@JellySlice - my poor mum had horrendous fibroids and she did manage to unexpectedly flood all over carpets, clothes etc, as well as having horrific periods that lasted 3 weeks out of 4.

She went to see a Dr who told her not to worry within 10 years she'd probably go through the menopause and it'd stop naturally. Luckily she eventually pushed for a different Dr and had a hysterectomy a few years later, but back to the point - sadly you're wrong to think no one could drip like that.

I loved this.

I do experience my monthly cycle as being this dramatic. And the intensity of feelings around the different ways in which I have become pregnant - both the absolute worst and the very best.

I've always hated the "stuff a tampon in & pretend it's not happening" narrative. Blood and the fear of leaking is real but just one part of the huge visceral, mental experience. I'm done pretending I'm a defective man.

I've never had period pain but I don't see the ad as an issue by highlighting that some do have a lot of issues.

Endometriosis is woefully ignored and dismissed.

You're very fortunate. Unless you are menopausal you may still experience difficult periods.

I was so very delighted when my periods finished for good.

Yeah I have generally escaped the really terrible aspects of a female body (endo, infertility, miscarriage etc) but I have still had lots exclusively female body experiences - starting my periods in PE (this was mortifying enough at an all girls school), the absolute joy of getting my Mirena coil fitted (during my period) and the delightful weeks and months afterwards where I came so close to trying to just rip the damn thing out myself, the post partum 'blood drop' on the floor the first time I got out of bed after my theatre episiotomy and ventouse birth, chemotherapy induced menopause (I am back to normal now but it gave me a taster of menopause and I didn't enjoy it!), the years spent praying I didn't get pregnant and then the feeling of soooooo wanting to be pregnant after coming off the pill, the realisation of linking up the weirdly crippling anxiety that I kept experiencing with no explanation to my period being due.... And so on and so on.

Really liked this. It’s nice to see the reality of periods, and by extension sex and fertility. Well done Bodyform.

Very moving a very focussed on genuine womanly issues. I thought it was very good.

What's wrong with 'wombstories'?

I'm usually the first to slate anything I see as mawkish shite (which is a lot of stuff!) but I thought this was pretty good. I don't know, maybe it's just actually such a novelty to see something which is unapologetically centred around women!

Loved it! And seen some of my wokiest friends praising it too. Also like the idea of buying them for the food bank as I use reusables.

I've generally had unremarkable periods but have had a laparoscopy, ivf and some in my teens where I was vomiting and curled up on the bathroom floor. We all have our womb stories don't we.

Another one with the Laparoscopy scars for both endo and a surgery to correct my heart shaped uterus. We had IVF too and the dildo cam bits took me right back.

I think it’s fucking marvellous and I’m going to email them to say so

Just a quick FYI for anyone switching brands. I swapped to bodyform years ago when always told us the scented pads never cause thrush or cystitis and women love their fadge smelling like a car air freshener .
Until recently the pink or turquoise bodyform packs I used to buy said perfume free on the front of the packet. They've now changed and say fresh feel or similar and are scented, so if this is an issue look for the white packet that says allergen free.

Well that was a pleasant surprise, I was expecting something where they were doing everything possible to not utter that oh so dirty word 'woman'.

These days I am totally in thrall to my moon up so won't be buying Bodyform, but definitely a good show from them!

As an aside, I also started my first period during a PE lesson too - how does it know! It was gym as well so literally knickers and a t shirt!
