As part of their support for Pride, £80,000 is being donated to Mermaids.

Mimmymummy is overjoyed.

@LankyScot They moved their HQ from Cheshunt to Welwyn Garden City a few years ago - but I guess it may still be sent on?

I wrote a letter after cancelling my Tesco Mobile and Tesco Credit card accounts to:

I bet this is the most fun some wankbadgers have had all year.

You can just picture them two-finger typing in their mum's spare room.

Lordamighty · 03/07/2020 13:58

@JustHereWithMyPopcorn

Am I allowed to say Owain is a massive wankbadger? Asking for a friend.
If only there was a like button.
SerenityNowwwww · 03/07/2020 13:56

so what cant we say? Is there a list? Do we have to guess? Is it like in Oranges are not the only fruit where she is sating all the bad words she can think of?

Thisismytimetoshine · 03/07/2020 13:54

It may not be the actual phrase itself, MNHQ have a very strange moderation policy.
Post reported? Delete, no questions asked, on the grounds that someone Has Been Offended.
Whether it's objectively, deliberately offensive doesn't seem to be a factor at all.

Very handy for any thin skinned weasel with a grudge 🤷🏻‍♀️

SuckingDieselFella · 03/07/2020 13:40

Not all threads are policed by wankbadgers.

Distractable · 03/07/2020 13:03

Just scrolling through threads and I notice that someone else has used that phrase that I think led to my deletions. Just this morning! Looking forward to my response from the mods now.

GrandmaMazur · 03/07/2020 12:56

Have written

Distractable · 03/07/2020 12:52

Thanks all. I have reported myself! I moderate a Facebook page and have every sympathy with the hardworking mods here. Would be good to get clarity though!

SuckingDieselFella · 03/07/2020 12:44

@Distractable I clicked 'report' on my post which was deleted and asked for an explanation. I also made them aware that this thread has been screenshotted on twitter and posters are being subjected to 'TERF' style abuse. These two events may not be unconnected...

@JustHereWithMyPopcorn Owain is allowed to say I am a member of Stormfront Grin so you can go right ahead.

ArriettyJones · 03/07/2020 12:41

ASK nicely^

ArriettyJones · 03/07/2020 12:40

Report the relevant post and as nicely on the report screen.

Distractable · 03/07/2020 12:38

How do I ask Mumsnet Towers the reason for the deletions? I've only just started to post etc after long time lurking so I'm not sure how to do it!

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 03/07/2020 12:33

Sexnotgender · 03/07/2020 12:32

@Thisismytimetoshine

Why has that phrase been put in the sin bin? Wtf??
Perhaps it leads the to unsuspecting posters googling an unknown phrase and stumbling across something that leads them along the same path?
SerenityNowwwww · 03/07/2020 12:32

Pokey tanktops?

Thisismytimetoshine · 03/07/2020 12:30

Distractable · 03/07/2020 12:29

Two deletions now! In case anyone was wondering what I said that was so controversial, I talked about by DH's concern about that company who advocate unnecessary medical treatment of children and its effect in leading him to the mountaintop view on these issues. And it looks like the phrase, which I learnt on Mumsnet, is now out of bounds. Happy to get more creative with my language!

And then how he's now working through our Tesco accounts with various arms of their business and deleting them. Two accounts down already, and currently on the phone to another.

MessyBess · 03/07/2020 12:19

Meant truly not trusty.

MessyBess · 03/07/2020 12:18

Skyliner001 You’re grand. A few of the places I have actually stopped using, I may not have used them often but I did use them now I wouldn’t at all. I just can’t boycott tesco, they are reliable, they know about the health needs in my home and have been great with making sure we have slots etc and I know roughly how much most things are etc and I’ve been using them every single week for about five years now (deliveries) and used to shop in store even before then. It sucks that they’ve donated so much to a charity I trusty dislike but I’m just going to have to deal with that because it’s one place I can’t stop using unfortunately. At least not during the pandemic. Any other supermarkets that deliver that aren’t supporting mermaids and the like? I can try and switch over at some point but at this moment in time I’m sticking with tesco. Also just recently got pet insurance with them fs.

ArcheryAnnie · 03/07/2020 11:54

Every time I see nonsense like this - a huge corporation donating to a highly controversal organisation (and one run primarily by fairly socially conservative straight people) that promotes gay conversion therapy, in the name of, er, celebrating Pride - it makes me despair for the lack of really basic research into this that these corporations must be doing.

SuckingDieselFella · 03/07/2020 11:52

@Beerincomechampagnetastes

Owain. A very sad individual who hangs out on mumsnet hoping for screenshots to make his twitter feed relevant. It doesn’t.
In fairness, any individual who does that is very sad.

"Dear diary, today I screenshotted a comment from mumsnet and got 1 like. Who knew I had that many friends?"

Skyliner001 · 03/07/2020 11:40

Messybess: That wasn't aimed at you in a nasty way, was just reflecting on the ease of a boycott when you don't use or shop somewhere! 😊
