Twitter - JKR 'likes' disappearing

Just a heads up, if you're on Twitter sporadically or just to give a like to JKR or people who have supported her, go back and check if any of your likes have disappeared and like them again. Mine disappear regularly, including Ickabog tweets I liked that just so happen to be of the same date that JKR tweeted about something else.

I'm not going to speculate about how or why these likes are disappearing. I don't think I'm the only person it's happening to.

I'm also being asked regularly if I'm a robot.
I keep meaning to only post on other topics, and see if I have to prove who I am.
I too have never tweeted or retweeted

Interesting. I just checked and mine had Indeed disappeared. I’d only started being active a few days ago specifically to like her tweets and support her. Makes me feel a bit weird.

I have to say I'm getting tired of it and feel like not bothering with it at all, but if somebody somewhere thinks my likes are important enough to delete I should probably keep checking and re- liking. It's a chore though and also makes me feel anxious and paranoid.

Checked again, gone again. I'm also being asked daily if I'm a robot since my GC activity became more obvious. Even though I don't tweet or retweet, just follow, like and reply.

Same as me. Mine were fine until they weren't. I had just reliked all the 6th June ones, came on here to write this post, went back to Twitter and all my likes had disappeared. Including the ones on the children's drawings from 6th June, which is really unfair on them. If you look you can see that those drawings have fewer likes than drawings from the other days.

In the beginning I think it wasn't as obvious I was GC. I still don't tweet or retweet, just reply and like. People's retweets are disappearing too strangely.

All my JKR likes have gone....

I've reinstated them and will keep an eye out..

I first noticed on liking rip4xnutmeg, that my like was disappearing, one day I checked 5 times, and every time it had gone.

I nearly started a thread, anything GC it seems to happen. But strangely enough not when I like something unrelated . . . . . .

I didn't use to have it, my likes/relikes etc. stayed put.

Then suddenly, I started noticing it happening on JKR's tweet, so I checked back on some others, and saw they were also losing their likes. Almost as if I was ignored until I got on some list.

Interestingly Fred Sargeant has tweeted that he’s been noticing his follower numbers going down again shortly after any increase. He wasn’t going to speculate (because it could have been genuine) until followers contacted him to say they seem to have ‘unfollowed’ him even though they themselves categorically did not choose to unfollow.

I'm not a Twitter user but I have been following the JKR response. A hashtag many people have been using and apparently still using at a rate of multiple tweets per hour is "#IStandWithJKRowling' . It used to come up in the search bar when I started typing it out, but strangely now when you type it in, the only result you get pointed to is the variant "#IStandWithJKRowlings' - with the S on the end representing a hashtag with much lower tweet rate (only a handful from today).

A coincidence? Why would their algorithm only suggest a less-tweeted variant of a popular hashtag?
