Didn’t see this on the current post about her fundraising but thought it deserved a post of its own.

I've only just seen this! How frustrating, but yet not disheartening.

HarrietHardy · 20/04/2021 15:24

It means there are gold nuggets to be found, though ...

yourhairiswinterfire · 20/04/2021 15:22

Aah. Thanks Harriet :)

HarrietHardy · 20/04/2021 15:17

@yourhairiswinterfire

Is 6,000 pages of evidence usual for this sort of case, anyone know? Seems excessive...makes me think there's a lot more to the case than first realised.
I've experienced 'over disclosure' before, where the other side tried to drown us in irrelevant documents, hoping we wouldn't find the needle(s) in the haystack.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/04/2021 15:02

Frustrating. But maybe more time for stonewall to get some stronger glasses in order to read the writing on the wall.

Perfectly put, Datun!

It's good news today that the LGB Alliance have been formally approved as a charity by the Charity Commission, with full reasons given about why, and objections rejected, again with full reasons.

Scepticaltank · 20/04/2021 14:47

This gives Stonewall time to apologise to Allison. Writing that letter was appalling. The author completely overstepped the line there and I think defending their action is shameful. Where they going to say? That it is part of the Stonewall Champions scheme that employers have to be willing to damage careers if people say things that Stonewall employees dislike?

They have already tried to wriggle off the hook by claiming there's no relationship.

They should simply apologise, instead they are going to spend 20 days trying to justify their mud slinging with a litany of contortions.

Just apologise. It was indefensible.

Tibtom · 20/04/2021 08:11

Does there come a point where the court can appount Bailiffs to search out and receive information Stonewall refuse to disclose and hold them in contempt of court?

😆😆 Maybe if someone adds “Get Over It” at the bottom, they might take notice.

It must be disappointing not to be able to get it all heard, but I should be able to dig 2 or 3 more times in the next 12 months.

HarrietHardy · 20/04/2021 03:27

I will look at it as extra time for fundraising and publicity.

ChakaDakotaRegina · 20/04/2021 03:15

Thanks for the update. It must be horribly frustrating and hard to have this hanging over her for 2.5 years. And of course by that point the people responsible will have moved into other roles on the charity circuit

Manderleyagain · 19/04/2021 23:48

Thanks for the update. That's a long delay, it must be really disappointing for alison. But a 20 day trial! There must be loads of evidence to go through.

Thecatonthemat · 19/04/2021 23:47

Wow, sounds like the ducks are lining up but bad having to wait till next year, a really important case for sure. Thank you for the update .we will all be watching

HarrietHardy · 19/04/2021 23:42

Thank you for the update.

stumbledin · 19/04/2021 23:40

Thanks for sharing this.

Was wondering if it should be a new thread. I can understand wanting to keep the info together but many may not bother to check.

Or is it possible to ask MNHQ to edit the title and add today's date?

yourhairiswinterfire · 19/04/2021 22:35

Another update. The trial has been delayed, it won't be heard until 2022, and has been extended from 8 days to 20.

allisonbailey.co.uk/updates/update-6-trial-moved-back/

Following the Preliminary Hearing on 11 – 12 February, a further case management discussion was held today 19th April before Employment Judge Stout.

The disclosure process (which was supposed to have been completed by 12 March) has not gone smoothly. I have provided all of my documents as and when directed by the Tribunal, but although I have received in excess of 6,000 pages from the other parties, I am still awaiting receipt of a number of categories of documents that have not yet been provided to me. My lawyers are continuing to pursue this.

I cannot give any detail of what I have received in disclosure, but suffice to say there is nothing that has given me or my lawyers any cause for concern at all about my prospects of success.

The main point arising from today is that the Full Merits Hearing (Trial) has now been extended from 8 days to 20 days. The Tribunal (and the lawyers’ diaries) could not accommodate this until April 2022, so the trial has been moved back until then, and is now running from 25 April to 23 May 2022. This means that the hearing on 1-10 June is no longer going ahead. There is another preliminary hearing listed later in June, which may or may not be in public, depending on what happens between now and then.

It is frustrating that the hearing cannot proceed as quickly as I would have liked; by the time of its conclusion, it will be over 2 ½ years from the date of the launch of the LGB Alliance and the Stonewall Complaint against me.

However, the extension from 8 to 20 days will mean that the evidence will be ventilated more extensively. This is therefore some consolation for the delay.
