Twitter - JKR 'likes' disappearing

Just a heads up, if you're on Twitter sporadically or just to give a like to JKR or people who have supported her, go back and check if any of your likes have disappeared and like them again. Mine disappear regularly, including Ickabog tweets I liked that just so happen to be of the same date that JKR tweeted about something else.

I'm not going to speculate about how or why these likes are disappearing. I don't think I'm the only person it's happening to.

Me to - my likes and shares if the tweet and the tweets saying ‘oi where’s my like??’ also disappear.

All my likes have been disappearing for months and my retweets even of the replies to JK Rowling's tweet from people I follow.

Censorship in action again which was why I got involved in all this campaigning in the first place. Reminds me of is it the Running man the Arnold Schwarzenegger film where they completely edit what happens to make it look as though he's a bad person when he's a good person?

I can't remember what I have liked and what I haven't. However, I'm nipping on every day to like some stuff. I've also shared supportive Baroness Nicholson things, and other more generally feminist stuff.

Some of the things I've seen on Twitter means they should probably do that for all pictures of dogs now... I've seen the sensitive content warning on a lot of gender critical shifts accounts, and when I open it I'm a bit wtf. Pictures of JKR appearing in a newspaper article will do it.

All my likes disappeared again. I think there's something linked to the Maya Forester one and all JKR tweets from Jun 6th as my likes disappear from the Ickabog drawings and a Harry Potter canon question she answered.

Somethings definitely up with Twitter. I’ve never liked or RT any GC content, but I follow a lot of GC people (and trans people - I like to have a broad horizon to monitor). I recently posted a cute picture of my dog and it was marked to my followers as “potentially containing sensitive content”.

My Maya one disappears too, colouring. I follow and like tweets from other accounts that are nothing to do with GC, it really just seem to be my JKR likes. Fuckers.

Overcome reality with making things look the way you want them to and then pretend nothing else ever existed. If you can't see it, it hasn't happened. While screaming at anyone and anything that lets reality seep out.

Common and very sad tactic, there's a lot of it about. It always reminds me of a toddler with their hands over their eyes, convinced that if they can't see you, you can't see them.

I've liked JKR's tweet from a while back, the love who you want type one, 21 times. The total number of likes on it peaked at £208k but now at £207k. Seriously fishy.

It's just my 6th June likes that are disappearing several times a day, though my likes of JKR's other tweets sometimes disappear.

I do retweet the odd funny or general thing, and I've the odd comment on non GC tweets.

It's weird.

If you look at bot accounts you’ll see they do some liking and re-tweeting of random stuff before they become active on the accounts they’re really interested in. If you’re going on Twitter I would recommend doing some genuine interaction with people you know which should make you have a more robust experience.

I’ve been terf-blocked but none of my likes have been removed. I‘be been removed from following a few people which makes me think there’s something odd going on. However I’ve been convinced I’ve been muted a few times only to then get a reply.

Just to say, it would be very simple to maintain a blacklist of tweeters and track and suppress interactions between the group. You could use the same group to identify hashtags that were trending more in that group than the other populations and suppress those too.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but is it possible that Twitters algorithm automatically deletes likes and followers from accounts that don't tweet or retweet anything? It does look a bit suspicious if you're only liking JKR stuff and not doing anything else.

(Not to me, to an algorithm that's trying to stop people buying followers and likes)

Gone again. It's very unfair on the children whose pictures are 6th of June. Sinister as fuck that Twitter are manipulating likes.

I've just gone on and followed and liked a few things.

I've also retweeted saying how great she is, and admiring the time and effort she's put in to children during lockdown.

Mine were gone again but I feel if I stop liking them or leave Twitter then 'they' win.

They're obviously trying to keep the number of likes for JKR's tweets below a certain number. I don't know if they just delete a whole load of them when it approaches that number or if I'm on a list.

The checking and re-liking is time consuming.
