Has this been posted already? It's from an email they sent. I saw it on Twitter so I'll be back with links.

So, either they genuinely believe that biological sex doesn't exist and that our internal feelings are what determine our gender and whether we happen to identify as the gender that gets raped more and paid less... or they just want to #bekind and use 'inclusive language' in that 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink oh my what a lovely outfit you're wearing Emperor' way.

Neither is a good look really, is it?

The whole thing is totally undermining society. I now find myself not trusting all manner of civic institutions. I'm wary of the police these days, despite doing nothing remotely illegal. I'm wary of people's motivations, the media, charities, contacting my elected representatives, schools, universities: the list goes on.

Yes. Same here. Not to mention afraid to say what I think in case friends and family denounce me.

It's dystopian.

From: www.actionaid.org.uk/sites/default/files/publications/within_our_reach.pdf

Sandhya Limbu is 31, married with three daughters aged nine, eight and four years old. She lives in Nepal.

Sandhya says that women have to be responsible for doing all the unpaid care work at home because of tradition. Men have been given freedom not to carry out household chores and the work is considered the responsibility especially of the daughters-in-law. “If people in society see men doing housework, they immediately make comments about how the wife is enjoying herself while making her husband do the chores.” For the same reason, Sandhya feels that men are considered superior to women and hence, they can scold their wives.

What the fuck have Action Aid been doing if they didn't tell her that she was just identifying into having to do all the chores and be inferior and be scolded by her husband.

It can't be anything to do with her sex, as Action Aid believe that doesn't exist, so it must be her undefinable, internal sense of her womanlyness that causes this inequality.

NotTerfNorCis · 16/07/2020 07:45

Charities and women's rights campaigners know that women and girls are treated the way they are (female infanticide, FGM, denial of education, early marriage etc) because they are biologically female. At the same time, these organisations feel compelled to take on this toxic ideology. I hope they can live with the cognitive dissonance, or their campaigning is likely to be overwhelmed and destroyed by genderist crap.

Action Aid? Seems more like Kool Aid!

No. Words.

NotTerfNorCis · 16/07/2020 07:19

I'm a long time supporter of Action Aid and haven't received this mail (yet).

OldQueen1969, sometimes I feel that too. That by engaging in these issues there may be even more at stake than friendships and jobs. That there may come a time when our electronic footprints are used against us to persecute us, or worse. Then I shake my head, dismiss it, push it to the back of my mind and hope for the best. But the feeling is still there deep down.

Packingsoapandwater, I agree. I remember at school I just never understood how the nazis rose to power on the back of propaganda and political savvy. My only way of explaining it to myself was that things - people - must somehow have been 'different' then, less civilised, less reasonable. Now it is all to obvious how it can happen.

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late.

Packingsoapandwater · 16/07/2020 01:59

I am beginning to think this is the biggest intentional psychological warfare campaign / psy op ever perpetrated, and frankly alongside my confusion, and mounting anger, a frisson of genuine, gut wrenching fear is brewing.

I've said recently on here that I'm starting to be convinced that this is the outcome of psychopathic trolls trying to land a blow against society and a Brewsters Millions-style wager between bored Silicon Valley billionaires. Only it's got way out of hand because the concept pulled in people who had really rather serious psychological issues at a time, and with a subject, where swift dismissal was perceived as inappropriate.

You just cannot live in reality and believe these kinds of statements. It's impossible. Biological sex is one of the fundamental building blocks of the human experience; trying to pretend otherwise is like trying to convince people you actually see through your teeth and hear through your nose.

And if you do believe it, then as Abigail Shrier has revealed, you have been indoctrinated by a cult.

I used to wonder how certain things in history had happened, how ordinary people had found themselves in an environment where certain types of people were akin to parasites or animals. Now I know how it happens because it is happening right now: how the frog slowly boils, how you can't quite believe that really what they mean because it's so ridiculous, how you think people must be mistaken, how you can't understand why no one in a position of political power is tackling the insanity.

The whole thing is totally undermining society. I now find myself not trusting all manner of civic institutions. I'm wary of the police these days, despite doing nothing remotely illegal. Is this definitely true?

I looked on Twitter and couldn't see anything.

Does anyone have links?

Apileofballyhoo · 16/07/2020 01:44

You can identify as a man too, but men won't take you seriously and won't be bullied into doing so. See primogeniture.

Haven't RTFT but wanted to suggest the Fistula Foundation. fistulafoundation.org/

They appear to know who they serve, good ratings and return on donation, and it is utterly life-changing to women who would otherwise suffer physically, psychologically and socially.

