GC women to activist political lobby: you are fine, we see your needs, we respect your needs, can we please find ways to meet them that do not in the process harm female humans, who do need sex classification, and do not harm safeguarding for women and children? Can we please look for solutions that equally respect and work for everyone's choice of identity, need, dignity, privacy, safety?

Political lobby: death threats, rape threats, doxxing, closing down any groups of females trying to say this, no there is no other possible end but exactly what we demand to meet are own needs, and those who will be harmed in the name of achieving this agenda are just justifiable collateral damage.

That message to Posie demonstrates, yet again, how many of those involved in this movement are seriously mentally unwell and are finding the movement nothing more than a useful means to enable and normalise and excuse appalling behaviour and attitudes towards others. Rather like the MRAs, the incels, the misogynists and others who like the veneer of 'this is appropriate and ok so long as you only do it to x group - who we helpfully dehumanise to enable it'.

Until humans figure out that it is not ok to behave like this towards anyone, at all, ever, regardless of whether or not you like or agree with them, we've learned nothing from WW2 or colonialism, or slavery, or any other humanitarian disasters. Mumsnet is more than a discussion forum. It's a pressure group. It's been seen to exert influence in the past, more recently through its moderate success in challenging the sacrificing of women's loos to mixed sex spaces in various locations. That makes it a threat to anyone who would like to silence all but one side of this debate.

It's therefore predicable that this site would be the next target. It's only surprising that they've waited this long. The tide is already turning; it would never do to reveal the existence of any form of counter-argument. A cogent counter-argument no less, rather than the deafening, repetitive chant of slogans.

The message to Posie Parker was utterly sickening. The abuse directed at JKR was also sickening, in particular the attempt by Lloyd Russell-Moyle to silence victims of sexual and domestic abuse.

As we batten the hatches, can I just remind people to report suspect posters. I do it all the the time. MNHQ are pretty good at joining the dots if someone is being goady/disingenuous/quote mining even if individual posts stay within the rules. A lot of the time it turns out that 'new' posters have been banned in previous incarnations.

I hobnob on these groups on a daily basis with the likes of Posie Parker yes, they could ban PP but she is still there under her real name Julie Birchhill, Venice Allen, Julia Long, Meghan Murphy, and a host of other very well known names. TRAs can't access these sites -- the gatekeeping is strict and we talk. We can say what we like.

The movement has merely been pushed of sight and that is always dangerous. It hasn't been erased. We are still here, not only on Mumsnet; it's just that MN is public, which is good, as newcomers have easier access.
