Has this been posted already? It's from an email they sent. I saw it on Twitter so I'll be back with links.

@IdrisElbow, I'm pretty sure your money goes into the big pot, and that funding for particular projects is already allocated from it.

I'm waiting for confirmation or denial - but I appreciate that from the evidence other posters have cited, it's not looking good.

Beamur · 16/07/2020 11:13

I showed their statement to my DH and he said 'you don't give them any money do you?'
I don't, as I don't give money to any large charities any more, but I guess they won't need it anymore as they can just tell all the girls to identify as boys and all the problems will vanish.

@Melroses

No response from ActionAidUK yet? I wonder what they are thinking right now?

I'm still wondering what they were thinking when they wrote this pile of reality denying rubbish.

Pointing of fingers ‘you made me do it!’ and people saying ‘I told you it was a load of nonsense’
FoxBaseBeta · 16/07/2020 10:48

I'd really like to make a intelligent meaningful contribution to this post, but all I've got is Jesus fucking Christ. I am though off to investigate the charities highlighted that might actually give a fuck about women, so thanks for those Smile

@Beamur

Oh the irony. Action aid ads appearing now on MN
Ooh that will cause confusion - the TRAs have spent the night saying how wonderful they are for being inclusive and now they'll have to be cancelled for advertising on MN.
Zinco · 16/07/2020 10:35

Did I just say "for men"? I meant "for women", for women.

"A trans woman will never suffer from period poverty."

Well I don't think that's fair. We need gender-affirming tampons for men. I don't know exactly how they will work, but I know we need to be more inclusive...

That's an excellent take down.

@aliasundercover

What I find especially silly and annoying is that nobody would object if they simply said that they were also helping transwomen. If they'd just written that transwomen were often vulnerable and needed their help as well women who would complain?

There is no need for them to write that we have to believe their ridiculous assertions, that women are undefinable and don't really exist, wokesplaining feminist principles to women.

I'd be happy to continue donating to a charity that helps women and transwomen. I will not donate to an organisation that instructs me what I should believe, and tells me it's unfeminist to have a different opinion.

Surely it would be trans men, as they are the ones that have female issues such as periods? A trans woman will never suffer from period poverty.

Emotional blackmail. Dodgy stats. Orchestrated Twitter campaign.

Yes, they’d need to grow a backbone, for sure (or maybe just come off Twitter).

Why are none of them capable of growing a spine and stating that the Emperor’s naked?

Even when this toxic ideology is directly impacting their charity’s ability to meet its stated objectives, they still cravenly kowtow to it. Why? Don’t any of the senior executives that draw a salary from it actually give a shit about what their charity’s supposedly aiming to do?

user8412 · 16/07/2020 09:55

Name change because this is outing but I've been doing a monthly donation to a charity that specifically focuses on girls in Tanzania for a couple of years now. A volunteer for them came and did a presentation at DDs school and she said that, unlike the big charities, they don't have any paid staff or overheads in the UK so all the money is guaranteed to go directly to the projects they fund. I think it was set up by a Tanzanian woman and she has a few volunteers in the UK who help fundraise for her. I got an email from them a month or so ago saying their funding has been quite badly affected by the pandemic so they could probably do with the donations right now.

Anyway this is their website www.kygn.org

ValancyRedfern · 16/07/2020 09:54

Yes. hellandhairnets I've been surprised ans saddened by the number of friends who simply refuse to consider anything outside the Twaw line. They genuinely think I am being horrifically transphobic and talking about prisons, DV shelters, detransitioners is all a 'dog-whistle'. I feel completely powerless when robust evidence is dismissed as hate by otherwise intelligent people.

SorryAuntLydia · 16/07/2020 09:48

I’ll be writing to ActionAid later today.

I define money as anything that I identify as money. Allowing self-definition of currency is a basic human principle. I understand there is no such thing as ‘valuation ’, and that an amount of coins doesn’t determine it’s worth. As such, I’ve used the word donation not cash, and include magic beans, sand, and air in my definition of money. I also recognise that some organisations discriminate against some currencies.

