Action Aid - no such thing as a biological female

It's so... stupid. If biological sex doesn't exist, what are gay and lesbian people? How can we reproduce, if we don't know it takes a man and a woman? The whole thing is ludicrous. Just self-evidently not true! It's beyond belief.

Every single human being alive in the world today exists because biological sex determines women do all the reproductive labour. This is why women and girls are oppressed. Gender is how women and girls are oppressed.

They don't genitally mutilate girls because they dislike their expressed gender identity. They do it because they want to control female sexuality, and therefore reproduction.

This is so very basic. And it's everything women have been saying is wrong. The erasure of sex as a cause of abuse, discrimination and harm to women. It's misogyny in purest form, in fact.

Their 'help end period poverty' ads are all over my Facebook right now and make no mention of women and girls, only people.'

So, why Is it exactly that trans Men, non-binary females, and women would all experience discrimination as a group, Action Aid? Could it be possibly because of aN immutable characteristic they all share?

Disappointed as Action Aid was one of the first charities I regularly subscribed to. I have stopped paying money to any charity that wants to pretend that sex is unimportant nonsense we shouldn't trouble our pretty little heads with.

I wonder if they truly believe this or they’re just looking for attention.

Someone should let them know they can identify out of all of this. They'll be relieved to hear it, I'm sure, if not a little embarrassed that they didn't think of this sooner.

ActionAid should let girls everywhere know, actually. No more period huts, no more FGM, no more trafficking, no more forced marriage. Just say you're a boy/man and voila! Easy peasy.

Sex is a protected characteristic under UK law. It is defined as male or female.

How many other laws derived from international human rights can you imagine any organisation focused on human rights publicly disagreeing with?

Gender and sex aren't the same. If your gender is female but not your sex then you can't expect to use 'single sex spaces'. The clue is in the name.

Yes, genitals don't define gender, but they do define our sex. Because, ya know, biology.

I just rang them up - I wanted to confirm that this was real (!) I spoke to a very polite, helpful person who by her voice I’m pretty sure was a trans woman. She confirmed that this will be up on their website soon. She encouraged me to email [email protected]

I can see that a charity like this will need to work with men, boys & transgender men and women as part of their work. But can’t they do it without saying biological sex doesn’t exist? I feel like crying. Their stuff about period poverty is so good ... how can they do this?

I can’t see this on their website. There is a lot about how poverty impacts the lives of women and girls. I hope it’s fake as I’ve been sending them money for years.