I am beginning to think this is the biggest intentional psychological warfare campaign / psy op ever perpetrated, and frankly alongside my confusion, and mounting anger, a frisson of genuine, gut wrenching fear is brewing.

All the word salad, circular arguments and downright lies seem so calculated - while the term gas-lighting may be over-used, it really does seem to encapsulate the tactics being used.

Do these charities, corporations and other organisations truly believe this stuff or is it a cynical and financially motivated bandwagon jumping exercise?

I have been dipping into the thread on AIBU where there is a google image link to miles and miles of the most awful violent de-humanising hate speech directed at women by TRAs that I have ever seen.... I'm 51, I've been around the block, I've experienced sexism, misogyny and being kept in the bloody gender box, and I don't scare easy, but this - I can't begin to articulate my dismay at what is going on in the name of a statistically tiny number of people who have been mainly supported and included by women and the legal system for years without much issue and now war has been declared because no matter how much they are validated for their identity it's never enough..... but no amount of discourse from women is considered worthy of consideration.

I should probably step away - but I'm scared that if I turn my back for a minute I'll miss some horror that will further diminish women.

This is just - beyond words.

That's an excellent description of how I feel too.

Allowing self-determination of our bodies is a basic feminist principle

By this logic then Rachel Dolezal is black right? And Elizabeth Warren is Native American if she says she is. And I should be able to claim disability and get a blue badge on my car. Or is it only the "female" attribute that you can "self-determine"?

IMO, I think the drivers behind this rubbish are the fundraising managers, who have marketing backgrounds, not legal or humanitarian ones. There job is all about how they can achieve as high a profile as possible, to knock out their competitors and to squeeze the money out of you, guilt you into leaving legacies etc. I doubt they have a whole lot to do with the actual coalface, where knowing what a woman is, so you can help her, might be pertinent - that's left to the poor black and brown people on the ground. This is a marketing strategy, the latest bandwagon everyone is jumping on. This statement is so at odds with their mission statement, that they must believe that it chimes with the zeitgeist and will earn them approval from potential donors. Unfortunately for them, I imagine the vast majority of their funds come from the sort of women that post on these boards, not the blue haired and penniless woke. I donated to them by DD for 10+ years, and then I met their International Fundraising Manager, who left me cold, and I diverted my funds elsewhere.

RedToothBrush · 16/07/2020 00:28

Oh their charity commission description:

ACTIONAID UK IS PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION WORKING IN 44 COUNTRIES. WE PROVIDE SUPPORT AND HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE LIVING IN POVERTY AND ON THE MARGINS OF SURVIVAL. TOGETHER WE DEMAND ACTION AT LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL. WE DON'T WALK AWAY UNTIL WE'VE ACHIEVED LASTING CHANGE.

They are not a charity for women and girls.

Apileofballyhoo · 16/07/2020 00:17

I could only read half of Maya's article, I got so upset. How could an organisation like Action Aid buy into the stonewall rubbish? Did they get a big donation from Google on condition? What in the name of God is going on?

OP posts:
Apileofballyhoo · 16/07/2020 00:09

@Sicario

Like so many other charities and organisations, they have been "Stonewalled". Stonewall has been misrepresenting the law and peddling their rewritten version of the Equality Act, under the guise of "diversity training".

Single-sex protections and rights are written very clearly into UK law.

Stonewall needs to be investigated, held to account, and their illegal "guidelines" removed from every single institution in the UK.

Abso-fucking-lutely.

Just want to repeat this paragraph again.

Try having a robust safeguarding culture where there is “zero tolerance” for anyone admitting that they do think male and female bodies exists , or disagreeing with the idea that any male who self-determines as having a female identity should be allowed to share spaces where women and girls are undressing.

Also, that would be zero tolerance of about 90% of the population.

Nobel prize for deepwatersolo

deepwatersolo · 15/07/2020 22:57

On that note: How about ending global warming by identifying out of it? I mean, we could just destroy all thermometers and long-term weather data, get rid of words like 'drought', hot', 'temperature'... we could just eliminate all that and safe the world!

Oxyiz · 15/07/2020 22:40

Well I for one look forward to never needing to donate to any of their appeals again since they can just tell all the women and girls involved that they can identify out of their issues. Job done!

What fucking stupid wankers.

deepwatersolo · 15/07/2020 22:39

Imagine subscribing to the idea that sex does not exist but gender totally does. While not being on drugs.
