Woman accessed child abuse images from hospital bed

Haven't seen a thread on this.

Julie Marshall looked at some of her 80,000 child abuse images while recovering from a heart attack. Presumably on a women's or mixed ward.

Julie Marshall admitted three counts of making indecent images of children. 677 of the images downloaded were of the category A, most serious, type.

A Spectator article states that this was recorded as a male crime - the police in the area don't record on self ID, as many do.

Of course, that leads to the next question: why the BBC are reporting a male sex offender as a woman, when that has no legal standing, and doing so is arguably misleading the public. Women commit such offences massively, massively less than men do, and were this in fact a woman it would be a far bigger story.

They're a public service broadcaster. They're not meant to mislead.

If recorded in court as a male surely this will go down as a male crime-I'd be sickens if this was recorded as a female crime!

IIRC there are no sex offender rehabilitation programmes for women, so identifying as a woman also means they avoid attending these programmes.

Can anyone confirm? I recall reading it in connection to another paedophile case.

Presumably, Lynne Featherstone will vocally challenge any move to put this man in a woman's prison, following her assertion that transwomen don't commit these sorts of crimes.

I wonder why Julie would choose to identify as a woman shortly after being convicted of paedophilia?

Surely it wouldn't be so Julie can go to a women's prison?

A man committed the crime and this is how it should be reported and recorded.

You see now how is it that cases like this aren't the exact argument for trans people to say that Self ID is wrong. Why would the want to be in the same camp as this paedophile? Shouldn't they want to have the medical reports and the panel assess their GRC applications to ensure they are not like this paedophile?

They are not the same but they are on the same side. They should want to mark the difference between them.

If the offender was referred to as male in court - found guilty and convicted! - then there is absolutely no reason at all why the BBC or any other media should lie and misgender this person. It takes gaslighting to a whole other level.

I consider the mis-reporting of this to be aiding and abetting paedophile.

What a disgusting bunch they are.
