Paedophile with 1500 abuse images now identifies as a woman

Also claims it was "their" gender dysphoria that caused them to download the images of pre-pubescent girls being abused.

Judge disagreed with that assessment - said Anthony had clearly gotten sexual gratification from the images - and yet STILL handed down a 2-year suspended sentence... Isn't that the definition of male privilege?

Female pronouns throughout the article.

It appears from the article that the defendant was tried as Anthony Scales though, which would mean the crime would be recorded as a male offence.

FlamedToACrisp · 14/07/2020 16:32

At the very least, the defence of gender dysphoria should be completely rejected if the accused has never mentioned it or attempted to 'live as a woman' until the idea of being put in prison with a load of angry blokes seemed likely.

Kantastic · 14/07/2020 16:09

This will be recorded as a female crime. Why do females once again have to take responsibility for a man's crime. Why not at least have 2 other categories, trans woman and trans man?

Ooh... I know, because then people would start comparing crime trans rates with "cis" crime rates. And that would raise a lot of extremely awkward questions that TRAs do not want to have asked, let alone answered.

SerenityNowwwww · 14/07/2020 15:57

What would the ‘normal’ sentence be for this type of thing?

scotsheather · 14/07/2020 15:49

Let’s just be clear that those who advocate for self ID believe this man should be able to go into open plan single sex swimming pool changing rooms where women and girls are undressed.

He already can at Glasgow Life afaik. It was bad enough changing in mixed 'villages' with single cubicles.

scotsheather · 14/07/2020 15:47

I assume they have the wrong picture in the article which is of a man. Disgusting crime whoever does it.

PopperUppleton · 14/07/2020 15:37

@TalkingtoLangClegintheDark

Another one to join that ever-growing rogues‘ gallery of male sex offenders who “identify as women”.

Let’s just be clear that those who advocate for self ID believe this man should be able to go into open plan single sex swimming pool changing rooms where women and girls are undressed.

They are either in denial that this man would sit and stare at young girls’ genitalia while exposing his own, or they don’t care that he would. They are either in denial that he would very possibly take advantage of this opportunity to photograph or film these young girls, and then very possibly post the results on the internet for other paedophiles to enjoy, or they don’t care that he would. They are either in denial that he would actually assault one or more of these girls if this situation gave him that opportunity, or they don’t care that he would.

That makes them, in my book, either criminally stupid or downright evil. One or the other.

This is the inevitable result of Stonewall’s “acceptance without exception”. This is what Pink News, Google, all those MPs demanding reform to the GRA to allow self ID, and all the rest of the self ID advocates are lining up to support. Those virtue-filled people who appropriate the moral high ground for themselves and are doing their very best to make us the pariahs.

This is the world we’re living in now. It disgusts me and breaks my heart in equal measure.

Yes, THIS! Well said Talking.

Yes. Because Trans Women Are Women. It's just the truth, and collateral damage is acceptable.

@Soubriquet

Women aren’t raped because of their sex?

What are they raped for then?

Whilst I will say that yes men have been raped, the majority are women.

I’m terrified now actually on how many times this exact same defense will be used by other criminals to get a lesser sentence or even sentenced to a women’s prison

I think this thread actually links in with the circumstances talked about in the aforementioned thread.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3966775-Change-org-says-its-discriminatory-to-say-that-women-are-raped-because-they-are-female

Fanthorpe · 14/07/2020 15:16

Rape is about power, control and violence and the majority of victims are women, and ALL of the perpetrators are men, because only men have a penis. This cannot be allowed to change as the definition of the crime.

CatandtheFiddle · 14/07/2020 15:00

He must have thought he'd be getting a custodial sentence and thought he'd have an easier time, plus access to women, in a female jail

Oh no no no no., perish the thought. How can you be sooooo cruel & cynical?

She has a life long gender dysphoria and had to look at those images and stroke her lady penis to console herself about the literal violence of being born in the wrong body.

CatandtheFiddle · 14/07/2020 14:54

As Mandy Rice-Davies immortally said "Well, he would, wouldn't he?"

CistitisStings · 14/07/2020 14:36

Don't be stupid. Antony is a woman, and women don't want to hurt other females. This simply doesn't happen.

LillianBland · 14/07/2020 14:28

I’m just waiting for the poster who said on another thread that women aren’t raped, because of their sex, to pop up and explain why this pervert’s choice of video involved the abuse of little girls. Coincidence?

The very very tiny comfort in this story, is the fact that the judge didn’t believe his excuses for watching the rapes of young girls. Isn’t it ridiculous that I’m actually surprised at that?

Wyntersdiary · 14/07/2020 14:28

when these sentences get given i think to myself.. how cruel do you have to be to not want to give them a proper sentence? how can you not think of those poor children.

I remember a case years ago. Man killed 4 year old girl after sexually abusing her... was given 5 years in prison.

I was 14 when i saw that headline and i cried myself to sleep for days because it was the first time that i found out that those things happen and i couldnt believe an adult could ruin a life and not get his ruined in return.

calllaaalllaaammma · 14/07/2020 14:14

To be honest, that sentence seems to be pretty standard for the crime- 200 hrs community service, suspended 2 year prison sentence and 10 years on the sex offenders register, but it does seem to vary case by case, judge by judge.
It is infuriating that the defendant is called 'her' in the article though, and the fact that it was offered as an excuse for the defendant's behavior by the prosecution is pretty sickening.

wellbehavedwomen · 14/07/2020 14:12

Sorry, that was for @OhDear2200

wellbehavedwomen · 14/07/2020 14:11

Oh it's long been recognised that women in prison, the vast majority of whom are jailed for non-violent crimes, are almost all survivors of previous male sexual violence.

Incarcerated women evidence high rates of both interpersonal trauma and mental illness. In particular, the rates of sexual violence victimization are so high that some researchers have suggested that sexual abuse may be a pathway to prison for women, likely through the development of mental illness, including substance abuse.

And then they think it's fine to lock male criminals up with these women, if those males assert a woman's gender identity. Which by definition, the women can't see - all they see is a man. And of course male people's demands matter more than female people's needs. Even though it's widely accepted that just the presence of male people, however they identify, is traumatic for women prisoners.

MyOwnSummer · 14/07/2020 14:11

And no, that is not a woman. These are not our crimes.

MyOwnSummer · 14/07/2020 14:10

A suspended sentence? For that? A complete disgrace. Hardly better than a slap on the wrist.

Slightly off topic, but it is a shame we can't just stick all the unrepentant, excuse making paedophiles on an island somewhere and forget about them. Sadly it would have to be quite a large island.