I hope this helps and look forward to sending you my next donation - a big skip of sand.

hellandhairnets · 16/07/2020 09:44

OldQueen1969 and Packingsoapandwater you have both articulated perfectly exactly how I feel and what's been clear to me for some time now. It is both about dismantling women's rights systemically and it is about mass gaslighting and authoritarianism in the wider sense.

The whole thing is far too "smart" and systemic and involves too much power not to have been deliberate, in my opinion. It is extremely scary and sinister.

Question is, what do we do about it and are we going to be able to successfully fight back when there is so much power, media influence and years of behind-the scenes manipulation behind what's going on? I keep thinking sunlight will work, and to some extent it does (thank you, JK) but a horrifying number of intelligent people (media, politics) are also being revealed to be so wedded to the ideology that they double down even when all is exposed to the light.

littlbrowndog · 16/07/2020 09:30

But how can they allow themselves to be bullied.

What will happen to them if they don’t allow themselves to be bullied

Nothing

SerenityNowwwww · 16/07/2020 09:20

We just need to ask now - we choose where we spend our money, so choose a charity with ethics and common sense. If ones such as this are being coerced/bullied into promoting/supporting nonsense then why is this?

justanotherneighinparadise · 16/07/2020 09:17

I’ve seen it on other charitable websites. Women are allowed to exist abroad but age no longer allowed to exist in the UK. I assume because they understand that word salad means nothing if you live in a developing country. It’s almost quite prejudice if you think about it a while longer. Are we saying that those in developing countries are too ignorant to understand that women can have penises too? Not sure! 🤔

StuffThem · 16/07/2020 09:08

From their period poverty website;

Missing out on an education can have a devastating impact on a girl’s life. It means she ismore vulnerable to violence, abuse, child marriage and early pregnancy.

But an ActionAid project has changed Sylvia’s life. ActionAid has helped local women learn how to make safe, re-usable sanitary pads, and has given them free to girls at school. Now, Sylvia can keep going to school during her period.

I'm so confused as to how they think having a period happens if there's no such thing as biological sex?

jinxyminxy · 16/07/2020 08:53

Plan International seem to still be fighting for women and girls. Or, at least, I've not read anything on their website to suggest that they've moved away from their Because I'm a Girl campaign.

justanotherneighinparadise · 16/07/2020 08:31

@Packingsoapandwater

I am beginning to think this is the biggest intentional psychological warfare campaign / psy op ever perpetrated, and frankly alongside my confusion, and mounting anger, a frisson of genuine, gut wrenching fear is brewing.

I've said recently on here that I'm starting to be convinced that this is the outcome of psychopathic trolls trying to land a blow against society and a Brewsters Millions-style wager between bored Silicon Valley billionaires. Only it's got way out of hand because the concept pulled in people who had really rather serious psychological issues at a time, and with a subject, where swift dismissal was perceived as inappropriate.

You just cannot live in reality and believe these kinds of statements. It's impossible. Biological sex is one of the fundamental building blocks of the human experience; trying to pretend otherwise is like trying to convince people you actually see through your teeth and hear through your nose.

And if you do believe it, then as Abigail Shrier has revealed, you have been indoctrinated by a cult.

I used to wonder how certain things in history had happened, how ordinary people had found themselves in an environment where certain types of people were akin to parasites or animals. Now I know how it happens because it is happening right now: how the frog slowly boils, how you can't quite believe that really what they mean because it's so ridiculous, how you think people must be mistaken, how you can't understand why no one in a position of political power is tackling the insanity.

The whole thing is totally undermining society. I now find myself not trusting all manner of civic institutions. I'm wary of the police these days, despite doing nothing remotely illegal. I'm wary of people's motivations, the media, charities, contacting my elected representatives, schools, universities: the list goes on.

Honestly you’ve just articulated how I feel absolutely perfectly! Even down to how I now feel about the police. I too look back at historical events and now understand the power of a drip, drip of propaganda.
