Paedophile with 1500 abuse images now identifies as a woman

Also claims it was "their" gender dysphoria that caused them to download the images of pre-pubescent girls being abused.

Judge disagreed with that assessment - said Anthony had clearly gotten sexual gratification from the images - and yet STILL handed down a 2-year suspended sentence... Isn't that the definition of male privilege?

Female pronouns throughout the article.

I complained to the BBC just after Christmas and haven’t had a reply. Also in Feb - also no reply.

Binterested · 15/07/2020 20:45

I've complained to the BBC referencing this from their Editorial Guidelines and telling them they are in breach of their own guidelines. I shall not expect much - they have brushed off all my previous complaints but maybe someone somewhere will start to notice that the public are not buying it .

Trust is the foundation of the BBC: we are independent, impartial and honest. We are committed to achieving the highest standards of due accuracy and impartiality and strive to avoid knowingly and materially misleading our audiences.

@Antibles

Thank you janicebattersby.

Why does IPSO insist on preferred pronouns rather than biology?

I believe they were 'educated' by Trans Media Watch and/or Press for Change. There was a parliamentary review a few years back about reporting guidelines for trans people and it came from that.

JaniceBattersby · 15/07/2020 16:32

Thanks. I hope to continue covering these cases. My direct line manager is currently happy for me to do so.

However it may seem, the huge majority of journalists are fully supportive of the views of gender critical feminists. Most can’t express those views because they’re clinging on to their jobs in a shrinking industry but they do care and they do see through the nonsense.

OvaHere · 15/07/2020 13:48

Thanks for the explanation @JaniceBattersby keep up the good work. It must be hugely frustrating.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 15/07/2020 13:45

Thank you for attending and the care you take with your reports, Janice. It's absurd and sickening that we're in this position.

nauticant · 15/07/2020 13:16

Another thanks from me JaniceBattersby.

HDDD · 15/07/2020 13:14

Adding my thanks to @JaniceBattersby

The regulatory capture of the judiciary is utterly appalling.

And I'm grateful to you too Janice but shocked that the directives are so strong, particularly when there are children who are victims of these crimes.

Imagine what it's like for those children that Joshua harvey targeted in October, reading that the man that tried to groom them is called Leah and referred to as a woman. They must feel that their reality and lived experience is less important than that of a convicted paedophile

truthisarevolutionaryact · 15/07/2020 12:39

What is enraging is that certain trans groups get to decide on whether these predators are placed in mens or women's prisons? Why on earth have we have allowed self interest groups to dabble in the prisons system?
Yet another example of preferential treatment for this group.

Fanthorpe · 15/07/2020 12:34

JaniceBattersby - thank you, I really appreciate what you’re doing. 💐

JaniceBattersby · 15/07/2020 12:33

Apols for typo: I’ve not been in a case where the victim of a transgender sex offender has been a child

JaniceBattersby · 15/07/2020 12:32

@OvaHere the huge majority of young children will simply have their police interviews played in court and will not be required to give evidence in person or be cross examined. I guess in their police interviews there’s no way that an officer would correct them if they used the wrong pronouns. From what I’ve seen, police officers in general are VERY sceptical toward offenders who say they are trans.

Recently, more cases are being heard over video link with defendants appearing from prison and the prison officers clearly and deliberately refer to them as Mr in almost every case. They’ve never been challenged by a judge or magistrate.

I’ve not been in a case where the victim or a transgender sex offender has been a child and has been required to be in court so I don’t know what a judge’s response would be if a ‘misgendering’ occurred. This is why I make a huge effort (often in my own time, without pay) to go to these cases because it’s very important that we record what’s happening. You can never really know how it’s going to play out until you get to court.

Most journalists are highly cynical people and the reason you’re seeing these cases covered by local papers is usually because they know full well what’s going on.

Fanthorpe · 15/07/2020 10:56

It was apparent in the responses that Frances Crook got that MRA’s think the most important thing is focusing on the feelings of the trans person, not the reality of the crime and the victims.

SarahTancredi · 15/07/2020 10:49

does this

Stupid phone

SarahTancredi · 15/07/2020 10:49

How could the end outcome be anything else though?

Any one who died this is nothing short of an abuser themselves. They are in fact worse than the perp because they are supposed to.be the good guys. They are supposed to help. Instead they inflict yet more abuse on the victim. Bruises and bones heal. This mental abuse will remain fir life.

OvaHere · 15/07/2020 10:46

@Fanthorpe

God, OvaHere what a dreadful dreadful thought that is.
Well yes it is!

How could the end outcome be anything else though?

In my experience, judges order all people in the court room to use the preferred pronouns and journalists, when quoting them, cannot and should not change a direct quote. To do so would be in contempt of court.

So how will this work in cases of physical sex offending/child abuse?

I realise children aren't present in court and give evidence via video link or other means but would a little girl be expected to call an abuser 'she' if that man took on a 'female gender identity'?

Is this something already happening?

Another report of the second story. No photo and no hint at all to the criminals sex.

Siablue · 15/07/2020 08:11

Thank you for that JaniceBattersby I appreciate that you are in a difficult situation. We only know about these stories because the local reporters not only reported on them but gave us enough info to realise the bill shit here. The photographer’s trip to the court was worthwhile here.

I am pleased that most of the time they will go to men’s prisons. I do wish someone would be brave enough to do a bumper report on all the men who have done this. It would be eye opening to many people.

I am pleased I am not going to get banned.

MoltenLasagne · 15/07/2020 07:52

@Bearsinmotion

I wonder if Julie Marshall was on a women’s ward while accessing those images?
I took that as read sadly.
