of my children's childhood. We all have great memories of long car journeys made interesting before the days of portable dvd players, and winter evenings reading to them all in front of the fire.
